While the work was done correctly Richfield PLumbing charged $336 for 30 minutes of labor. The plumber needed two trips because he didn't have the correct part on his truck. He said there would not be charges for two days which is exactly what they did. When I called to discuss I was told there would be no changes to the invoice. I would NEVER trust them again for service in my home

I called Richfield Plumbing and they sent in Uptown Plumbing. Not sure if there is a sub-contracting arrangement or not. I had purchased the disposal separately to replace an old / broken unit. No special work required. He looked at his price sheet and quoted $450. Remember this was just an install. Any other reasonable price would have been $100-$200. We negotiated to $360 - still too high. The price quote for the replacement of a $7.50 toilet flapper $400.... we declined the service. Fixing the shower was $500-$1,000. If we had approved all of my original requests / fixes, and the reason I scheduled the appointment, it would have cost me close to $2,000. I know - it is so absurd it is hard to comprehend. I will never call Richfield Plumbing or Uptown Plumbing - prices for basic services are offensive.

The sink had plugged during the weekend and we had tried to clear it with no luck. I called Richfield Plumbing when they opened at 7:30am Monday morning . I was told someone would be at our place 9:30-10:00. Ross showed up a little before 10:00. He covered his shoes and went upstairs. He got the drain cleared and explained why we probably weren't able to do it. He left the area he worked very clean. He looked at a future job we may have and was very helpful explaining what it might involved. I was pleased and will use them again.

I made an appointment for a toilet to be installed after a flooring replacement and to replace four valves located under two bathroom sinks and one valve located under the kitchen sink. At the time of making the appointment, I was informed the labor rate is $154 per hour. The plumber called at 12:10 informing me he was on his way. The plumber arrived at the jobsite at 12:20 and left the jobsite at 13:40. I expected the billable time would be 1.5 hours max (12:10 to 13:40) but I was charged 2.0 hours. After receiving the bill, I complained and at that time I was informed I had to pay travel time from the plumber’s previous job to the plumber’s next job after mine. Be aware that you are paying both travel times at $154 per hour, so when you make an appointment with Richfield Plumbing, make sure you understand where the plumber is coming from and going to. If the plumber is coming from or going across town, that could be costly.) Even though I did specify a toilet install at the time of making the appointment, the plumber could not install the tank because he did not come with the rubber gasket that goes between the tank and the bowl. Even though I was charged $10 for shop supplies, I had to provide the Teflon tape and plumber’s putty since that would have meant a ‘trip to the truck’(at $154 per hour). The valves, wax rings, and bolts are $55.79 retail at Home Depot. I was charged $116.27. This is more than double Home Depot’s retail price. If want your savings account drained and your plumbing problem fixed, call Richfield Plumbing. If you just want your plumbing problem fixed, look elsewhere.

I've used Richfield Plumbing on one previous occurance a year or so previously and was very happy with the experience.  I had a trap and adjoining pipes in my basement ceiling which came from my bathtub to my primary sewer drain pipe.  It was rusted and the adjoining pipes were of different metals and I just didn't want to deal with making 3 or 4 trips to the store to get needed parts.  The items were also somewhat difficult to reach behind other nearby plumbing.  Part of the purpose of this repair was due to deterioration of the trap and pipes, and a very slow drain speed which we had been living with for a very long time.  It was just finally time to simply get it done.
As with my previous experience, I contact Richfield Plumbing via email and conducted all correspondance with them on both occasions via email.  Pam at their office was my "correspondant" and she was always on top of eveything via email.   My wife was home on both occasions and assisted the contractor with access in the house, etc.
The plumbing items were replaced and the slow drain was determined to be a buildup of debris (common) which required the service of another person not employed by Richfield Plumbing but someone they used unless the homeowner had another preference.  That person was able to come the following morning and he used his snake down the tub drain and in toward the main sewer pipe and was able to open things up and we now have the best bathwater drainage flow we've had in several years.
I've been satisfied with Richfield Plumbing on both occasions.  They're communicative and do great work, and the plumber here at the house was very personable and honest in his work.  I would certainly consider Richfield Plumbing in the future for any needs.
