We were very happy with how both projects turned out. Beautiful work at what we felt was a reasonable cost. Rod is very helpful guiding clients where to get the most impact for the money and where you can save $ without cutting corners. He is easy to work with and have around your home, which is important for a big project! All his subs except maybe one were professional and he quickly handled the one who wasn't. (one sub was apparently used to working on new construction, not remodel, and so did not clean up the mess he left.) We had an issue with the first (mud room) project, where the cabinetmaker simply did not do the work, which threw our timing off and left us hauling laundry to the laundromat in subzero temps. The cabinetmaker met with us twice, did drawings, etc., stretched out over several weeks, then simply never built the cabinet so we had to start over with someone else, Scott Rudd, who did an AMAZING job and was hired then to do our basement bar. Overall, besides some timing issues that in my experience are common to all remodeling projects, we are very happy with Legacy and will definitely hire them again for more projects down the road. I still marvel at how beautiful everything turned out!

At this point, I am HIGHLY dissatisfied. Company is in process of correcting its errors and the unfinished window installment. However I have NEVER been spoken to in such an unprofessional manner. I've heard lots of excuses and how they are losing money because of their error -- they ordered one of the windows wrong and put a slider in instead of a double hung. They said it would be three weeks to reorder the window.
In addition, because it rained the day of the install, they were unable to wrap the exterior part of the windows that were installed correctly. I asked when will these be wrapped -- the answer: not until the correct window is installed. I asked why? They said it will cost them additional money to have those windows wrapped separately and that I will need to wait three+ weeks to have them wrapped. That every time they send someone it costs them money. So they are asking the customer to put up with an ugly exterior for three weeks in addition to any mold or organic material that will settle in there and then be enclosed forever after. I said that was unacceptable and that I really want the correct windows wrapped before then. The owner said he will do that, he will make sure I have the correct window and that they will fix the hole in the screen that came with the window -- but then he never wants any of my business again. That he doesn't want to work with unreasonable customers like me. He also told me that the bid for my sister's bathroom remodel is "off the table."
You can make your own conclusion as to if I am being unreasonable. But is that an acceptable way to treat anyone -- much less a customer? And in a business where word of mouth if invaluable?
I will provide an update once the contract work is completed and may change my rating depending on the outcome.

We had a good experience with them and they did a good job. The only problem we had is that they did not get it done within the time frame that we thought they were going to, but it was not their fault. The entire project did not get done on time because our bank delayed payment. This company did its work on time and was finished, but the whole project did not get done because payments did not get made. They were really good about it and understood. They were really good to work with. Their price was really competitive and their quality was good. They did some things for us that were over and above what I actually contracted for. They saw something that needed to be done and did not bother me with the piddly stuff, they just fixed it. If I called them they were really quick to respond. When they said they were going to be there they were so they were very punctual. I thought their professionalism was the best. They were not perfect, but they were definitely excellent in everything that Angie's List grades. The offered to give bids on other projects they were going to do, but we just have not had anything done. I found them on Angie's List.

I've been extremely pleased with the work done by Legacy Construction. Rod Larson has been very attentive and great to work with. He has a lot of integrity and has earned my trust. Specifically-- he walks the talk/does what he says he will do; there have been no unexpected cost overruns; the workmanship has been outstanding; Rod communicates well; the pricing is very reasonable; Rod staffs his team with "the guy next door" type of people (I've been very comfortable with them being in and around the house).
I'm so happy with Legacy Construction that now I'm having them replace the windows. I don't want to work with anyone else.

Unfortunately we live in an antique house so they had to do all kind of tests to determine how they could rip out the walls. After that they closed off the area and proceeded to do the above. The whole process was timely and well done. The code for distance of toilet to tub got in our way but that is not the fault of Legacy, but it still angers me that my bath has to be odd. He left the area clean and ready for use. All the workman were courteous and friendly.

Well, Legacy owners were good to work with. They were prompt on the initial call for an inspection of suspected roof damage after a hail storm. They explained the damage and were quick with the estimate. When I asked for references, they gave me ten. I did call most of the ten and got good reviews from everyone that I talked to.
The job was scheduled very soon, the next week. Rod said it would take just one day, however, there was an equipment problem (truck with crane delivering the shingles could not get into my driveway) and we had to wait for a piece of equipment. The roof was quickly stripped, the shingles put down, and the initial job finished. A late addition of replacement gutters took another day.
From initial contact to permit to installation and inspections, Legacy was easy to work using local workers who seemed to take pride in their work and were pleasant to talk with. (I told them not to bother re-installing my rain barrels into the gutter/downspout system, and then I came home and there they were, the rain barrels all hooked up! Great!)
Final payment to Legacy was delayed, however, due to requirements of our mortgage company, even though a final insurance inspection and check was prompt. Legacy was patient and understanding, though. We'd definitely use them again.

We were at a graduation party and came home to a yard full of hail. Rod and Rob came out and assessed the damage. We had our insurance company come out to take a look at everything and Rod worked very closely with them to make sure that we got what we were due. We got our roof (both house and garage), gutters and window wrap totaled. We made arrangements with Rod to have the work started towards the end of July and the roof was the first to be done. The crew of guys that were here to do the roof were very courteous and professional and there was no language barrier. They finished both the house and garage in 2 days and one would have never known we had a roofing crew at our house. They made sure to clean up after themselves each day and on the last day, spent over an hour picking up nails, debris, etc. so that we didn t have to worry about us or our dog stepping on a nail. Rod and Rob stopped by every day to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and that things were going smoothly and in a timely manner. The week after the roof was done, Rob and Rod had the guys come out to do the gutters and window wrap. Both were 1 day jobs and caused no disruption to our day. Again, Rod and Rob came out to make sure that everything was done to our liking. We also experienced some issues with our Mortgage company (to whom the checks were also made out to) in getting our money from them and Rod stepped in to help out. Who knows - we may still not have our money today if he hadn't helped out!
