We purchased a new 50" Samsung LED TV from Best Buy in Apple Valley, MN to replace a smaller 40" Samsung TV in our family room... Due to some differences in the audio hook-ups between the two sets.. (The 40" Samsung was 4 years old - being moved to another room & works great)... I arranged for the Geek Squad to set up the new TV at our home as the autio jacks were different between the two TV sets.. The new TV did not have the Autio OUT RCA duel jacks that the older TV had for the surround sound to work.... The mininum cost was $184 for this service call... The sales person at Best Buy were absolutely no help....
When Robert (from the Geek Squad arrived - by the way Robert is a very pleasant and knowledgable person)... He did not have proper tools nor any wiring or jacks in his service truck..Luckily, I had gone to Radio Shack the day before to purchase an audio jack plug and a couple of barrel couplers that I thought might be needed.  It took Robert just a few minutes to remove the old TV from the wall arm mount ( I had to assist Robert) and use the new jack wires I supplied to get the new 50" LED Samsung operational through our surround sound.  Then Robert removed the old TV wall mount (three bolts from the wall - did not have a ratchet to fit - so he used a pair of pliers) and installed a counter top swivel base for the new TV to sit.  The swivel base was one that was on the TV counter top from a previous TV.. and the four mounting screw location on the cabinet was already there... (no measurements were needed).... This took about 15 minutes to accomplish... (Less if Robert had the proper tools).... The Geek Squad then charged me another $100 over the initial $184 because Robert removed the old TV mount and installed a swivel base.  In  all, it took Robert less than 30 minutes to accomplish this task... and the charge was $284 dollars. 
I most likely, will  never use the Geek Squad again.... The intitial charge of $184 was sufficient to charge for services rendered.... and I will also have second thoughts about buying another TV from Best Buy... due to their relationship with the Geek Squad....

We were just trying to use a remote that does everything.  It just felt like we were on our own.  When we had problems they let us know that we either had to fix it ourselves or pay for another call.

I brought the modem in and told them what was happening. They asked if we wanted to see what they could do in the store and gave us the charges. After looking at the drive on their equipment, it was determined that they could "see" the information but could not recover it. As it had all our financials and pictures on it, we wanted to recover everything if possible. The gentleman was an Army Reserve personnel and an Iraq war veteran. He was extremely helpful and patient. He gave us all our options and did not charge for the things that he did. He made us feel glad we brought in the system and asked the questions we did. Will definitely use again for computer help.
