Description of Work: We were renting a home and moving to a condo. The day we had the movers at the house, the owners decided they wanted to do a walk through. Since we could not be at the walk through we asked Dinah to step in and be there to protect our interests.

Description of Work: I'm on my second home purchase with Dinah at the helm. The unvarnished truth is: she goes the extra mile, is eager to help, and is honest (too honest for a realtor); Dinah is a good ambassador for her profession. I met Dinah at one of her listings in 2008 when I first moved to the Twin Cities. She became my realtor shortly after our meeting as I like her personally and found her to be knowledgeable. We went through many homes together before finding a fixer-upper in Apple Valley. Closing on this home was a bit rough, but she worked the process and got the job done. During our negotiations with the bank (bank owned property) she found out that the other party interested was looking to buy the house as an investment property and their credit/downpayment wasn't very strong. Knowing that I didn't need to budge much to win the “highest and best” run off. Fast forward 3 years and a committed relationship later. My fiancé' and I decided to chase my dream of living on a lake. I called up Dinah, she remembered me like we were old friends that just hadn't spoken in a while. As the reader of this review I'm sure you don't want to hear all the personal stories so I'll cut to the chase. The new house had stucco issues and it was Dinah that saved me near $100K. That's right--$100K! I was being cheap and didn't want to spend the money on a moisture inspection at first. She encouraged me to do so which was a huge help. She also went to the second inspection for me and was able to gather more intel. All in we were able to move our initial offer of $500K to $390K with closing costs because of her efforts with the relocation company. Ask her about the house on O'Dowd and she'll tell you the whole story. Needless to say, if you're purchasing a stucco home she is now an expert. We went through near a dozen homes before coming back to the one we ended up buying. Dinah was candid, but in a kind way, and truly a fiduciary. She even waived a $5K commission to help our offer look better during the initial bidding process. We were competing with two other couples. She also has a wealth of referrals that will save you money. For instance the garage door guys that moonlight at a fraction of what their company would charge. Back to the new house purchase, she knows me well enough that she even kicked me under the closing table when I was going to open my mouth and insert foot -- glad she did. I've referred Dinah to my friends and will work with her on the next home purchase. We ended up keeping my first house as a rental property and she was helpful there also. This former teacher from N. Dakota has a good style and expertise. Please give her a call, especially if you're a buyer. She works for you, not for Dinah which, from my observation, is rare in her industry.
