Heating and Air Conditioning Service
Chris (the owner) was very involved in the whole process, was very responsive and prompt in scheduling our duct cleaning. We have been doing extensive home remodeling so our ducts were in desperate need of cleaning. Kort (the guy he sent to do the work) arrived promptly at 9am and was very respectful and friendly. He took off his shoes at the door (even though I told him he could keep them on) and laid canvas tarps throughout the house (where he was moving the vacuum) to protect the floors. He worked efficiently and thoroughly and even removed some mice from our vents! We have noticed a huge difference in the quality of our air--our girls (1 1/2 and 3) are not waking up with scratchy throats and stuffy noses anymore.
When we got quotes for duct cleaning, there were other companies who were cheaper but they use a much less effective method of cleaning. Forced Heating and Air uses a vacuum inside the house and vacuums and brushes the ducts from every opening. Other methods use a truck docked vacuum that they hook up to your furnace and use brushes from the openings--pulling the dirt to the vacuum. Kind of like sweeping the floor vs. vacuuming the floor. Total time Kort was at our house was 6 hours (we have a 4000 sq ft house).
The owner, Chris, also came out for a consultation about heating our basement. He gave us several different options--from the lowest cost partial solution (gas fireplace to heat when we are down there) to top-of-the-line solutions (in floor heating or zone heating and adding heating ducts since the current ducts are not big enough to support the space). He did not pressure us in any way and just gave us the facts and numbers so we could make our own decision.
Overall, we are very happy with the work and with the company.
