NORTHERN CONSTRUCTION

1. Before the project started, we discussed the plans and the budget for the remodeling. John worked with me by giving me options and letting me decide the options that suited me and my budget. There was no pressure selling!
2. Plans were laid out and costs for every step were detailed.
3. While the destruction was occurring I was picking out the materials, so there were vertually no delays and if something did come up it
was discussed and was mutually agreed upon.
4. I was very much impressed with the prep work so the rest of my house was protected from the construction, and the clean up when the job was done.
5. I was impressed on how well they cleaned up at the end of every day they worked.
6. The workmanship was superb! It was everything I asked for plus more. I woluld defintely work with Northernonstruction for any future remodeling!
7. WE STAYED ON BUDGET

When the house was first constructed, like most people, there
were things we wanted, but could not afford at the time. Some items as time
went on we added to the house, the balcony off of our bedroom was one of these
items that we indulged in 2011.
Now to the real story. We were vacationing at a resort on Marathon
Key, Florida in the spring of 2011. The room we had, had a small private
balcony off the room overlooking a Rain Forest type area. It wasn’t large 8’ by
6’, with full window glass doors as the access. The furniture again was minimal
with two chairs and a small cocktail table.
It brought back memories to both of us, of the balcony we had originally
planned on when our home was built. So when we got back to Minnesota we talked
to John Sweigart of “Northern Construction” about building a small balcony,
with full glass French doors, off of our bedroom which would not look
over a Rain Forest, but would look out over a oak forest and the Rum river.
Bottom line, we have enjoyed the balcony having coffee in the morning or a beverage in the late evening in a private/outdoor setting.

We started with an 18 by 22 ft. addition to the home...we were so pleased with the result and workman ship. John was able to reuse some of the windows from the house to the addition. He also re-designed the deck to match the addition. The attention to detail was great as well as the and quot;clean upand quot; following the completion of the addition. We also found the project done in a timely fashion. The addition was designed by John to match the house..ie: roof lines and windows.
The other jobs were done over the years identified. Showed great attention to detail such as matching stain on wood work, color matching of tiles, paint etc.
John was very detailed in his estimates of all jobs. Any changes were identified and agreed to in writing which we appreciated. The overall work was excellent and timely. Our questions were answered, any concerns addressed....all in all we are very pleased.
Most recently we needed John to adjust a kitchen counter to accommodate a new dishwasher, again we are pleased.

They were prompt and nice to work with and had great ideas.
