Great service! I called and they had a crew already in the area so someone was at my house within 30 minutes of me calling. The two man crew was very professional, gave me a ball park estimate before starting work and were very prompt on time. It took them just under an hour to complete everything. They ensured the dryer was functioning and that I was satisfied with the hook up of everything before leaving.

I replaced an electric range with a gas range so I needed a gas line installed.  The store where I bought the range recommended Metro Gas Installers, Inc. and they were right on.  Mike worked with the store and me to be available when the range was delivered.  Mike called me twenty minutes before arrival, which was exactly when he said he'd be available, and arrived as stated.  They explained what would need to be done and what it would cost.  (It's much more complicated to install a gas line that I had imagined.)  When done, Mike and his partner leveled the range and placed it where it belonged.
Great service!

Great communication, arrived on time. The work was done quickly, explained as it went and made suggestions to have a well organized installation. They cleaned up afterward and overall did a great job. They also notified me of a leak at the meter and Centerpoint had to come out and replace the meter. THESE GUYS KNOW THEIR BUSINESS!

Initially the installation went fine.  They did nice work, were friendly, and punctual. However, they did not install the stove up to code (fire resistant plates) and expected us to do the work.  They did not give us complete instructions... in fact they gave us wrong information.  Which still would have been fine if anyone had owned up to their mistake and taken care of the issue. However, when our stove did NOT pass inspection, the owner told us it was our fault and did not take care of the problem. He would not even offer to do the work at a discounted price (I would be more than happy to provide payment for cost of materials- I just feel that because his installers did not have the right materials on hand and did not give us good instructions, perhaps he could absorb the cost of labor?).  We paid to have someone install our gas stove because we are not licensed gas installers and didn't even pretend to know the city codes.  Overall very disappointed with lack of support and standing behind their work.  As this is my first house, I now believe it when people tell me good, honest contractors are hard to come by!
Response from Metro Gas Installers Inc
"In response; we installed the gas line to the stove, which did pass code. We told the homeowner the stove was too close to the wall because of the distance to combustibles- what the clearance needs to be! We told her the wall needs a heat shield- she said she would take care of it. We then offered to do work at a discounted price, the same price we would have charged at the time of gas installation. We don't do kitchen remodels, we install gas lines. We didn't design her kitchen & where the current stove sits. Mike D. Ellis, Metro Gas Inst"

The gas line was brought up to code and the appliance was installed very quickly. The team that was there was very professional and explained the situation to me and the work that was performed. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again for future needs. Great work!

Minneapolis requires a permit pulled to hook up a gas stove.  Mike and Mike (in business 35 years together) pulled the permit and were exactly on time.  When the company who sold us the stove was not on time, Mike and Mike were respectful to that business over the phone and understanding that a worker had called in sick.  Though it threw their day off by more than an hour to wait here (and they had a full day of service calls), they were professional and respectful and good humored throughout.  We had been told by the appliance company that there would be a $350 charge because our gas line hook up would have to be updated and brought up to code.  We were prepared to pay the full amount, but Mike and Mike said we only needed one of two things updated, and only charged us $295.  We would not have known differently.  If you need gas work done, professionally, honestly, patiently and fair,  these are your guys.

Called Mike on a Tuesday to set up an appointment for next day, Mike told me he was booking 2-3 weeks out typically. When I explained that I thought this was a fairly simple job and I was anxious to get the grill hooked uphe said he'd see what he could do to squeeze me in.Mike caled back that evening and said he thought he could do it Thurday or Friday.
Called back on Weddnesday and said he could be out there between 3-5 Thurday. Showed up right on time. Did a great job installing the connection and hooking up the grill. Had to cut through my decking and was thorough enough to leave some extra gas line so I
could move the grill around if needed.

Very responsive that rates highly.  We had them shut off gas in preparation for a new gas stove.  Then when they came back after the stove was delivered to reinstall they found the new stove couldn't be made flush with the wall.  They left with the stove about 3-4 inches away from the wall and said we needed an electrician.  Had an electrician come out to inset the box but that wasn't the problem - it was the gas valve that was in fact sticking out of the wall.  So we might have wasted money on the electrician.  They had to come back out a 2nd time to replace the valve - which they did.  The 2nd time out they were in a huge hurry and even though they completed the work they left a filthy mess in the house, dirty footprints and also left that plumbers putty all over my new stainless range.  This was difficult to remove.

I emailed Metro Gas Installers at the email address on their web page, which I obtained from the listing on them at Angie's List. I explained that I needed the natural gas hooked up for a replacement pool heater and provided the make and model of my new pool heater as well as a photo of the current gas hook up. Mike called me first thing the next day, let me know that he'd need to replace the regulator due to the requirements of my new heater. He also readily agreed to install a debris trap as suggested by the heater manufacturer. Mike provided the bid and explained how he manages their work. The bid seemed very fair and I didn't mind the replacement of the regulator since the original installation was 20 years ago.
Mike called me back on Monday evening and scheduled the work for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m the next day. He and his assistants arrived at about 3:30 p.m. and had the work done quickly. It looks great.
I asked Mike--after the fact--if my gas line capacity was sufficient for my new pool heater. Mike said that it was more than sufficient and, without my asking, showed me the chart that confirmed that judgment. Mike also said that he wouldn't have made the hook up if the gas pressure wasn't sufficient.
I also appreciate that Mike recommended that I get a free gas meter replacement from the gas utility due to my over all gas usage (pool heater size plus other gas appliances). Mike even made the call to the gas utility for me.
I am very pleased with their work and would use them again without hesitation.

The crew did an excellent job in an extremely timely manner.  The line needed to be run and inspected by the city before it could be hooked up.  The inspector signed off on the paperwork and within 3 hours the technician was back to connect it.  We were very impressed!

I moved into my home a year ago and knew from a prior gas leak experience that the gas company would be of absolutely no help and would merely shut off my gas and tell me to get someone else to repair it.  Who wants to be without their water heater in the middle of winter?!? I was disturbed when I couldn't find a shutoff valve next to my dryer and called Mike at Metro Gas.  He came out the next day and was very thorough with identifying the problem and explaining what was wrong.  He fixed the leak and also installed a shutoff valve for me inside the laundry room (and he had found the original shutoff valve, which was up in the ceiling).  I had mentioned I was having problems with my dryer in general not drying clothes very well and he also showed me how the venting was not really in an optimal setup.  I will definitely be calling Metro Gas the next time I have an issue with a gas line or appliance.

I felt in my discussions with the installer that he wanted to be anywhere but in my basement installing my gas line.  He said something about how he usually did larger installations.  I found him on Angie's list and when I showed him a discount coupon he didn't seem thrilled with that either.
Having said that, they got the work done.  They installed the gas line, pulled the permit, and it passed inspection, and it still works today.

Mike came out to do an estimate the same day I called and completed the work on time with quality. He has a good relationship with the city inspectors and met the regulations. I called him again this week to estimate an installation for a gas line to a barge heater. He came out the next day. Highly recommended working with Mike.

In my new home, I knew I had 1 leak at the stove top, then had thought there was  another at a fire place, but there were 2 at the fireplace. I am thankful that the team checked the whole line!

Mike was extremely helpful from the first phone call. He consistently answered my calls. He told me to give him a day's notice and his crew would be there. I gave him two days notice. He called the day before (a Sunday afternoon) to tell me when to expect him the next day. His crew came when he said he would and coordinated with the gas company. His crew was careful and efficient. They came back the next day to finish up after the city inspected the first phase of their work. He was truly the easiest contractor to work with that we've ever had!
