We got our recommendation from Menards. They told us for a gas stove it would be about $90. I contacted Kurt, he was super nice and said he could come out on Monday morning (this was a Saturday) he came out as said. We needed a new gas line, and in the end- it cost $290. In the meantime the stove from moving it in and out scratched my new kitchen floor pretty bad. He apologized over and over once he noticed it, and I thought maybe just maybe he wouldn’t charge the full price, or offer to fix the floor would have been nice. But nope. We paid the full price- and now we are stuck with a floor we have to fix.

Do NOT do business with Kurt. I sent him photos and a detailed description of the work I needed to be done to get a new gas oven range to fit properly flush to the wall. He assured me that he could easily do the job, came out for approximately 30 minutes, did not complete the job as promised and in the mean time shattered the glass on my new oven door AND had the audacity to charge me $150 for the labor. He cleaned up only the glass around the floor but not all of the glass that was left inside the warming drawer and had nothing to cover up the glass. I was left with a mess to clean, no range, no offer to help come back and get me a small countertop to carry me over and/or something to cover the glass. As I was alone in the house, and didn't know him, I played safe and wrote him the check but wrote to him later that I felt it was unjust to charge me. He replied that if I didn't pay him then he saw no reason to replace my glass door. What perverted logic!!!! In the meantime, I've been out of an oven for close to a month while awaiting a convenient time for him to come with the glass he claims he did purchase for me. He also promised me that he would not cash the $150 check until the work was complete. He lied. He cashed the check and is still claiming that I owe him another $40 for a piece he believes he needs to do the job right, which in essence is his acknowledging that he did NOT do the job right the first time. Please please please do NOT do business with this guy. He is dishonest, overpriced, and has no respect for his customer.

Kurt only took 45 minutes in and out. What a nice, knowledgeable professional man. He made sure that everything was working to my standards and cleaned up as if he was never there. I will use him again in the near future.

We hired Kurt on the recommendation of Appliance Smart of Champlin, MN. He was the only service technician they recommended for installing our new range, and we thought it would be convenient to use their recommendation. (Disclaimer: M.A.K. Daddy PSI is not a subsidiary of Appliance Smart.) The plan was for Kurt to unhook the old range on Wednesday, the new range to be delivered on Thursday morning, and Kurt would hook up the new range by Thursday afternoon. As near as I can tell, Kurt did a fine job installing the new appliance, but scheduling him was quite another matter. He decided on Tuesday that he wanted to come a day early to unhook the old range. We made arrangements to accommodate him. On Thursday, the range was delivered first thing in the morning, but Kurt left us waiting all day and finally was not able to come at all. However, he promised late on Thursday to arrive early on Friday. Early? He didn't arrive until 4:30 PM!!! What should have been a smooth two-day operation at most became a four-day ordeal of wondering when Kurt.would come. It was made particularly annoying because we spent an extra two days (Tuesday and Friday) with a large range stuck in the middle of our small kitchen, making it very difficult to reach the sink, refrigerator, and many of the cupboards. I just don't understand why it was so difficult to set a schedule and keep it. If Kurt had admitted to us that he couldn't accommodate us, we'd would have been happy to hire another technician. Honesty would have been the best policy.
And oh, yes. The end cost was $120 higher than we were initially quoted. I can understand some additional charges, but this cost was a difference of more than 92%.

They were able to pick up my new oven from the store (instead of having them come once to take out the oven, and then a second time after the other oven was picked up/dropped off) which was a huge help and installed the new ovens quickly. They were very professional and friendly and I would definitely call them again for any other appliance installation!

Kurt was pleasant to deal with on the phone. The work was scheduled quickly, and the installation was thorough and well performed. Both Matt and Kurt were prompt, professional, easy to work with, and I was very satisfied with the entire process.

He was great. He was really good and I recommended him to other people. I think there was one who came out basically and he did a good job. I would definitely use him in the future.

Overall, I was satisfied with their service. They were accommodating to my schedule and were able to come on short notice. The only issue I had was that they told me that the city codes had recently changed and a plastic tubing was required around the gas hose that connects from the stove to the piping, which would be an additional cost (approximately $60?). I didn't fully understand this new requirement and had inquired as to why the city would change this code. MAK Daddy was unable to explain to me why this new type of tubing was required and had said that they, too, do not understand why it changed. I went ahead and paid the extra cost to have the tubing installed, however I feel that professionals in their industry should be able to explain why a certain type of product is required and justify the additional cost that is imposed on their customer.

The worst customer service experience I have had by far. I had them install a microwave for me based on the recommendation from ApplianceSmart. The installer left damage to my cabinet right above the microwave. I immediately called the company to report the damage, as is requested by the invoice. When I told Kurt, the owner of the company, what had happened, he responded that it was “highly unlikely” that his installer had caused any damage, and that I “probably already had some kind of defect” in my cabinets before the microwave was installed. This was stated to me without anyone coming out to inspect the damage. Kurt stated that he would come out to look at the damage that Friday. He never showed up. When I called him again, he stated that he had been busy that day, and would come out the following Friday. Once again, he never showed up. I have left several messages since the end of December for Kurt requesting that someone come out and look at the damage. None of the calls have been returned. They did, however, cash the check for the install.

MAK Daddy was recommended to us by Appliance Smart when we bought the appliances. He had set prices for each piece with some additional costs for miscellaneous parts. We got a quote over the phone, and his employees showed up right after the appliances were delivered so they could install everything the same day for us. They even picked up the stovetop and microhood to save us some delivery fees. We were very impressed with their quick efficient service.

Because I was so pleased with the cooktop installation, I called Kurt when I found a wall oven at a garage sale. He took time over the phone to help me measure to see if it would fit, suggested how I decide if the price was reasonable and then suggested I that since I could not test its function, that I only pay half until it was installed. (It was so helpful to know he thought this was reasonable.) He asked if the owner could deliver it or keep it for them to pick up on Monday also. He called a couple hours later to see if it had worked out and to make sure that I did not lose the chance just because he could not pick it up that day. I told him we did not agree on terms and that I would go by the sale on Saturday to see if the seller changed his mind. Kurt called on Sunday afternoon, though I had not requested it, to see if I had bought it and needed it installed the next day. I did not buy the wall oven and Kurt did all this in the name of good customer service. WOW!!

This company is on the card given out at Appliance Smart. During the first visit, Kurt removed the old oven and when he told me the bill was $120, I asked if he was going to charge $130 for the install (per the rates on his card)? He said no - he'd only charge me 50-75 to install. A few days before the install date, I called him to find out if we should pick up the oven or if he would? He said he would. My husband was home during the install, and he was billed $200. When I got home that evening I called Kurt to ask what was going on, we'd agreed to 50-75? He said he'd forgotten that and would have to check his records and get back to me. He also said he charges $70 to deliver an appliance - ''how could you expect that to be free''? I'm very unhappy with his business practice. If you're going to charge a customer to deliver, you should make that clear when the arrangements are made, not when you give them the bill, and you should make sure you're billing for the correct amount.
