Walt and his sons did a nice job trimming, cleaning up afterward - even raking thru the snow to pick up all of the little branches that went everywhere! Walt was really great at communicating with me about the trimming plan, and we adjusted as he cut, as well as going out together at the end to see if there were any additional cuts I wanted him to make. He also mentioned if we noticed something later (I assume over the next few weeks), I could call and he'd come out and fix it. They chipped the wood as they went and it did not take long from start to finish. We will definitely call Walt again when our trees need trimming again.

Walt and his son's did a wonderful job at removing our tree that had fallen after a storm. He was very responsive to all communication and was able to get us a estimate quickly. He was a joy to work with and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to family and friends.

Fantastic. It went so well that I am having him come back to cut more trees down. I have even referred him to neighbors that have used his services and were very pleased.

Trees were professionally cut down, wood stacked, debris removed, on time, polite, and quick. Could not ask for anything more. I swear he vacuumed the area afterwards as it was as clean as before he started. Honestly, I could not more highly recommend anyone else, and I have used others for similar work.

There was a lot of work and I was really happy how things turned out. Walt and his crew showed up on time and worked diligently throughout the day. I felt the price was very fair given the amount of work. They also had to work on a hill which made things more difficult. During the bidding process I felt Walt was very honest, focusing on the essentials of what had to be done. He's definitely not a high pressure salesman type. He also gave me some ideas and tips on how to take care of the trees on my property which I intend to do as time permits.

Excellent! Walt came with two of his sons as Living Water Tree Service is a family business. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. Walt took the time to discuss solutions to some other trees on our property. This was our first experience with them and will call them with any future tree service needs. Thanks Walt & Family!

Walt is the guy who owns it. He's a really nice guy. He and his wife are very devout Christians. That doesn't bother too much, I'm not a Christian. I met Walt through a very odd way of dealing with things. e were out in one of the state parks and I do cross stitch, I was waiting on my husband. I was sitting on a bench and I saw Walt with his seven kids behind him. I got talking to him because we were out there geocaching. I forgot my cross stitch on the bench and Walt brought it back to the ranger station with his kids and left contact information for me because I had given it to him since his kids were interested in geocaching. He had my name and my email address. The state park got in contact with me. We had a really bad storm. We had these three trees that grew up together at the bottom of the trunk, sort of a big grouping. The one that was closest to the corner of our porch, the winds got really bad that day and was banging in to the corner of our porch on the top level. You could tell that one of these days, it was just going to rip the railing because it was pounding into it so hard. I called around and I think I found it on Angie's List, Living Water Tree Service. They were really close because he lives the next town over and they had a fairly good rating. I gave him a call and sure enough, Walt came up to the door. I looked at him and said, Hi, what are you doing here? He said, I'm Living Water Tree Service, you called me for an estimate. It was really bizarre. We've used him a couple of times. It's a very small company. It's Walt and his older children. Even his younger children get involve. If it's something that the kids can go ahead and do like pulling some brush off to one side, they go ahead and do it. Walt is a licensed arborist, so he not only climbs up trees, he diagnoses what's wrong with trees which is really nice. He'll do whatever he needs to do in order to make you happy. I had a bunch of brush that was sitting at the back of the house and I had a tree that came down at the side of the house but I can't move it and my husband's got crapped knees. I wanted to make sure that he trimmed everything else away from the house that was going to go ahead and fall on the house because we're surrounded by trees. He's got a chipper and he'll just chip it all out and dump it rather than me moving it to wherever. This huge tree top that came down alongside the side of the garage. It was $800. It took him and his kids just about all day to go ahead and do it. As a bonus, I got this big maple tree that's beside the driveway, in order to get his chipper in, he needed to go ahead and trim it up so the branches just wouldn't be brushing everywhere. He did all of that as just a bonus. It wasn't just taking off the limbs he needed to take off in order to get the truck in. He took a look at it and he said, this is going to strangle the tree eventually. He trimmed the tree like an arborist would trim a tree that needed to be trimmed back. He said, do you mind if I take off this, this ad this? This is rubbing up against this branch and it's going to cause wounds and infection. I had one that was wrapping itself around the tree trunk that was strangling it and he said, I'm just going to do it right. The he chipped it. I like them enough that they have a key to my house. When I go away on vacation, his wife Suzie comes in and we taught her how to go ahead and water orchids. My husband and I grown orchids. We have over 600 of them in the house along with carnivorous plants and broomeliads. She got a key to out house and I pay her to go ahead and water my plants. She comes in every other day. I have no problem with her having a key to my house on a permanent basis. As a matter of fact, 20 and a half years ago, when we were in London, before we went to South Africa, Suzie sent my husband this panicked email because when we left, it was warm and our orchids were still outside on our screened in porch waiting to get brought in. It was getting down to just above freezing in Minnesota. We told her that there were rolls of marine canvass along the edges and my husband puts them up as curtains in a screened in patio. Her and her oldest boys put the up, nailed them down making sure that my orchids made it through the week and a half that we were going to be gone. She did this all for basically pin money. It's not something that they do as part of Living Water Tree Service as a whole. I just asked them if they'd go ahead and do it. As a matter of fact, I was going to call Suzie again and tell her when we were going to leave. She's been here up until Sunday watering. They'\re great people. They're absolutely wonderful.

The owner and his wife are really nice people. We have used them many times. They are extremely gentle and cautious with the work they do. I remember how he gently pruned a tree in the drive way as a bonus to his work, consulting me at every point of the process. He diagnoses whats wrong with trees. He will do whatever he needs to do to make you happy. I trust them and their work entirely. I would absolutely use them again.

Owner was the one who did the estimate. Very clean, nice and personable. He came over to bid and was very professional from start to finish! The bid was done on the spot and was exactly like he had stated from the beginning. The job was done and everything was cleaned up like new. He went through all of Anoka city code and permit requirements. I will be calling them back for future services!

FANTASTIC job! I had tried two of the services nearby and found their work to be very expensive and not high quality. Walt takes his client satisfaction seriously and did a great job in a fairly complex removal of several leaning trees. He is a really good communicator.
Additionally, Walt is very knowledgeable and had good advice and suggestions for us for the future.
We will be telling all our friends about our great experience!

Walt, Isaiah, and Beth all worked together to prep the difficult tree prior to cutting it down. Once down they cut limbs and trunks to make the tree more manageable for me. Walt had warned me that he might not be able to miss the ash tree. When the poplar was down, one smaller limb from the ash had been torn off. Walt trimmed the stump of the limb on the ash tree. You have to look very close to see that any damage was done. The main 117" trunk of the poplar Walt cut off nearly flush with the ground. The larger pieces he cut in half. There's still work for me to do, but he made it much less than I was expecting.
The smaller poplar tree he also cut off nearly flush with the ground. The whole operation seemed to be very professionally done to me. I'm very glad I didn't tackle it myself. It was also nice to be dealing with a Christian. The cost of the service included the tax.

Walt Witze, the owner and operator of Living Waters Tree Service came to estimate this job two days after I called him and spoke to him (right at the time we agreed on) and then came with his crew two days after that as scheduled on time as promised to promptly complete the job yesterday in one day. Walt is a professional Arborist and very careful about how he trims trees, using a two step process so as not to injure the bark. His work is meticulous and he and his crew are ultimate professionals who value the highest quality work. At the end of the job, they blew off the driveway and then carefully raked the yard of all small branches and debris, doing a complete cleanup. This impressed me. This is the fourth time in the last ten years that I have used Living Waters Tree Service for tree trimming and damaged tree removal. Their estimates are always good and their work excellent and on time as promised. Walt Witze is a man of high character and utmost integrity and he makes sure that Living Waters Tree Service does high quality work at a fair price when promised and as promised. Living Waters has a twelve inch chipper which is the largest I have ever seen, an impressive machine that devoured the limbs and brush at a very rapid rate. This greatly sped up the completion of the job. I give Living Waters Tree service my highest recommendation for quality of work, cleanliness, integrity, promptness and fairness of price.

I was drawn to Walt's business by it's name "Living Water Tree Service", as I am a Christian and so is he. He did, as I expected, a great job and the price was much lower than other quotes. Walt is honest and is an arborist and gave us our money's worth.

Walt arrived when he said he would. Very personable and professional. Trimmed all branches away from the house. Removed dead limbs. Trees look great. Cleaned up after all was done. Very good job. All for a very reasonable price. Will use again.

Walt and his crew arrived on time and actually called before they came which was nice. He made quick work of removing the trees and cleaned the site up properly before they left. He also took the time to educate me on the other trees in my yard. He was very nice and professional. Would not hesitate to hire them again in the future. Look no further for tree service, these guys do it right.

I once again called Living Waters Tree Service (have used them a couple of times in the past few years) to remove some dead trees from a heavily wooded area in my back yard, and to trim some other branches. Walt is very nice, and committed to completing the work as requested. A couple of months later, I had to call him again because more small branches had died on a tree in my front yard. He came over the same day and removed these additional branches at a nominal fee. I highly recommend Walt for tree service.

Walt Witzke is a complete professional. He arrived on time and trimmed the trees just like we had discussed when he came and did the estimate. Walt is very knowledgeable and offered advice on things we could do to help our trees. He and his helpers cleaned up all the leftover branches and twigs. He really cares about the environment and saving trees. He is going to come back to our house later in the fall to trim our oak trees. We were very happy with his service and recommend him highly.

We are so happy with the service provided by Living Water Tree Service. I called them on Monday, April 21st in the morning thinking I'd have them come provide an estimate later in the week. Walt asked what my availability was that day and I told him I would only be home for 1 hour in the evening. He swung by in that one hour window and gave me 2 estimates - one to just drop the tree and the other to drop it, cut it up and haul it away. I called him the next day to let him know we would just like to have the tree cut down (we'd cut it up ourselves) and he said they would be able to come out on Friday morning to get it done.
They came out on Friday morning and cut it down perfectly. There was not a lot of room for error as the tree was between the house, detached garage, and shed and they dropped it perfectly in the middle of them all. They also cut the stump nice and low to the ground.
The price was very reasonable and I couldn't be happier with how responsive Walt was and how quickly they got the work done! We will definitely use Living Water Tree Service in the future!

Got a bid and agreed to trim a few oaks in my yard and cut down some junk trees that were on the edge of my lawn and in the woods. The bidding processes went well and we agreed upon a set time to trim the trees. Unfortunately, I was unable to be home the day that Walt and crew showed up to do the trees. When I came home from work and looked at the trees it looked as though they did a great job - except there were two trees that I thought were missed. Walt had told my wife that he would be back at 6 to collect. About 7:30 rolls around and Walt calls me. Late, but no big deal, I thought. I told him that everything looked good but he had missed two trees. By his reaction I could tell he was immediately upset. He said he was on his way over Wow! Walt gets out of the car and is immediately combative... He stomps over to me and tells me I'm wrong without even looking at the trees.. He is visibly mad, and tells me to go get the card he wrote up, which he said showed what trees we agreed to trim, again without even looking at the trees I thought were missed. I told him I didn't have the "card" (which I found later - there was no discernible information anywhere on this "card" that clearly defined the work) but let's go look at the trees. I showed him one tree, he said we didn't agree to cut it since it wasn't leaning over the power wire. I didn't agree with Walt at first but as we "talked" (in quotes because it was really a one sided rant from Walt) I admitted that maybe I was wrong on this one. But then I pointed at the oak in the middle of my yard and told him that I was 100% certain I told him I wanted this one trimmed. He again said (angrily) that I didn't ask for it to be trimmed. Now, keep in mind, he trimmed EVERY OTHER OAK TREE IN MY YARD. I pointed this fact out. Walt kept going back to the first tree (the one where I admitted I may have been wrong). I kept having to steer him back to the oak. I asked Walt why I would trim all but one oak tree in my yard, but he wouldn't relent, and he continued to argue with me. Finally, Walt agreed to use a manual pole saw to trim the branches. I told him I would take care of the brush. We settled up, and Walt left. Honestly, THEY DID A GOOD JOB! I don't know why he was so combative with me. I was never angry at all until he stomped into my yard and was so blatantly rude. I quickly agreed that one tree may have been a miscommunication, but even that failed to cool him down. The oak, however, was clearly Walt's mistake, and had he thought at all logically about it, he would have agreed.. I was just shocked by how he talked to me. He escalated a situation that didn't need to be escalated. The thing is - I WASNT EVEN UPSET UNTIL HE ACTED SO RUDE. I don't know if he had a bad day or what, but I've never seen such behavior, especially in a job like this where miscommunication and mistakes happen from time to time. So if you use him, know the risks. Get your bid in writing, (not just a card) and be home when he does it, or at least mark the trees. He did a great job cleaning everything up and he trimmed my trees very nicely, I was just absolutely shocked at his reaction to a disagreement that could have been handled professionally. I've never had an experience like it. He seemed so nice at first, but WOW,
Response from Living Water Tree Service
"It's sad when someone doesn't go back and look carefully at the bid we both agreed on. The bid was to trim 5 oaks, remove 2 cherry trees and one boxelder. To be frank, that was quite clear. We did all that, which was clearly written on the bid I gave [member name removed]. We never agreed to trim all of the oaks in [member name removed]. yard--there were several more. Nor did we agree to trim the two small oaks he was complaining about--he said he would take care of them himself. As far as the other tree that was in question, he decided at the bid that he would just trim it, which he did. All of a sudden he decides after the work is done that I'm supposed to remove a tree that he took the time to trim which was never in the bid. What?! We did everything we agreed to, and more, which [member name removed]. doesn't even know about, because he was so obsessed with getting the imaginary work that was never a part of the bid done that he never even bothered to get the whole story. As far as being combative with him, he was never yelled at, or anything else that I would consider "combative". Assertive and standing up for the agreement, yes. Combative, hardly! He was just unwilling to go and get the bid I gave him (right inside the house), which had the work we did written right on it. A deal's a deal, and I don't have any interest in a person trying to change the work agreement after the work has already been done because they're confused, have a bad memory, or just don't want to check out the facts (that are written down on a card inside the house we are standing next to!). We are an honest, ethical business, and do everything we can to uphold our part of the work agreement, and that has to be done by the customer as well so each of us can walk away satisfied with the work that was done."
