Description of Work: Need roof repair. Called and came very promptly. Gave me a verbal approximate estimate, said he would send a detailed estimate to me. Never received that estimate.

Description of Work: The house we had just purchased needed a new roof badly. (Complete tear off of shingles, some wood repair and new shingles) We were living out of state at the time so I did an online search of roofing contractors. Contacted Bob explaining our situation and he came out to estimate the job quickly. Lucky for us we had mild weather that December and they were able to do the job right away. He kept me informed on the job progress and when I got here in spring the new roof looked awesome and everything was cleaned up. Most importantly, no more leaks! He was great about answering any questions I had throughout the process, was friendly and professional. We are very happy.

I have a 112 year old Craftsman 3-story house in southern Minnesota, and as one might imagine, things tend to wear out and need replacement. In my 9 years at this location, I have had two or three roof problems, and although I have called every roofer listed in the book and a couple who are not listed, Rightway is the only company that has ever followed through with both a visit and a written estimate. Therefore, they have gotten my business. The roofing season in Minnesota is shortened by snow and ice that can prevent roofers from going up on a roof for several months, so timing is critical. I started trying to hire someone in late March, and three roofers came and looked at the job. Rightway's estimate and a contract arrived a couple of days after they looked at the project. My only complaint was that after they had received my signed contract, it took them over a month to get back to me to schedule the job, and this scheduling happened only after I contacted them twice--a week between my two phone calls. But once they had my attention, they were able to schedule their work within a couple of weeks. They showed up on time the day they said they would come, demoed the damaged shingles, cleaned up and hauled away the mess, installed new shingles and finished three days later. They wasted no time. Their workmen were careful and well mannered, and the quality of their work seems to be good. As their truck was pulling away, one of the other two roofers I had called for an estimate six or eight weeks earlier phoned me to talk about doing the job, but I had to tell him that the work had been completed by someone else. My roofing problems stem from a batch of bad Certain-teed shingles that were sold in this region ten or twelve years ago, and I am eligible for a Class Action settlement with this company. Bob at Rightway furnished me with a detailed invoice that I can send with my claim. Rightway seems to understand how to handle the business aspect of the roofing industry as well as the actual application of the roofing materials, and we need more of that from contractors here in south central Minnesota. I hope Angie's List provides motivation for more contractors to conduct their business in a more professional manner.
Description of Work: They erected scaffolding, removed damaged shingles and tar paper and installed new tar paper, shingles and trim pieces on two sections of my roof. While up there, they scooped crud out of the gutters.

Thank you Member for your review. I understand your frustration with the scheduling. We are usually booked monthes in advance sometime (in the winter) seasons in advance. We also have to consider customers with immediate concerns, such as leaking, and we have to work around the weather, snow, ice, rain, wind (even too windy on a tear off day is bad). We usually can give a customer a time frame but not an exact date, calling about a week before we start. thanks Laural

It went very well. We were well pleased with the work that was done. Bob Hanson is great to work with. His crew was great. They cleaned up the yard every day before they left for the day, so we didn't have to do any of that work. They were all very nice and good workers. Bob took care of any insurance issues that came up, and he guaranteed his work for five years.
