St. Croix Tree Service (SCTS) was very professional from estimate to cleanup. They came when they said they would, both for estimate and for work. Their workers were pleasant and proficient, paying close attention to safety as they worked. SCTS was one of three services I had estimates from (a fourth, a friend no longer in the business, also provided general advice); SCTS was the least expensive and provided the most professional estimate, discussed all options, provided information on their liability insurance before I asked for it. They are staffed with certified arborists (they list 14!) and have been in business since 1971. The invoice came in the mail a few days after the work. Thoroughly a good experience from start (estimate) to finish (payment).

The crew arrived exactly on time and they were courteous, genial, and very patient with all of our questions. Absolutely stellar! These guys were professional in every way, and they sure don't mess around. They got in, did all the work we asked in about 5 hours (and it was a LOT!). They were super careful of existing gardens, trees, etc. Top-of-the-line quality work! We had them remove several dead trees, as well as clear out much of the Buckthorn from all the way around the house (we have a 1.7 acre lot)....when they were done, it looked like we had an entirely new yard....I couldn't believe how well they cleaned everything up as well. Awesome group of people, all the way from the beginning....the Estimate process, scheduling and all the way through the job. And by the way, the actual work came in under the original estimate. We would definitely recommend these people to any and all who need this type of work done!!!

They are excellent. Everything about them is first class. I am getting ready to call them back to do some more work for me.

I've had previous experience with them. Their employees were very knowledgeable about trees and tree diseases. They have the equipment needed to move trees or cut them down.

I called St Croix Tree Company and told them I wanted a tree put in my yard. They had Dave call me back. Dave was great to work with. He helped me decide what type of tree to put in. They came today and put the tree in. I am very happy with the whole process.

It went really great. They were on time and did it in one day with no damage to our property or our neighbors. They were cheaper than our other quotes.

I had a tree branch fall on my house. It happened on a Saturday night and I was trying to get someone on Sunday. They dropped the ball a bit with their initial communication but they did call me back. I was afraid that they would cut down the whole tree but they said that it was not necessary. They did a good job and cleaned everything up.

While they were working in our neighbor's yard, they drove their heavy machinery through our yard. They didn't bother knocking or talking to us prior to driving through our yard. They could've easily drove up a lane next to my neighbor's house that was free and clear. Now we have a large tread in our yard. When I talked to an employee, the response was, "I thought it was their yard, I didn't know." When I called their office, they apologized, and they told me told they would talk to their employee about this situation.

We found them very helpful in terms of providing advice in terms how to take care of the problems we were having with our trees. I would consider them very professional and courteous. They provide accurate estimates. They are very good with following up as well.

Got a postcard promoting a midwinter check-up on your trees and since I knew I needed some work done I had them come out. Estimator left a very easy to understand bid and I reviewed it and called them to see if I had all the trimming done what kind of bulk price could I get. Estimator made me an offer and I gave them the go ahead. Work was completed quickly and the clean up afterward was great. I have used St Croix in the past and have no problem recommending them to anyone.

All went very well. They came when they said, did a good job transplanting the trees, left everything tidy.

The sales rep was Kent. He was extremely responsive and quick to answer any of my questions. I spoke to him via phone and email. The price was reasonable because the trees were very large. Their clean up was excellent.

Called company and Guy came out to give me an estimate. Left estimate with added suggestion to clean out under my two pine trees for $70.00. Talked to Guy and gave him the go ahead. He told me the approximate timing on when it would be done and called a day ahead of time to let me know they would be there the next day a 8:00am (I wanted to be home when they did the job). Talked to Guy about removing bottom branches on pine trees and he said it would be a good idea and the cost would be $100.00 more. Came out right on time and had job done in two hours. Also did neighbors maple tree.

I have used them for years and recommend them highly. They are very professional. They first send a person to meet with you and he draws and marks the trees that you want pruned and exactly where you want them pruned. The crew then comes out and works with that drawing. If you are at home, they are more than willing to have you come out and check or see if there is anything else that you want pruned. They are all very nice and I like them a lot.

I haven't heard from them since I spoke with someone on Friday July 15th to discuss the job. I called St. Croix yesterday July 19th to ask if they had any idea when someone was going to come out to my house to estimate my brush pile and they said that I could leave a voicemail if I would like. I declined and hung up. Intially I was eager to work with St. Croix because their minmum charge for service was $100 and thought my brush pile wouldn't be much more than that. I guess the potential for my job to pay any divendends was not worth the time or effort.

The salesman, named Guy, was worthless. He promised that the trees would be cut down in February and the stumps ground in March, all before the ground thawed, so that the equipment would not leave deep ruts in the lawn. When I returned from a vacation on March 17, the trees were still standing and the ground was thawed. The next day I called him and left a voicemail message. He drove to my house later that day, and claimed that since his order said "February/March", he wasn't really late in doing the job. After I threatened to give the job to his competitor, he scheduled his crew to arrive three days later. The crew arrived and did a good job of cutting down the trees. Because the ground was soft and soaked, I insisted that they hand-carry all of the cut wood out of the yard to their truck, rather than drag it, as they typically do. They were very cooperative. Guy promised that somebody would be back within two weeks to grind the stumps. Instead, it took 5-1/2 weeks for somebody to return to grind the stumps. So, the salesman did not keep one promise. The men who did the work, on the other hand, were great. They tried to make up for Guy's failures. If you must go with St. Croix, make sure that you get a salesman other than Guy.

They were very professional, it was outstanding service and excellent prices. They were working at our neighbors today. That was the first and only time I've used them.

From the call to the final planting everything went great. I coordinated the pricing over the phone and went to personally select the trees from their property just east of Hudson. The planting process went smoothly and I appreciated the way the crew was careful to not damage the landscape when using their Bobcat. I plan to have them back next year to plant more trees.

I don't recall the exact price, but it was around $400. The guy that came out was super nice, efficient and went above and beyond. I had some stumps to deal with and he even redid some work on a couple stumps I had another firm grind. I will definitely be using them again when the next set of weed trees are removed.

The crew at St. Croix Tree service did a great job moving a tree from one area of our yard to another area of the yard. They took great care in making sure they did not damage the yard and took great strides to handle the tree with loving care. Considering the huge tree spade they had to use, I am amazed only one small branch broke off the tree. They cleaned up extremely well, too. The tree did go into shock as we anticipated, but overall the tree should recover. I have been telling everyone about this great company!

They did fine. The supervisor came back about 2 months later because I thought the trees had been stressed. He came to make sure they would be ok, which I greatly appreciated.

Overall, everything turned out excellent. They cleaned up everything.

Chris was able to come to our home within a couple of days of our calling. He advised us on our project and gave us an estimate that day. The crew was at our house the next day. They completed the work exactly as we wanted it.The clean up was excellent. We have a very large tree that also needs to be removed and will definitely have St Croix Tree Removal do the job.

A representative came and consulted with me for over an hour - recommending what we could do ourselves and discussing different options. Contacted me in advance and crew showed up and completed the work as stated, cleaned up after themselves. I have a large wooded lot and large old oaks to trim as well as multiple other trees and bushes. A very positive experience.

We live in a heavily wooded area. They are very responsive. They know what they are doing. They give excellent value for the money. We have very bad luck with tree services in the past.
