They handled each tree and shrub uniquely and carefully. The made a plan for each tree. They are wonderful, caring and careful. They created a plan to trim the trees and shrubs while keeping them healthy. This company is really something!

It was great. They cleaned the whole mess up. They did everything I needed to have done. I can’t complain a bit. They were here exactly when they said they would be here. It didn’t take as long as I thought and everything was cleaned up perfectly. It was great. I really didn’t price around too much since I had heard of these fellows and they were really good at what they did. They were right on top of things. I can’t say enough good things about them. I recommend them to others.

Scott came over to put together the bid. He was really nice and answered all my questions. It took 4 men, a crane, a cherry picker and their waste truck a full morning to take the big tree down. It was amazing to watch!!! One problem I had was that they forgot to call me and tell me when they were taking the tree down. So I almost wasn't there for it. That really p***** me off, but I got over it, realizing that they meant to call me, and this was just a case of too many balls in the air and one was dropped. :( But they did a great job, even took care to cut the huge stump in back flat so I have a nice, massive stump/table in my back yard. (I decided not to have the stump ground, because all the bids I got for that were crazy huge.)

The guy that came out was on time; he was very nice and presented himself professionally. He said he would get back to me on what was the probable cause of a tree dying. He took time to answer my questions as best he could. He also provided estimates on the cost for lawn and tree service for next year as well as tree removal this year. The prices were very high. He also said there is only one person in the entire company that does lawn service, and this is a fairly new service for them. I asked if there would be any kind of discount if we pre-pay, and he indicted that he thought there would be. He took my e-mail address and said he would get back to me on both a diagnosis of the tree and any possible discounts. It's been a week, and I have not heard from him, so I am giving him a poor rating for responsiveness.

The 2 man crew was very professional and extremely good at their job. My neighbor was amazed watching them know specifically which branches to remove and which ones to prune all while climbing the tree and using a harness instead of heavy equipment.. The trees were all pruned nicely away from decks, garages and canopies raised without removing major live limbs. They cleaned up all branches and debris and left the place looking like they weren't even there. Outstanding work!

They're a little higher price but the quality of work and professionalism makes up for the price difference. They come in with a knowledgeable crew and the equipment to do it right. They came in and out. They're safe, they respect your property and they understand their work and they were superb about it. I would tell my neighbors to use them and don't even look for somebody else.

We were impressed with the service provided. The work was done quickly and professionally. Clean-up was done well. The price was below competitive bids.

Not only were they excellent, they were very reasonable. They came in and did it right away and then they sent me a $5 refund because they felt like it was $5 less than they had quoted. I was astonished how fast they did it and how clean everything was.

A three-person crew arrived on schedule. They took the time to review with me what I wanted to have accomplished. The lead crew member did most of the trimming. Person two served as his helper, and person three did much of the removal of material to the chipper. During past visits this company provides a person who actually climb into the trees to accomplish the trimming, rather than working from a lift. This time was no exception. Every expectation was met by this friendly, professional trio. The best part was the entertainment value of the guy climbing in the trees. All limbs and branches were removed, and the lead checked in with me when he was finished to allow me inspect the work and obtain my approval. This work was done on an hourly rate, and the lead also informed me at the end of the conversation that he was clocking out of this job for payment purposes. I was immensely satisfied with the outcome of the efforts provided by this company. I recommend Saint Croix Tree with no reservations, and I will certainly hire them again.

I filled out the online request for an estimate on a weekend and St Croix was out the next business day to assess and give an estimate. They gave us a written exact quote the same day. When I hired them they said they'd be out by the end of the month and were here within about 10 days--just as soon as the temps got to a reasonable working degree. Chris called the day ahead to say they were coming and allow us time to move our vehicles for the work. I had gotten estimates from other services that ranged from $2100 to $1100 for one tree alone and that did not include removal of the wood or stump grinding. St Croix quoted me far less for 2 big trees with removal of wood and the stump grinding. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up the yard afterwards. The only sign they were here are the stumps that they will return to grind and the tire tracks in the snow from the bucket trucks (which is good because now my little chihuahua has places to "go" without getting buried :) ). I would definitely call them again for any tree work we need done!! Thank you St Croix Tree Service; I wish I had known about you for previous tree work!!

They were punctual and did a good job; they cleaned up well and did what we asked them to do.

Very well, it was a tricky remove needing two crane trucks. The whole remove took less then 8 hours, . They cleaned up the area , and returned in about a week as stated to remove the stump. Very professional, polite with attention to detail. I will be calling them back for additional work

They showed up on time, cut down the trees, cleaned up after themselves, and charged me the quoted price. No problems.

We had a large willow tree in our backyard. First, we planned on having it trimmed, but when I called for estimates, St. Croix was the first to come out and they recommended removal. Guy, who came out for the estimate, took the time to crawl up into the tree and tell us squirrels had burrowed down the middle into it, almost to the ground. We got several other estimates and looked at another company first, but after an initial estimate, they more than doubled their price. St. Croix came in, removed the tree, with a 4 ft diameter base, all in one day. They also removed a smaller elm tree which was in the fence line, for an additional small fee. They were courteous and professional. They were timely, even with the damp weather we had this spring and answered each of my phone calls when I was calling for timelines. They put down cardboard to eliminated tearing up much of our grass. The crew was here by 8:30 am and done by about 2 pm. Initially, they said it could be up to a week before the stump grinding crew came in, but after calling to see if they could come faster, since we were replacing our fence, the stump was ground up within 2 days. The final bill was exactly what they had first estimated and we were very pleased with the work.

The project turned out really well. They did a very professional job. The cut that they made on the big maple tree was done in the right way. They did a good job cleaning everything up. The thing I liked the most is that they sent someone out to evaluate the project and he said it would be too dangerous to send someone up the tree to cut the large branch off, so they brought a truck with a big boom arm to do it safely. I appreciated them not taking the risk. They did a beautiful job at a great price.

City forester informed us that the elm tree was diseased and had to go; I contacted several tree service companies and got wildly different estimates. I think the worst was $4000.00. Anyway, a neighbor had St. Croix work on their trees recently and highly recommended them. I contacted St. Croix and they were out in a day or two with an estimate and lots of documentation on their expertise and credentials. They weren't local, but I decided to take the chance. They were the lowest of four estimates and accomplished the work without any additional cost. Almost impossible to find a contractor today who doesn't tack on additional fees for something or other. Anyway, I was impressed by their work, how well they were organized, and their follow-up contacts.

They were here from morning to late in the evening. They did really good work and clean up after themselves. There were tons of branches all over the place, but they did well in cleaning up.

They did really good job. In general they were very easy to deal with. There was one misunderstanding, that I think was more about personal things of one of the crew members. There was a mistake made by them, but it was fixed. So I have no complaints about them. They did good work. I know they are not the cheapest, because my neighbor had some work done and he had two companies bid on it, and he didn't choose them because he could get it done cheaper. I wasn't unhappy with the price. They were here when they said they would be here. I think I would use them again.

The entire experience from first estimate to completions were great experiences. The service was on time and the crew were careful, friendly and neat. They cleaned the debris and returned to grind stumps and roots in a timely fashion. I asked them to also level and seed the back yard site, which they did. I have contracted with them several times and always been more than happy with the work and the people. The bids were always competitive and the work was top notch.

I needed some trees removed in my back yard. I called three companies for estimates. St. Croix Tree Service responded immediately to my initial call; came out two days later for an estimate, and performed the service the following week. Of the three estimates, theirs was the cheapest. The work was excellent, the workmen congenial and obliging, and the clean up thorough. I would heartily recommend them.

They came in and gave an estimate for this really large tree. When they came in and took it out and it was actually cheaper and took the price down.

We were very pleased with the overall service, from estimate to completion. The workers who came to remove the trees were efficient, using serious machinery to lift one tree off the garage without creating further damage, and getting into a tight space where a second tree had started to lift out of the ground. Not only did they cut up and remove the trees, they ground the stump to leave just a small taproot behind. We felt for the price that we received more service than we could have gotten from the other services we contacted.
