Hair Salons/Barbers
1. We had to pay before the service was provided.
2. The stylists did not ask what my children wanted. They had to be told. The stylists did little or no talking with them.
3. The instructor did not ask what the children wanted or give the students any guidance except for telling my son's stylist to push down harder on his head with the clippers.
4. The instructor did not check their work.
5. One daughter's cut took three hours, the other over two (and they weren't complicated cuts).
6. The stylists did not put a towel under the neck when washing hair or provide a towel when raising head from sink to catch dripping water. (It seemed like these stylist had never been to a professional salon before or they would have just known these simple acts.)
7. We had to go to another salon to have their haircuts repaired. The manager/stylist there was appalled and said she was considering hiring students from that school but would now reconsider.
8. Either they should be paying people to come in to be practiced on or have modicum of hair cutting knowledge/experience on real live people before being able to charge.
9. Aside from hair cutting experience, the students are not being taught professionalism and how to interact with customers. Both are a huge part of creating a clientele and being successful.
