I have had Comcast in the past- it is mediocre and professionalism wise it has always had a strong repuation of arrogance and incompetence which can only go with a cable monopoly.
My Uverse was acting up so I made the bad mistake of trying Comcast again. Waited most of the day for an installer- appointment cancelled for no reason. No call, no email.. nothing. Called to get another date and an explanation and was passed around to a series of bored, lazy sales reps who couldn't care less. An installer showed up THREE WEEKS LATER. Ha ha.
By then, of course, I got DISH instead and love it- price quite comparable, too.

n short, COMCAST is still the same corrupt, incompetent monopoly in some areas of SE Michigan- Heed the other reviews and avoid.

I like the customer service that they provide. They are always so friendly and nice whenever I need to call in for repairs or questions about my bill. I will continue to use them in the future.

I will never ever (ever) deal with COMCAST again. It has been about 5 or 6 years since I used them. We always dealt with them for Internet. What happens with them is that once your contract is up with them, and it is a yearly contract, you had to renegotiate everything. What they did was, when our year came up, and I was busy - this was before your cellphone would announce to you "Hey, negotiate your Comcast bill this month" - the cost was around $75 a month, and they charged us $150 without even telling us. I called them and I said, "I'm sorry, but shouldn't you be looking out for your customers? Looking out for them and taking care of this, and call me and say,' Hey, I thought I'd let you know your contract is coming up, do you want to talk about the prices?' " I think that would be basic professionalism. No, they want it to lapse and they want to overcharge you. So I complained to them and they were not going to give me my money back, so I said "Then we're done, and I'm never doing business with you again." I will never go back to Comcast. They are unprofessional, they are not looking out for their customers, they are overpriced - you name it. I do not like anything about Comcast. I wrote my Congressman about these people. I got a response from him about it too. At that time there were no other cable companies in the area so they had a monopoly. They suggested the alternative of a satellite company, but then you have to have a dish screwed on to your roof. That was not appealing to me. My wife and I went a year without cable TV because we were gunshy. Then we found another company.

We've been using Comcast for 10 miserable months. The quality of the equipment we are leasing is abysmal. We are on our 5th cable box in 6 months. All our boxes have had problems. Overall, the experience has been horrendous. We've never had such problems with a company in our lives. We have been left on hold for literally hours. We get bounced from department to department. The service in terms of the functionality and usability of the DVR, is probably from 2000 or 2002. They are unfriendly and not willing to fix their mistakes unless you poke them on it repeatedly. We feel we are paying too much for the service. If we had the option, we would emphatically not continue with them.

We didn't have a different choice. It is a packaged deal and it is not cheap. Their service is pretty good and there is always a room for improvement. We have no other choice. The price is competitive. They have never been late.

We have about 6 years experience with Comcast and the only reason we stay with them is that there is no viable option. The billing is usually inconsistent. We do not purchase anything additional during a billing cycle and yet the bill amount can vary up to $2. The customer service is mediocre, at best, and tech support consists of someone sitting at a computer and reading off the steps that the system tells them to, it seems most of the phone techs have no real knowledge. As far as reliability of service - that is the worst of all. We lose internet access, and consequently phone service, intermittently on a regular basis. The TV signal comes and goes and has a lot of pixilation (SP?) (where you get a breakup of the digital signal).

I had a billing issue with them that I'm still trying to work out, but other than that they have been okay. I will stick with them for now.

We have been with them for 6 months. They offer more movie channels, they are cheaper, and offer extra services like you can see who is calling on the TV. When they came they were great.

We are switching to a competitor. My wife complained because there was suddenly a $200 on her bill, and she had no idea what it was for. They didn't do a very good job of explaining. They kept giving her different dates for the end of the two-year contract. I think all of those companies are horrible to work with. I don't like any of them.

I spend way too much. They charge too much for what their service is, but their service is good. In order to get one thing, one has to take the whole bundle. If there's stuff in the bundle that one doesn't want or need, they should be able to pick and choose.

TV Service - Cable
In the 25+ years I have been with Comcast, I have had numerous complaints, but mostly bit my tongue. This story highlights the most recent event, the straw that broke the camel's back. We've all heard of people stealing Cable services, but have you ever heard of a cable company steeling from customers? You guessed it, Comcast did from me. I cancelled my TV services in May of 2011, and I turned my boxes back in. I kept my Internet services however, and I was told that the price would increase as a stand alone service. I accepted that. Several weeks ago, I figured out a way to view my paperless bill online and I discovered that I had been billed for "TV Services", some $8.00/month. This had been going on for almost a year. When I inquired, Comcast told me that they had no record of one of my cable boxes being returned. I insisted they do a search, and sure enough, they located it. I then asked to be reimbursed for all the charges since they admitted that it was their fault, i.e. billing me for something I didn't even have. Their reply was "Sorry, sir, we can only refund the last 90 days" and "it was your responsibility to look at your bill". Hello, a courtesy call stating that they didn't receive a cable box would have prompted a more responsive investigation into the problem. I also had signed up for a paperless bill and thought that it would be a convenience and protect me from predators. Little did I suspect that Comcast would be stealing my money from right under my nose. I made numerous calls to them and talked with different people, but the story was still the same. Oh, and two weeks after I informed them of their mistake, they still billed me for it again! Yes, I've discontinued all services from Comcast. Yes, I divorced my cable company and have a new Ex (Ex-finity)
Tired of lousy service from a giant with little regard to their customer's loyalty? Look for other avenues such as Satelite, 4G Networks, Netflix, Redbox, and for a few dollars, you can get many High Def TV channels absolutely free through an good indoor antenna. One month of cable services could pay for the antenna.

We spend about $115 a month for that service. We don’t have the provider that we would have liked to have gotten, so they are our second choice provider. The price is high, but the service is good. We will continue to use them for a while.

Made multiple appointments with them, technician never showed up resulting in several wasted days off of work. Apologized when we complained, but we still haven't had anyone come to do the work. Only continue doing business with them because we have to.

Both Comast INTERNET service AND their cable TV cut out ten to twelve times per hour, leaving you hanging at the crucial point in the game, with a half-downloaded song that you paid for and other inconvenient times. You must go through no less than and usually more than seven generic menus on their customer hotline before you're placed on hold once for a timed 38 minutes. All so you can pay THEM money! If I had any choice in service I'd drop them in a SECOND, and I'd pay more money to anyone else.

My service went out one day. I noticed a white van pulling away from my house. It didn't have any signage on it. I called Comcast to come out a fix my service. the soonest that they could come out was the next afternoon. I ended up discovering that they had disconnected my service. They had disconnected it at the green box that is at the front of my lawn. It took me 3 hours to discover their mistake. I called them and asked for a refund which I has done in the past for outages. I never received a refund for this or any other outage. They have just double billed me too. I called to get a refund and the person at the help desk was wanting me to fax him my credit card statements and by bank account statements. I didn't because it sounded fishy. I didn't really think he needed them for his work, maybe to rob me of my identity. He ended up disconnecting me after I was on hold for 45 minutes. I ended up calling the next day and no one asked me to fax that information. Bad service!
