"To go with our other response, you stated your deposit was returned, we do not take a deposit on repairs. We do require a credit card number if the repair is being sent to the manufacture for service but we do not run the card. This sounds like you took it to a camera store that forward the repair to us."

He said he might, but the iris was jammed and the focus helical out of alignment. All total lies, as I have been inside the lens. Either he didn't know what he was doing, or he was fishing for a large repair bill.

"This lens was looked at by the tech and then shown to me, the focus would not even turn and the iris would not move. We did not even want to quote a price to work on the lens because of all the damage. Also because the lens was taken a part by the customer and parts are no longer available for this model."

I've used them about 4 times over the last 15 years. They are really good. They are reliable and reasonable. They are worth the drive. They charge for what is wrong, rather than just a blank fee. With my Olympus I would have had to have paid $100 no matter what was wrong and they ended up charging me $60 for what was wrong. They are very specific about the repairs. It is free for them to look at it. They are really honest and they repair all brands. They are the only ones that repair Nikon. They are reasonable and they do a good job.

They were quick, their instructions were clear and they gave me the chance to correct the problem rather than simply saying, "bring it in." When I wrote to say thanks, they wrote back saying they were glad they could help! I will definitely turn to them again in the future and recommend them to others!

When I dropped the camera off, I was told that there would be a $40.00 charge to check the camera out. That charge would be applied to the bill should I decide to go ahead with the repair. In this case, after the camera was checked out, that ended up being the price for the repair. I was very pleased with their service, charges were made clear up front. I was phoned with an estimate before the repair was made, and the repair was done in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
