He was rock solid. This one wasn't bad, I think this one was $170. He is coming back out to do some specialized work. He's ordering some parts and doing some specialized work for about $700. It'll be a lot of work...extending it back actually on the house. He's an A all day. I thought his prices were really reasonable. He was prompt, clean, professional...real organized.

Tim Burt confirmed the appointment, showed up on time, and inspected the chimney. Although I had expected that it would need to be cleaned, Tim told me that the chimney looked fine and that it did not need to be cleaned. He charged $35 for the visit, and that was that.

I asked him to go on the roof to make sure the masonry was OK but he said it looked fine from the ground and did not go on the roof. I honestly thought that would be a part of the service, my roof is very easy to get up on and I would have preferred to have the masonry around the chimney inspected since I had recently purchased the house.

Our chimney was very dense with creosote buildup and needed serious help. We had to have it done on a Saturday so the cost was slightly more than during the week. The chimney sweep came and got right to work. We had a creosote plug in the chimney and the stove needed cleaning as well. It took a while but the work was excellent and he told us what we needed to do to keep the stove and chimney in good shape. He was a bit grumpy when he first arrived due to our having to cancel the previous Saturday, but that had no effect on his work and he was very informative. As the day progressed his disposition improved tremendously. I would definitely call him again and highly recommend him. This guy knows his business.

The work went very well. He was a little late, but called in advance to let us know he was running behind. The job was done quickly, quietly and cleanly. He gave us a small discount since there was no travel time between jobs.

Don't have anything to compare to but he seemed knowledgable. Prompt. Cleaned up after work.
I feel this is a tricky service as he did say we have had chimney fires in the past based on what he could see/detect when cleaning our chimney. We have not noticed anything like that and use our fireplace (wood burning) all the time in the winter. This is scary! Not sure about our next step with regards to repair as this person just recommended that we and quot;keep an eye on itand quot; and get chimney serviced once a year.
