"Thank you for your continued business [Member Name Removed]."
Of course I cannot judge the durability of their work until next Spring but from the looks of it, I am very happy with their work.
"I am so sorry that you feel this way-after review of your records at our office your driveway was completed on September 22nd and not mid October as you stated. We do not sealcoat after October 10th in any given year. Initially when I came to look at your driveway--we noticed that a product from home depot(a rubberized trowel on crack sealant) was used on the edges of your driveway all the way around it and multiple areas throughout the center of the driveway. You stated that your husband was just trying to help it. At this time I told you that in these areas there could be a issue with the sealer sticking as it is made and designed to absorb into the asphalt. When there is a product creating a barrier between the asphalt and the sealcoat the sealer is not allowed to absorb in to the pavement as it is designed to do. On our estimate it does state that we have a 1 year warranty on products but restrictions do apply. Furthermore it also details in our information packet exactly what our warranty is and specifies that sealer needs sunlight to cure properly therefore areas "that receive little to no sunlight are not covered under the warranty". There is one area at the end of driveway that gets hardly any sun if any and this was the area I was referring to. In these areas that receive little sun the main issue is that when it gets wet from rain--it stays wet for days at times and rapidly will break down the sealer. You voiced your concern in early march I believe and I immediately came to look at the job that was done. When I arrived I seen the areas that the trowel crack filler was applied it did not stick (along the edges about 1 foot in on the entire driveway almost and areas where it was applied in the center--home depot customer applied rubber filler.).as was explained to you that it most likely probably wouldn't in those areas as the material used by your husband was a crack filler and not a surface protectant and was not meant to be used in the manner that it was. We firmly stand behind our products and service and with that being said I contacted you to try to work something out that would be reasonable for both parties and offered to reseal your 5327 square foot driveway for $100 are labor cost only. At this point you said you would talk with your husband and get back with us. You never called us back to talk further on the topic to come to a resolution. Which we were more than happy to do something for you and I believe our attentiveness to the matter shows we were willing. The reasons the restrictions are in our paperwork is because we have done this for over 20 years and can tell when the sealer will be affected in a certain area. I am very sorry that you were unsatisfied with the job and if there was a better product in existence that would last better in the shaded area we would use it, but unfortunately it does not exist. In regards to the home-depot homeowner applied rubber filler used as a surface sealer--we understand your husband was trying to help the driveway but since it was applied as a surface protectant and not a crack filler a asphalt sealcoat will never stick to those areas no matter what you use or how many times you do it. If you would have called us as you said you would im sure we could come to a just resolution as we strive to make every customer a happy customer. With the lack of a return call on your end I believed the information I shared with you made sense and you fully understood the reasons of it not holding up in these problem areas as explained and that was why you never called us back. Again I am sorry you are unhappy and I thought that resealing the driveway for $100 was a reasonable solution above and beyond what we should even being offering as all of the above was conveyed before the job was done. I also want to state that the sealer did stick to 70% of the driveway(just not where the home depot product was applied and the extreme shaded area at the end."
