I think they had to come back to do some other things.  I would tell a friend that I went through five different managers trying to fix communication problems.  I like the job just not the aggravation I had to go through to get it done.  It was average for price.  I guess there professionalism was okay.

Most work occurred between June and September. Fixes dragged on into January.

Pros:

Design consultants were very good. Prior to final design, they had a walk through with the sub-contractor who would actually perform the labor.  They were not pushy and were accommodating when we said that we would be purchasing some features from other specialists. It was nice though to have one-stop shopping at Lowes for accessory items ? microwave, faucets, disposal, etc.

The designers ordered more trim items from the cabinet manufacturer than were required in the long run and Lowes easily refunded their cost when the project was completed.

Efficient demolition and initial installation of cabinets and flooring. Also, very good re-painting of all areas including the ceilings. Kitchen walls had previously been red.

Cons:

Lowe?s requires 100% prepayment of material and labor. This is one of the reasons that we contracted replacing large windows with a specialty store that only required 50% down.

Item Delivery: Items were delivered directly to our house randomly. A replacement cabinet drawer came as two pieces ? one via UPS and one by US mail. Items showed up with little or no notice and some were left outside.

Communication: Frustrating lack of communication to complete the last few items on the ?punch list?. Confusion whether to deal with the sales person, the project manager or the sub-contractor.

I did get a new counter-top and sink and faucets in my kitchen. I was very happy with them. Except what they said would take six weeks took about four months. so they gave me a $400 gift card because the person that was scheduled to cut it was so busy, so they said we are going to give you to somebody else. He came over and one day and I had it in a couple weeks so I was happy with that guy. And it was somebody that Lowes gave up to hire this other guy and he was way behind. But I'm happy with the work that they did. I am very happy with that. They sent out one of their contractors. I called them and they told me that they were just so swamped. And so Lowes called me in a matter of minutes and said they had somebody else for me and I was about to say forget it when they said they would give me a $400 gift certificate. And I got a new water softener with that. It worked out. They did a very good job. The people that came did a very good job, they just should have given him some work sooner than waiting until the other one was swamped. Because it takes a while to cut marble and quartz and granite. They were just extra busy.

Ryan, the Lowe's sales rep, was very helpful in our selection of the door in addition to being extremely patient and understanding of my husband's speech disability which impair's his ability to communicate with others effectively. Nick, the installer, did the same, even being kind enough to let my husband participate in the installation process which was good therapy for him, since his stroke in 2010. Nick not only treated my husband with respect and dignity, he treated him as though nothing was different about him and made him feel like "one of the guys" again! Oh, did I also mention Nick was also extremely polite and prompt with both confirming the arrival day and time? A very punctual young man....he was right on time! That, I think, says a lot about the kind of folks Lowe's seeks and elects to employ. Though I wish the door had been "on sale" at the time of our purchase, can honestly say we have no complaints and are very happy with our purchase, the installation and the follow-up by Lowe's customer service department to ensure we were satisfied customers. We've had a few visits to this location for other "small projects" and the staff there has been absolutely wonderful and helpful to us BOTH! In this day and age where rudeness, slothfulness and indifference seem to be the custom and the culture's "new" norm, especially toward those who "look" or "act" different than the rest of us, it's comforting and really nice to know that Lowe's corporation is obviously cognizant of the fact that "ALL" their customer's really do matter! Hello to Duff and Mike over there....see you guys on our next "project" trip to Lowes ! :)

I have used them a couple times, their price and selection is awesome but once I got a bad installation from one of the companies that they contract out to. The installers scraped up our freshly painted walls but when I brought it to Lowe's attention they made the installer come back and touch up the walls. I did use them one time after that and told them to send a different installer and the installation was great.

IT WAS A FAIRLY PAINLESS PROCEDURE. THERE WERE NO HASSLES WHATSOEVER. THEY CAME ON TIME AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY ALSO EXPLAINED, IN DETAIL, HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE DOOR.
