They don’t deserve 1 star! This company is HORRIBLE!!!!!! PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY YOU WILL REGRET COMING HERE. The lady claim all of the bad reviews are fake and that they have 100’s of happy customers. They are friendly in the beginning but once they have your money they are EXTREMELY RUDE. They hang up on you and stop answering the phones when you call back. I got my fence installed June 2020. The technician never went over the wood types or locks with me. Once installed I went back others because I wanted a different lock (the one they installed is cheap and it’s hard to lock & unlock). They never came out to change it. Now it won’t lock at all & not only that my fence is warping & there are nails missing and coming out of the fence. I went into the office today and when I tell you all of the employees are rude, the fat guy that work there called the cops on me lying saying he felt threatened by a 4’11” black woman while starring at me with a smirk on his face. Luckily I recorded the while interaction before I even walked in. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY KEN KIFULL, the owner Kevin, the fat guy & the entire staff are trash

Recently had a fence installed by them. The actual fence itself looks really good - nice job. Unfortunately had a few other issues which lead me to absolutely NOT recommend this company. - they cut the electrical line out to my garage when they installed part of the fence. So couple of things about this. I did not think this would be an issue since there was already a fence there, but they must have made the holes much deeper to cut the line. They were also using electrical in the garage, so they must have known they did it but never told me. Called them when I discovered it, and the woman I talked to immediately - and I mean immediately - went into rudely reminding me that the contract stated that I should have known where all the electrical lines run. No empathy, no attempt to provide customer service at all - just a statement that they're not responsible and that was it. I don't know who told this woman that she suits being in role where she talks to customers, but she's absolutely not fit to be customer facing. Took an unfortunate situation and made it much worse! That was the major issue, but a few other things that annoyed me... - Spilled cement on one of our landscape lights. Didn't bother cleaning it when it happened and I had to replace it. - there's a gate in the fence, and the latch s really wonky. I'll need to fix it. - spilled cement on the lawn. We had to basically pickaxe it out. - the old fence had wire mesh at the bottom that went into the ground. I assumed - as it was part of the old fence - that they would remove this, but no. Patches of it still there sticking up out of the ground that we had to remove. In summary, you're totally left in no doubt that they couldn't care less about the customer once the check is written! You should avoid this company.

We bought railing and stair kits for our new stamped concrete porch. One box was open, and I double checked it contained the caps that the man loading it showed me were correct. It was a few weeks before we could have it installed and when the contractor went to install it, we discovered they had put the wrong size post into the box. When I bought it, I checked to make sure it was the correct color, all the pieces were included, and nothing was damaged. I didn't pull out a tape measure to verify it was the correct length. Since it was more than 7 days since we purchased it I'm out of luck. They've documented it in writing on the receipt that they won't correct their mistakes if you don't find it in the first 7 days. When Menards puts them out of business I'm sure they'll pout about the little guy getting squeezed out. It won't dawn on them that when they want their customers' to pay for their mistakes it's only a matter of time. So congrats, I bought another post. Enjoy the short-term victory. I'll wave next time I drive by heading to a store that cares about its customers.

Hired to install security gates at my rental properties. Quoted my $5k to install 3 custom gates. I am not one to get the cheapest contractor. Hired them and it took forever to get the gates first off. Then they installed the gates and they attached the security gates to wooden posts with horrible closures. They ended up having to new metal posts in and put new closures on that they assured were better... well that was not the case. Ended up hiring Crawford door to fix all of there work and put new closures on. This was a span of 6mths to try and get them to fix there work. Ended up having to show up at the office to finally get an answer and was cussed out and called filthy dirty names from Kevin the owner then he apologized a few minutes later( pretty sure he is bi-polar ). Never got anywhere with them now I am filing a lawsuit against them for everything they put me and my residents through. If I could give them a lower review I would.

Time consuming but worth it. They understood Ann Arbor's local ordinances better than any other bidder, and were the most competitive bidder (if not by much, but they still were the lowest bidder). They made multiple trips to ensure the estimate was accurate and took pains to find a fencing solution that would comply with Ann Arbor's convoluted rules, yet be both functional and aesthetic. Multiple install trips as well, to deal with tree removal issues and weather problems. Final installed fence is beautiful. We likely will follow up because the locks installed on the two gates installed are proving difficult to manage, but I fully expect this issue to be resolved satisfactorily. (We have not yet contacted them about this, so it's not their fault that this issue remains unresolved - it's been a complicated year for us and, having worked with them, we trust in their ability to resolve this concern later. If we are wrong about this, we'll follow up on our review.) We found Upright Fence through Angie's List, and it was a good recommendation. We would do it all again exactly as it happened if given the option. We are so relieved to have the old, collapsing wooden fence removed and a new, vinyl fence - properly installed along the lot boundaries. Our thanks to the Upright team...we can understand why they've been in business so long. Experience does indeed count for something.

NEVER AGAIN will I do business with this company. My entire experience was a disaster, because they don't believe in honoring their own warranty. My gate didn't last one year, and they wanted to charge me more money to fix it. BEWARE...unless you have time and money to waste.

We were extremely pleased with Upright Fence. We walked into the showroom on a cold and bleak fall day--after the season was pretty much over. The sales rep immediately dropped what he was doing, introduced us to a variety of fences and gave us his best guesstimate for pricing. We spent the winter mulling things over. In the spring, when we returned to the subject, we had one other vendor come out to give us a price. He was $2000 more than Upright Fence. Upright's estimator came out; measured the yard; and once again reviewed our fencing options. We talked alot (yet again!) about vinyl vs. wood. He gave us a price on the spot and we sealed the deal. A month later the crew came out to install. They were also great. Warm, friendly, punctual. They seemed to know what they were doing. At least, in the end, we had a nice looking fence that appears to be securely installed. It's straight! (:-) ) they cleaned up after themselves. Our fence is beautiful. We are very, very happy.

I want to first say that the work that was done was good, we got exactly what we needed and feel that the actual quality is there and had a previous job done by the same company with good quality work also. What was upsetting about this experience was that the sales rep, Jim, came out and we talked about what we wanted to do and we wrote it down with the understanding that it was a ROUGH estimate because we were not going on the property line and measured up the center of the back yard and used that to guess about how many feet of fencing would be needed. During a later phone call, I asked directly if we would only be charged for the materials used and was told yes. When the fence was completed our bill was for 1037 feet of fence and we went and measured and got about 780-790 feet. It took a couple days, but someone came out to remeasure and they measured 785 feet! That was 252 feet less which was $3024 less! And, not one person from the company involved in the actual project or management has offered any sort of apology for literally trying to charge us an extra $3000!!!

We were very happy with our installers, Alberto and Victor. They were friendly, professional, and did a good job. They came on a Thursday to put in the posts, and the following Tuesday to finish the job. They went over the details with us before starting, and did exactly what we had agreed on. They cleaned up the area when they were done.

Estimater did not seem happy to be giving me an estimate. Other reviews said he was that way. The installers were great! Did a great job. I thought they were going to pull the old metal poles out but they broke them off. Most were below grade. I asked them to remove and they did remove a few that I thought were close to the surface. Overall a great job and I will use them again for another project over the next 6 months.

After talking with Kevin and waiting for over a week to hear back from him it appears no one from your company is concerned about my grievances or is going to call me.

1.  Upright Fence Company installed a new section of fence and connected it to a ½ inch by 4 inch by 5 ft. wood board provided by Upright Fence Company rather than a post.  The fence is not stable.  Mr. Josefsky said I need a post - $150.00. I was not given an option to have it connected to a board or a proper post.  Is this proper installation?  Is this under your warranty?

2.  On the day of receiving the quotation August 11, 2015, Mr. Josefsky walked the perimeter of both sides of my yard with me and I wiggled the fence panels indicating that they were all loose.  He obviously miscalculated.

3.  Rather than own up to his error, he intimidated me and said my fence was garbage and I would need to pay $150 for another post.  To fix these issues, I am being asked to pay an additional $300.00.

4.  I am having my house inspected by the city of Ann Arbor to get a certificate of occupancy and I don?t think the fence will pass inspection especially the piece connected to the board.

I depended on experts - your company to do the job right ? guess I was wrong.
