John and his staff did excellent work. Extremely pleased with the workmanship, price and the clean up afterwards. I have recommended this company to several friends and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Statewide Insulation did a great job insulating our home. We had them do our outside walls (through brick) and you can't it's impossible to find where they drilled through. They also insulated our attic and our whole house has been much more comfortable ever since. Throughout the whole process John was open, honest, and straightforward. The price was also very fair (we got quotes from two other places). Overall very happy with Statewide. We would definitely hire them again.

I purchased a house whose insulation situation was so terrible that I had mildew and mold growing in the attic. It resulted from moisture caused in part by ice damming the entire length of the house because of a lack of vents/soffits and improperly installed insulation. Both bathroom vents discharged into the attic causing additional moisture. The furnace humidifier was also blowing moist air into the attic. A stack vent was broken and did not exit the roof. This is only a partial description of the insulation nightmare. Had I not called Statewide Insulation, I hazard to think how grave the situation might have become. Owner John Hensley spent two and a half hours analyzing the problems and developing solutions on his first visit. I cannot emphasize enough John's complete knowledge of building, HVAC, plumbing and insulation issues. I believe that no other company could have come close to matching the resolution of my home's complex problems. The work was completed within the estimated time, and his crew did a great job responding to unexpected problems. John has been to the house several times since the job's completion to check on the work. I simply can't say enough about Statewide Insulation.

Can't say enough good things about them. The quote was significantly cheaper than other quotes I got (almost half the price of some) and they spent time explaining the job and what was necessary. They also were willing to install baffles and insulation into tight overhang areas. Other companies wanted to take down the plaster ceiling to insulate these areas. As for the job, they showed up when they said they would, it took the estimates 3 hours, and they left the site clean. The whole attic had the 12" of insulation they said they would install. As a random note, DTE will pay up to $125 rebate if you submit an attic insulation bill to them.

John and his crew drilled small holes through the exterior siding of our home at regular intervals and blew in cellulose insulation. Our home was built in 1885 and was virtually uninsulated. By modern standards our home had no insulation whatsoever. Although our home is old, John was more than up to the challenge and wasn't intimidated by our old property. It may not seem like much, but we have been surprised by how many contractors dismiss us out of hand when we tell them the age of our home. John was the exact opposite and worked hard to make sure that we had the best experience possible.
While working, the team found all sorts of "insulation" items inside our walls including old newspaper fragments, paper bags, and some miscellaneous fluffy stuff. Mostly they found nothing in each hole, but the tangible finds were kind of amusing to us all. They never knew what they would find in the next hole!
The team went around the house inserting a small hose into each hole and firing cellulose fluff in, filling it as much as they could each time. Each hole was then plugged with a small round cedar core that John had picked out to match our cedar clapboard siding. He knew that we were planning on having our home painted and wanted to make sure that all was matched up as closely as possible.
I can't say enough nice things about John. He is a very knowledgable and kind man. He treats his people with respect and it's obvious that they all genuinely enjoy working with and for him. Every one of the guys was kind and patient with my young children and was willing to teach them all about what was going on. It's obvious that John and his team take pride in their work. We'd have him over again any time and have recommended him heartily to friends and relatives. Thank you again, John!

This is my 3rd time using Statewide Insulation. I used them at my previous home for attic insulation. Then had them put in attic insulation in the current home where we live now. I also referred them to my mom who used them for whole house insulation. I decided to call a different company (a company from Southgate) who used a and quot;thermal imagingand quot; camera and a high pressure salesperson to give me a quote before I called Statewide just to see what the price would be. The company from Southgate lied about what is CODE. They looked in my attic (eventhough i had enough insulation) they said we needed more insulation and it wasn't CODE. Their salesman didn't even give me the right R value for the insulation for my walls. They say that no one can repair the mortar joints like them when they insulate the walls from the outside. They even had a LENGTHY contract with ALOT OF WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE!! I looked up the CODE and that company from Southgate was incorrect on CODE.
Since Statewide insulated that attic, I asked them about the CODE and they were 100% right on what is CODE. I contacted the State of Michigan and researched and everything Statewide says is TRUE. I had Statewide give me their price and their price was HALF of that company from Southgate!!!!
Statewide came and insulated my walls. The holes on the outside where they drilled to insulate where the other company said no one can do a better job than them, were barely noticeable after they were done and the mortar hadn't even dried yet. The wall in my daughters room that was cold was a bit warmer. There always felt like cold coming in where I sit in the living room was pretty much gone( our windows are bad so that is part to blame for cold air coming in).
I AM VERY HAPPY WITH STATEWIDE AND I RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!! THEY ARE HALF OF WHAT OTHER COMPANIES CHARGE!!!
PROS: family owned and operated, price is GREAT, HONEST, knows what they are doing, no high pressure salesman and NO lengthy confusing contract
CONS: NONE

We contacted several contractors to add blown in insulation. This was the first time we met John. I've seen his trucks on the road so i figured i would call. He was very knowledgable, fast response and his price was reasonable. They came just before xmas which was nice since i called during the winter and they were busy. he fit me into his schedule.
I was happy with their work i recommended my mother use him and a few weeks later they installed insulation at her home.
I will be using them again anytime we have another house.

Emailed John for a rough price for our home for some attic insulation. John had done insulation at our previous home in 2010 and we didn't call anyone else to give us a price for this house because we knew John did a great job at our other house...
They show up on time, complete the work and show u what they did before they leave... Great experience. Would highly recommend!!!

Great experience. John and his family know what they are doing and are very friendly. The price was less than I expected when I first got the idea to insulate my rental property, although a tad higher than I was expecting based off of other reviews on this site. Although, the rental property is larger (2800 sqft total) and two stories... If you are insulating existing walls in an old home, or any other sort of insulation for that matter, I would highly recommend these guys.

They were not able to work the scheduled day since it was raining and they were working with electrical tools on ladders. On the day they did the work, they first inspected all the potential cavities in the house where the insulation could come through, such as heat ducts. They began in the attic and added insulation. They ran a tube through the window and up the attic steps. They then did the attic of a small addition. Finally they moved to the outer walls. The process took almost the entire day since they had to remove the cedar shakes at small intervals in order to fill the wall cavities. They were careful to check if the insulation was coming into the house through certain cavities. It was a bit messier than I expected since the insulation came into the house in some places, such as behind the bathroom cabinet and the kitchen exhaust fan. I know that some of the outside paint would come off but it it more obvious than I expected since the nails on the cedar shakes are visible. They were not able to do part of the wall with stairs, which the person that did the estimate did not explain to me.

They arrived on time and performed a quick inspection. This was to prevent them from blowing insulation into a cold air return. The attic and first floor walls were completed on day 1. On day 2 we discovered insulation had been blown into two second floor heating ducts. Based on where the vents were, no one expected the ducts to be on the exterior wall. While one team worked on completing the second floor insulation, another team worked on cleaning the filled ducts.

Overall, they did a good job cleaning up. They did leave some residue in the kitchen attic, though. I would've appreciated it if they had asked me if there was anything else they could've done before they left.

They arrived timely and were on-site the entire day. They were professional in their demeanor, and were very friendly. They answered all my questions very patiently, and even revealed that the previous owner's roof vents were never cut through the roof, they were just laid on the roof for show. They cut the holes for me, and blew in the insulation and fitted the vents back in their proper place. They cleaned up the mess that was left and ensured that the insulation had not been blown into the house through small holes and cracks inside. All holes that were drilled through the mortar to blow in the insulation were re-mortared and unnoticeable now. Great job! House is much, much warmer, and I can keep the thermostat down!
