Walter, the manager of the Witbeck Appliance store in West Bloomfield, is the BEST! He went out of his way to take care of an issue that the appliance company refused to cover. He listened, made a couple of phone calls and I received a call back from the appliance company apologizing for incorrect information I was given. He followed through on his word! I bought six appliances from this store and I will continue to do business with them in the future. Anyone call sell an appliance but if there is an issue, who will stand behind it? Walter and Witbeck!

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I have been working with my insurance to settle for the last 16 months, for the damage that they caused, with nothing but stonewalling from Witbeck/Big George’s. I have given them more than enough time to “make things right” to no avail. By make things right I mean HAVE WITBECK FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM AND GO THROUGH SUBROGATION WITH MY INSURANCE. Witbeck/Big George’s has been completely uncooperative and looking to shirk responsibility for the extensive damage they caused to my apartment, and more alarmingly, my neighbor’s apartment. Thousands of dollars worth of water damage was done to my unit and my neighbor’s due to their negligence. My troubles began when I had to uninstall/replace a Sub-Zero fridge, which led me to Witbeck/Big George’s. BIG MISTAKE. After the hard sell and “only one is left” tactics to get me to buy a (quite expensive) Fisher & Paykel replacement, they brought the replacement refrigerator out with damaged doors. Magically, another model appeared within hours, cementing the fact that these people are liars to begin with. They installed the fridge (with a water/ice maker) which means a water line connection was necessary. THEY TURNED ON THE WRONG WATER LINE, and did not turn it off, inexplicably. This water line happened to be to my HVAC unit and was disconnected from a past humidifier. The point is these people cannot even tell what water line goes to the ice vs. somewhere else. Unacceptable. This went on for over 40 minutes, full blast, like a hose. I get a call from my building’s property manager that WATER IS STREAMING DOWN THE WALLS OF MY NEIGHBOR’S UNIT. This knocked out my HVAC unit, my neighbors’ HVAC unit, and my neighbor’s kitchen. Months of repairs and sleeping somewhere else have been the result of this. Do you know what Witbeck/Big George’s biggest concern has been this whole time? Their INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE. What about my deductible? What about my neighbor’s? What about the hardship from this simple act of negligence? They will not take responsibility for my hardship, rest assured they will not take responsibility when something happens to you. I WISH ZERO STARS WERE POSSIBLE ON THIS SITE.

DO NOT HIRE OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS RIP OFF COMPANY !!! I bought a dishwasher with a home warranty 3 years ago and it has broke 3 times. It is a KitchenAid with a 5 year home warranty. It cost 615.00. for the dishwasher. It cost 105 for the Warranty. It was explained by the rip off salesman that if the dishwasher breaks down at any time it would be fixed for free promptly. Three times it has broke down and 3 times I have had to wait minimally 1 week to be serviced and up to a month if the part wasn't on the truck! There are 3 levels you have to go through with this rip off company to get your appliance serviced through the home warranty. First you call the rip off company Witbeck. Witbeck sends you to the warranty company and they give you a service date. Next you call have to call the company that services the dishwasher and they give you another appointment after the first lie on the appointment. So as you can surmise Witbeck Appliance, the rip off company, sells their problems to another company that sets up a fake date to appease the customer, and then they send you to another company that actually does the service and is so busy and full of appointments that you cannot get your appliance repaired for minimally a week to upwards of a month! So do not buy anything from this rip off company. They do not personally stand behind their products and their repair companies they use are inept a devoid of any ability to remedy a problem quickly. Three times broken in three years due to product quality and the inability to talk to any one remotely interested in fixing a problem and making things right is a huge red flag! NEVER,NEVER,NEVER purchase anything from this rip off company Witbeck Appliance. I will spend the rest of my day helping future unfortunate customers by posting on every available social media outlet! Beware!!!

My girl friend and I went into Witbecks to look for replacement appliances for the 4 major appliances in my kitchen:  Range, Microwave, Refrigerator and Dishwasher. The salesman who helped us, Tom Hangsteffer, was very helpful and
patient with all of our questions.  He showed us several options for each appliance and was pretty knowledgeable about
them.  He also provided good discounted pricing when I asked about cost and without quibbling.  We left the store to visit other stores and I called Tom several times with questions. He returned my calls quickly, with good humor and provided good answers
to my questions.  I compared Witbeck's prices with big box stores, online stores and other appliance stores and no one
beat their pricing. 
We went back to the store about a week later and purchased the appliances from Tom.  He was very helpful and I felt very good about the whole transaction.   I avoided dealing with Walter based on earlier reviews, though I learned he is the store manager, which did concern me, since I would probably have to get him involved if there were any problems.  Fortunately there were no
problems.
The delivery was on time and the delivery men were courteous and conscientious.  They took good care of my hardwood floors as they moved in the appliances and where very careful.  The Installer was also very courteous, careful and efficient and did a nice job.
i would recommend Witbeck's and Tom Hangsteffer for anyone looking to purchase appliances.

The have a really good selection of high end appliances on display so you can look at them. I would go back and buy something else from them and I thought they were going to be more expensive than what they charged me which is not bad at all. Their service was good.

I came to Witbeck to support local businesses; have shopped at big box retailers and online for appliances in the past with good success. Witbeck has a nice selection and their sales rep was very helpful in helping me choose the right item.



Item delivery was initially promised shortly after I paid for the order. The promised date came and went with no response from the company, so I called to discover that the item was delayed for another six weeks. It would've been nice to receive a phone call informing me of this. Poor communication from the company continued subsequently; email and phone messages were rarely returned. Once when I asked for a manager I was told there was no one present and somebody would call me back - the callback didn't happen till the next day.



The second promised date was also missed, again with no communication from the company. Witbeck eventually delivered over two months after the initial payment. While the company blamed the delay on the manufacturer, I was able to confirm that other competing stores did have the cooktop in stock for delivery.



Bottom line: my decision to support this local business led to frustration and poor customer service. I was willing to (and did) pay more hoping that the personal service would make up for the difference, sadly I was quite disappointed.

Everything went real smooth and there were no problems. There was somebody there to greet me as soon as I walked in. They have several different brands of appliances.
