Holes were left in the bath room walls and trim was not installed. We had to pressure Baratz into finishing the project he agreed to do in the first place, but even then it was done sloppy and without care. The shower curtain rod we requested was never purchased or installed.
The painters that power washed the exterior paint off my home never put down tarps, nor did that clean up all the lead based paint flecks and chips surrounding my home when they were done cleaning the walls. Baratz building even refused to pick up the chips of paint after only a few hours of trying. (I spent several days of my own time, raking and picking up paint chips). The paint job it self was messy and I now have white paint splatter on my red brick.
Originally Baratz building agreed (verbally and on paper) to move and cap the old washer and dryer hook-ups, then several weeks later, when it came time to do the work, they only added the new lines and left the old lines in place. (Again, something I had to go back and remove myself at a later date).
When dealing with Roni Baratz over the phone was a painful experience, he always seemed pushy and tried to talk over me like I didn't know what I was talking about (I'm a guy), and he was downright rude to my wife; practically ignoring her and treating her like an object and not the person who is paying his salary! In person he seemed to turn a complete 180, and seemed attentive and caring to my concerns about my home renovations (like patching the holes in my bathroom and repainting). The execution of the repair left much to be desired, and then he would act indignant that I wasn't in love with his shoddy work.
After going back to review the original contract, the work to be performed is extremely vague, only mentioning what items are being replaced, added, or removed. I can only guess that Baratz Building keeps their contracts vague so they can fudge the actual work they do. On several occasions he even threatened to walk off the job (something I now wish he did), because I demanded a quality product.
My wife and I had to fire him and get a new contractor to finish the work we could no longer trust him to complete. I would not use Baratz building again, even if they were the last contractors on this planet.
