I was having my roof replaced and the only thing that showed up as scheduled was the dumpster. I had workers show up at 3:30pm and the sun was setting around 5:00pm. The workers requested to come on a Sunday because the project was behind schedule, but no one showed up on Sunday. I came home from work another day after it was already dark and discovered there were men on my roof completing the job in the dark. There were no tarps on my roof when it rained and then the following day they completed the roof. I have serious concerns about future issues with moisture being trapped in my roof and when I asked about it I was reminded of the 2 year warranty on the work. I had to ask them to return to fix the fascia and soffit and honestly, it still looks horrible. There were nails and scraps left around my property and a large divot in my front yard from truck tires. The only comment on that was that it was probably from the truck, but nothing regarding restoring my lawn. This company was also responsible for managing the lead paint in my house. After waiting several months, I received a text one morning that they would be coming in and I would need to be out (and all of my belongings packed and moved to one area of my house). I was given a one week notice. I did what I could to comply, but couldn't get all of my furniture out of upstairs rooms. I was told not to worry about it. I returned after 5 days and was horrified by the amount of work that it would take to restore my home. Nothing was covered during this process. Nothing was prepped, no nail holes filled, no cracks caulked. Out of 20+ walls that were painted and 7 ceilings, not one of them was painted to full coverage. One has a 2 sq ft area that wasn't painted at all. Another was only painted halfway down and another only had a couple brush marks on it meaning it wasn't painted at all. The one ceiling that was not supposed to be painted has 2-3 inches of glossy primer around the edges because nothing was cut in. There are drips and sags in every room that will need to be sanded down so it can be repainted. None of the trim was to be painted, yet all of the trim has been painted on (not splatters, brush marks). My wood floors, laminate floor, linoleum and carpet all have paint on them, including footprints in paint across wood floor. An upholstered chair that was like new now has a big splotch of paint in the center of it along with splatters. There are large globs of paint on my bathroom sink, tile countertop and in the grout. There is paint on my file cabinet, cupboards, kitchen counters, stove, microwave, windows, mirrors, light fixtures, banister, windowsills, toilet and bed. I have no idea why, but the metal fascia around my front door has been painted on 2 of 3 sides. It is a mess, a big mess. There is also a layer of mop and glo (I confirmed this is the product used) around the edges of my wood and laminate floors. There is none in the center of the rooms. This is very noticeable. I asked Craig if he saw my house when the work was done. His response, "nope". I asked who did the painting, "my lead guys, does it need a second coat?". In addition to the mess, my deep freezer was unplugged when I came home and the gate that keeps my dogs in the yard was unlatched. Siding my garage was a piece of this overall project/lead containment. I was supposed to pick the color and the project wasn't supposed to start until spring. I came home from work and the siding had begun. The siders covered a window that wasn't supposed to be covered and although the law is very clear on cleaning up any lead dust or debris, all the plastic sheeting filled with contaminants has been in my garden for nearly a week. I am more educated on lead laws, the EPA and HUD Lead Guidelines than I ever thought I could be and the violations that have taken place on my property are offensive. My kitchen counters were not covered or cleaned and that's where I prep my food. My bed was not covered or cleaned and that's where I sleep. The debris left in my garden for days is likely tainting the soil where I grow my food. The amount of disregard and disrespect for me, my pets and my property is equally offensive.

When they did the roofing I had water damage from the winter time and it leaked in the kitchen. I didn't get to see what the roof looked like because they put the roofing over it. They roofed over old shingles on bay window but had them come back and take old shingles off and do it right but now they put different color shingles on still not right. They did not pick up nails and I picked up 50-60 nails because they don't have one of those magnet picker uppers. They show up at noon and one time they left at 2:30pm. You never know when they are going to show up. The window guys were pretty good, but the guy that did the bay window I had water damage when he pulled out the old ones. He told me that it was fine. I told him that that can't be true and he beat on it and said that was good enough. The city inspector said I should've called him to have it done right. When he put the bay windows in they were crooked and he told me that's how they were supposed to be. The molding on one side looks nice and the other side is skewed. When they did calving I had termites on the one window and the wood came out. He was actually going to put the calving over the missing wood and I caught him. I complained to the city inspector and he called Able construction so they redid that. When they calked the windows, they just kind of squirted it real fat-like and it looks disgusting. Most professionals smooth it with their fingers. I complained and he came back and told me that that's how it's supposed to be. I'm looking at the calking on the other side of the house and the calving was a quarter of an inch away from the wood on the frame of the house. They just calk it and filled that space with calk. After that dries in a year or two, you know it's going to leak. He came back out and calked it like he doesn't care. The vinyl guys don't know how to pick up nails either. There are a lot of unprofessional people working here. Usually they want to show you the work when the work is done, but these guys just get in their truck and leave. They came out to "fix" some stuff and then took off in their truck. All around a bad and unprofessional company. From the street the house looks good, but there a lot of little things. The city inspector was surprised by a lot of things they did. Now I notice two days ago that they are doing windows next door and I noticed the same guys. Able Constuction in business since 2010, I could have gotten a different construction Co. That had 35 years experience, but the bid was $100.00 to $200.00 higher.

The entire process with this contractor was so exhausting. It just seemed like a redo, after redo, after redo. I don't make excuses I just think the job should be completed as described. I feel the job was handled unprofessionally. After doing a walkthrough of how I wanted things packed, he made me aware that the job would not take a week as originally discussed. It actually took a month. I believe he was making the city think it was my fault the job was taking so long. I feel that he is the professional and that's why I hired him. If I didn't care about how the job was done I would have done it myself. Sloppy paint jobs, scratches on walls. Even today two years later I still find myself cleaning over scratches. I just find it unacceptable.
