Warning! On 07/19/2016 Joseph Dixon doing business as J & J Services 1047 Lasalle st. Waterford, MI contracted with a senior home owner in Livonia MI, to do landscaping with a start date of 07/21/2016 and completion of 07/25/16 for $1,320.00. J & J services was performing mulch services my next door neighbor who found him on thumbtack. When I pulled up to my home Joseph asked if I needed any work done. I subsequently entered into a written contract for landscaping for $1320.00 for which he requested a $400.00 deposit upfront. I wrote him check which he chased immediately. Thumbtack has removed him from their site for fraudulent business/ con artist, who absconded with homeowners upfront $400.00 deposit and who never returned to do the work. He uses the excuse to pray on your sympathy by saying his father had a heart attack and he can't come. Then he says he will come and never shows up. He offered to return my $400 deposit. and never did. He alleges he mailed me a $400.00 money order which I never received. He kept promising over and over that he will come but never shows up. He makes many excuses for why he cannot come and made promises of returning the money but doesn't. All of this has been documented by text messages between Joseph Dixon and myself. Then I sent a text to him to inform him that unless I received the money by noon 07/29/16 I will file fraud charges with the Livonia Michigan Police Department. I have since filed the report with the police who opened a case. Detective Tar presented seven photos of different men from which I identified contractor Joseph Dixon. Detective Tar called Joseph Dixon. Joseph Dixon promised to have the $400 cash at the police station on Friday 08/12/16 before noon because the detective was holding off filing a warrant for his arrest with the prosecutor if he brought the money. I called detective Tar today 08/16/16 to see if Mr. Dixon had indeed brought the money as promised. Detective Tar informed me that he did not, nor did he call so a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Mr. Dixon threatening last text to me stated " Leave me alone, lose my number, or I'll get you for harassment." Beware, I am taking the time to do this to possibly save others from potentially becoming a victim of Mr. Joseph Dixon's con artistry.
