We have been homeowners for over 28 years and have never been treated this way by any company. We were told that we would be scheduled for service as soon as we mailed our check and contract. We have been put off numerous times. Lots of empty promises. HD Sealcoating finally showed up after numerous failed dates to tear out our driveway and they insisted that we needed to pay an additional 9 to 10,000 dollars above our original quote. They claim that our driveway was a foot thick. It is a standard residential drive and we have sent pictures showing the average 2-4 inches thick with a tape measure. Our driveway is halfway demolished with major safety issues, screws sticking out all over and our neighbors yard was also damaged during the process. They have left our property a mess!

"We have been in the construction industry for 30 years, and this is the first time that we have ever had a customer that has so clearly disregarded the contract that was signed and stated so many incorrect facts. To address your incorrect facts one at a time. We have communicated with you every step of the way, and despite your negative and blatant lie of a review, we still refunded your deposit check even after we started work at your property and that the contract states a deposit is non-refundable. Timing- We stated, as we do with all our potential paving customers, that once the signed contract and deposit check is received, we would put you in the queue to be scheduled and that our leadtime is 6-10 weeks and that the deposit check would not be cashed until a date was given. We schedule our paving jobs in the order in which they are received. As originally informed, your job was scheduled within the 6-10 week lead time. Yes, due to weather, your job had to be rescheduled. However, it was rescheduled within that very same week. Asphalt Depth - Our contract clearly states that we assume that we are removing up to 4 inches of asphalt on a residential driveway. Our contract clearly states that if required, additional stone is chaged at $65 per ton. We do not have x-ray vision and therefore can not determine the actual depth of a driveway until it is started to be removed. When we started to remove your driveway, it was found, and we have plenty of pictures, that we also showed you, that your driveway was up to 12 inches in some areas. Yes, at the edges where it is tapered to meet your grass, it was within the limits. We approached you with a change order that stated additional charges would be required and that we would only bill you for what was actually used. You gave us a written request to stop work after a portion was already removed and indicated you no longer wanted to proceed with our company. It seems we have been nothing but fair with you, and would appreciate your removal of this review."

We are a small church that had HD Sealcoating perform crack filling. After they were initially done last year (August), the parking lot looked great. However, by June of this year, nearly all of the weeds were growing back through the repairs they had performed. Their flyers say "All work is guaranteed." When I called them to complain, they came out and reviewed the situation. They then told me that they "couldn't control the vegetation.". The parking lot looks no better now than it did a year ago, and we have $5,600 less funds with which to do our other work. Sad! My advice is to seek elsewhere.

One year later, you contacted us stating that weeds had grown back through the cracks. The rubber is a seasonal warranty due to shifts in the pavement due to heaving and contracting from the winter. This is an industry standard. HD was hired to fill the cracks with hot rubber in your parking lot. At that time we cleaned the cracks with weedwhips and torches to eliminate the grass and weeds. And as you said, it looked great. However, as anyone who has ever had a garden knows, weeds and grass grow back regardless of how much weed killer you may put on them. HD made no warranty that your weeds would not grow back. For future reference, weed spray should be used as soon as you notice them coming up, if you wait to long this could do even more damage to the rubber."

Wow! Truly. From estimate with Billy to questions with Brenda at the office and delivery with Mason and his crew, fabulous. Extremely reasonable pricing and most importantly, they did what they said they were going to do, when they said they would do it - invaluable these days. Service was efficient and final product, beautiful - our driveway was a mess. Mason achieved the perfect angle, and we no longer have sitting water/flooding at the base of our drive. Everything is sealed and looks brand new. I also noticed the owner (presumably) came to check out the work which I appreciate. Overall, an extremely knowledgeable, friendly crew that I would recommend without hesitation.

We have always used HD sealcoating to resurface and seal our driveway with great results. This last time we had it done in August, 2018, but felt a couple of spots could be improved. Some of the patching on larger cracks had sunk after the crew had left, due to the hot weather and not because of their work. When I called to report my concern, the office person was friendly, responsive and immediately scheduled a follow-up appointment to touch up the areas of concern. They showed up on time; the lead worker was friendly, courteous and helpful; and they did even more than I expected, repatching all of the cracks, not just the ones I was concerned about. We are very pleased with the results, and give this company high marks for their courteous and helpful response.

I contracted with Dave Retsel at HD Sealcoating to replace my asphalt driveway. My drive way is approximately 22’ x 45’ and the contract was for $3,500 plus $35 per ton of extra gravel. The final cost was $3,900. Dave Retsel subcontracted the work to Patrick Ponto & Joseph Abraham at Guardian Sealcoat & Paving. A few weeks after installation there was a problem. Numerous deep tire marks began to occur. Neither Dave nor Joseph would return my calls or e mails. I hired an attorney and began legal action. They then made some repairs. My driveway looks bad.

We feel that the quality of your R&R install of a new driveway was excellent quality (A+ Rating) Our contractor Pat from Guardian has been an owner operator who has been in operation for 30 years. He is the preferred contractor for several high quality sealcoat companies in the area. When we paved your driveway 2 years ago, it was about 90 degrees. If I recall correctly you stated that there were settling marks in your driveway, due to you parking your camper in that space within one week of paving, while it was still very hot outside. In order to have your complete satisfaction we came back out the following year to make sure that nothing else had settled and Pat from Guardian touched up the settled areas. I visited your property last week and looked at your driveway. Per my review the driveway looks great, and still meets industry standards. I would recommend that your driveway is sealcoated, which is also industry standard practice after one year for new installation. The sealcoating will give it the finished look. We feel that your rating is unreasonable based on the quality of the job that you received. If you can provide sworn statements from three other reputable paving contractors that your driveway is a "failed driveway" and not to industry standards, we are willing to refund the full cost of your driveway. It went great very professional company. From the first call into the office to talk to the staff. The owner came out and met with me we walked the driveway. I was scheduled with in a week for the repair and then the following week for the sealcoating. I am very happy with the out come and i will be a returning customer. I will also tell all my co workers, family and friends to call for an estimate!

Excellent ! Initially I was apprehensive since their quote was lower than others but since I had received the identical in previous years I decided to give them a try. It is easy to look good when everything goes perfect but the true measure of performance is when a "glitch" occures. Rick rang the door bell introduced himself and started the work. Then the "glitch" occurred when the handle broke on the tar drum heater. Rick again rang the door bell and informed us of what had happened and he would leave for short time to affix a new handle. He returned in 1/2 hour and finished the job to perfection and handled the "malfunction " in a very professional manner. I will most certainly use them again and recommend them . Because of Angie we can now keep track of the good guys.

HD is a great company i called for a estimate and talked to their very friendly staff was great to help me and explain all my questions. The owner came out and met with me and walked with me so i could show him the areas i thought needed repair. With in a few days i got my estimate which is much faster then most companies and i was happy with the price. Called and got scheduled for the repair work right away and seal coating within a week after that. Very Very stratified and will recommended this company to all my neighbors family and friends! They got a return customer for sure!

The entire process wasn't explained too thoroughly. We didn't understand that it would be staged in two parts so better communication would be appreciated. Very pleased with quality of work.

Requested a quote for seal coating our driveway and the quote was issued in a prompt manner. I called HD Seal Coating to schedule an appointment and a date was scheduled. On the day of the appointment, I was contacted by the company and asked if I had reviewed the quote and if I would like to schedule a work date. Confused by the call, I informed them that I had already accepted the quote and was expecting a crew to work on the driveway that same day. The representative appeared to be disorganized and began laughing. She then joked at how she mixed up two customers documents and contact information. We ended the call confirming that a crew was indeed scheduled to visit my home that afternoon to seal coat the driveway. About an hour later, I received a phone call from a neighbor asking if I was getting my driveway coated by HD. I replied "yes". He then proceeded to ask me why I gave them their private unlisted phone number. I was dumbfounded as I don't even know my neighbors home number. My neighbor, very upset with HD for contacting him on a private line, asked the rep. where she got his number. Brenda or Rebecca claimed that I had not only given my neighbors private number to them, I also recommended HD to my neighbor. Funny, I never used HD in the past, didn't have my neighbors number nor did I endorse HD in any way, shape of form. After ending the call with my neighbor, I proceeded to contact HD once again to inquire as to why in the world they would tell my neighbor that I gave out his phone number or that I issued a recommendation. Ahhh, the nervous laughter returned with no immediate explanation other than one of the reps was new. What? Then the rep. attempts to claim that there was a contact list purchased from another business and that is where all the unlisted phone numbers were acquired. OK, so why in the world would you lie to my neighbor and tell him I gave out the phone number??? Nothing like drumming up drama between neighbors. The crew arrived and completed the job. Less than two hours later, we had what appeared to be a monsoon. Parts of the driveway had not cured properly and washed away while other areas cracked. I contacted HD about the issue and they claimed their work was guaranteed. They would return out to my home on the 19th of July to repair the areas requested. Well, today is the 19th. My neighbors driveway was fixed and ours was ignored. When I contacted HD to inquire about the status of our driveway repairs, I was hung up on. Not once, not twice, but three times. Whoever was at the office realized that I was going to continue to call until I received an answer or answering machine. Funny thing, by the fourth try, I received an answering machine. It's not the quality of the work or the crew that seal coated my driveway that compelled me to write this review...it was the poor customer service, untruthful practices and total lack of professionalism from the women manage the office.

They did a great job sealcoating my drive. Along with a thick coat of sealcoating, they fill all the cracks with a rubberized solution that expands and contracts with the cracks. It keeps the cracking to a minimum. They arrived on schedule, did great work, and the price was very competitive.

It was simple! The only thing that made it difficult was the weather! they show up approach me, tell me about when I can let dogs out and then when I can drive on it! 2 1/2 hours latter they left, 6 hrs later dog were on it (dry to touch) 30 hours later we were parking back on it!

HD did a fine job. Gave quotes to not only me but my 3 neighbors. All of us agreed the price was reasonable and David was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately an unexpected rain shower popped up as they were finishing the last driveway and a lot of the sealer washed away. No problem having the driveways redone. As a matter a fact without even inspecting the drives, Dave said he just redo them all as he wanted to make sure they were done correctly. High recommend.
