What a shady company. Apparently, they are based in Michigan and have vendors in different states. I called Angie's List first, but this company wasn't listed yet, at least not in Washington State. The technician showed up in an unmarked vehicle, but he did have lot of tools and invoices with him. He took my front door lock apart and showed me where it was broken. He told me it needed to be replaced and he had some available at his office. I needed to be able to lock my door, so I told him to install a new one. He did put on a new lockset, and when I got the invoice I saw I had been charged $450.00 just for the hardware. The lockset was made by Schlage. I called them and they told me that if I had the time, I could have got the same thing over the internet for about $125.00. I understand the need to make a profit, but this is rip-off pricing. I called the company's 800 number to work out a lesser price, and the lady I spoke to told me that I needed to call the complaint department but that they were already gone for the day. I asked where she and the complaint department were located, and she said "in a building". I got the hint, I don't think they are trustworthy. I finally got out of the employee that they were in Michigan. I asked when I should call to be able to reach the complaint department, and she said anytime tomorrow. Turns out, they were closed then too! Don't use this company. The technician left sawdust all over my floor, and didn't offer to touch up the paint on my door. Shame on me for not asking them to leave when I saw the unmarked vehicle.

I locked myself out of my place and needed an emergency locksmith to come let me in. I knew this was going to cost me a bit of money for the convenience but this was ridiculous. I called the call center and a locksmith came out promptly. My door is rather old and wouldn't be that hard to probably use a credit card to get in. However, this locksmith took out all of his tools and gadgets and attempted to open the door. He used one of the tools that balloons up to create space between the door and the door frame....similar to a car locksmith. He worked on the door for 5 minutes and tells me he can't get in and he'll need to damage my lock to get in and I'll have to get a new lock for my door, keys, etc if he proceeded. Not only would he destroy my lock, it would cost me an additional $50+ to do it. I wasn't in that big of a rush to get my door open, I could wait until the next day to get a spare key, so I told him I would pass on his suggestion to destroy the lock. At that point he looked annoyed that I didn't get a new lock and used the balloon tool again..... viola, the door opened. From that point on I knew I was dealing with a shaddy locksmith. He was just trying to see if I would bite at spending more money to get an entire new lock for my door. I didn't bite so he miraculously was able to open the door so he could make some money on this service trip. Once unlocked I asked how much I owed him and he told me $95 ($15 service fee and $70 to open the door). I asked him if there was any sort of discount or a cheaper price seeing as how it was a very simple procedure to open the door. He told me that if I paid cash he would drop the price to $70. I didn't have that much cash with me so he held my drivers license and followed me to the bank where I was able to take out the cash. Overall, I was happy to get in but be careful of tricky scams they pull.

After first contacting another locksmith (See my other locksmith review), I had to contact Run Local Locksmith (RLL).
They gave me an appointment date and time. 45 min before the schedule time the tech called with an ETA (He was a little late, but he did show. Unlike the other locksmith - see previous review)
He got right to work and was done within 30 minutes, start to finish. The price seems a little high, but when you have a car in front of the house that you can't move, you do what you have to.
This is a top notch organization run by professionals.

Found them in the yellow pages. was told it would be 15.00 plus 35.00 base price to open my car. After it was opened the price was 120.00. I was not told the price until afterwards. I paid the price, but called their complaint dept. for a month to speak with someone. When I finally did I was told that it had been a month and there was nothing they could do. One of our local TV news stations had done two stories on this company in the last month about the same problem of a different price when the job was finished

They were great. They are not like other locksmiths that quote a higher price once they got there, they kept to their word. The technician was very personable and courteous.

My son locked his keys in his car in Chesterfield MO when he was out of town for a job interview. This was about 11am on a Monday, not an after hours call. We called Run-Local-Locksmith at 888-686-3088 based on their web price which was $15 service charge and a minimum of $35 for the unlock service. He was not given an estimate ahead of the service, but was given a bill for $185, yes $185. Given his age and experience, he paid it (the driver told him "don't worry, insurance will cover it"). Yes, they opened his door, but I feel they took advantage of a young person and over-charged him greatly. Watch out for this company! And, by the way, it took the locksmith about 10 minutes to open the door.

Neighbor's house-sitter got locked out of the house. I called this locksmith for her and confirmed pricing over the phone. They confirmed a $15 charge to come out and a minimum of $35 to get into the house, depending on the number of locks/type they needed to bypass.
The technician came out about 30 minutes after the call. He thought he'd have the best chance of getting into the house via the garage door because there was an electric opener on it. He had to borrow my ladder but bypassed the lock in less than 5 minutes. While he wrote up the bill and charged the house-sitter, I put the ladder away.
When I came back, the house-sitter was near-to-tears and calling her mother because she only had $35 in her pre-paid debit card and he was billing her $160 for the call including $25 just to come out.
I called the 888 number back and was given lip by the operator who told me they NEVER give quotes over the phone. The operator also confirmed, however, that the charge to come out was only $15, and then continued to argue with me, telling me they record all calls. I asked him to replay my call and he refused. So, we ended up having to give them some of their medicine. Basically the house-sitter and I just waited there while I explained that it would have been cheaper for me to break the door lock myself and replace it ($30 max for the lock and my labor) or to just break a window. We waited him out because he had another call to go to and we were waiting for her mother to come with the extra cash. He finally relented and only charged $30. If it wasn't for the technician having a sense of decency and urgency, I'm not sure what would have happened next, as the mother wasn't willing to pay either.
