Door Service, Window Service
I called about availability of a used steel door. She said she would call me back but didn't. I called back a week later and she said my door would be installed the next day. I HADN'T ordered one. She even picked the design FOR me. I went ahead and told her what ornaments to put on it.
They installed it the next day. There were paint drips and chips on the door. The ornaments were not fully painted. I found out they don't prime or bake on the paint. They had used plain old spray paint. The door did not fit in the door frame properly. There was a big gap at the top right corner. I called the owner and he said I had to deal with the saleswoman, that he told her not to sell used white doors and SHE has to deal with me. She would not return my calls. They also did not give me the two screens. One came with the door and one I paid extra for.
I called every few days. I felt sorry for the receptionist who kept answering my calls. Finally the receptionist said the new door would be delivered and installed. I found out that she paid for the door herself just to get me to stop calling.
They took off the old door and brought the "new" used door the next day. It could have been the same door. This time they installed it properly. I hovered over them and made them do it right. I made them caulk the gap in the wood. They made it sound like they would put in a finished door and frame that covered or replaced the old one, and they didn't.
They did not bring my screens. I called and called and called. I reached him by cell and he said he was at the screen place and he would order them right then. I still did not receive them. The receptionist said he told her he had to come out and measure. Still he didn't by then it had been 2 months. At the same time, I was getting my window panes replaced at another business. They told me they were his screen supplier but he had stopped ordering from them because he decided it was cheaper to make them himself.
Finally I went to the store with the measurements for my screens. He was there. He brought two screens out of the back and gave them to me. I measured them and said they were too small. He kept saying they were fine. He said to bring them back the next day if they didn't fit. I took them home and they didn't fit. I went back the next day.
He said he didn't have them. He talked around and around me. Finally he said, "well, I'm not coming down there to measure!" When he realized I was not going to get upset and I was not going to leave he went into the back and cut down two screens he already had. It took 20 minutes.
All in all, it took 72 days and 20 minutes.
