ELLIS BOYCE HARDWOOD FLOORS

We would not recommend Ellis Boyce. He did not sand and properly prep our hardwood floors, so the poly is not adhering to the floor. Just a month afterwards and the poly is coming up at all the seams between the wood. Without proper floor prep the poly will not adhere. We have refinished more than 10 properties in four states and this is the worst refinish job we've ever seen.  Ellis did agree to come back and repair some sections where simple blue painters tape pulled up the poly, but his repair looks worse with patches of unblended poly.  The entire floor looks worse than before he began now that between every board and seam it's beginning to "peel" off along the edges of each floorboard.  We will have to pay someone else to come and sand up all of this disastrous work and redo.  His lower cost is not worth the poorer quality, especially when it only means having to pay twice and listen to his excuses.  The floors are only a month and a half (and it's peeling everywhere there is a seam, tape or not, cleaner ever used on it or not, all the classic excuses)  all of his excuses are just that - he didn't sand, he didn't prep nearly well enough and now the poly doesn't stick.
