Original quote was for 4 piers. Once the job was started they found we really needed 7 (75% more!)?NO mention of what the increased cost would be was ever told to us verbally, nor was it put in writing, as their contract stipulated it should be. The owner disputes this fact, even going so far as to say, "Ask my guys. They heard me say it."?Of course they'd agree with him, he's the owner!?They also discovered, when excavating, that there had been a previous attempt of concrete underpinning under one corner of the foundation. They charged another large amount?for this - again not ever revealing this cost to us. When it came time to pay we argued that the amount they were "asking" was never in writing. In?fact, the salesman who wrote the contract had put a zero with a line through it in the area where it said that any additional work to be done regarding previous concrete underpinnings would?cost "a charge of $_______/day". The owner of the company came to collect the final payment and offered us a "discount" if we paid him with two separate checks - one made out directly to him for the extra concrete underpinning work that was done and the other to the company. When I cried "foul" to this he then gave us an additional amount off and only one check was written to Calculus. Almost a month later we are still waiting for a copy of the city inspection and?for some of the job paperwork showing the drawings and depths of each pier that he promised would be sent to us. I don't doubt that the job was done properly but the way this company conducted business would not make me want to recommend them to anyone. We also don't think that we SHOULDN'T?have had to pay extra for the extra work that was done but the way it all occurred made us think that it was almost a "bait and switch" tactic. Your yard is now in a shambles because of all the digging and what are you supposed to do, just say, "Oh forget it"? If?you should go with them it would behoove you to get everything in writing every step of the way and make sure you understand EVERYTHING on the contract.? On the plus side, their workers were courteous, prompt, professional and each day they cleaned up the work site to make it safe for us by covering the excavation sites with large pieces of plywood. Also, a portion of chain link fencing had to be removed to allow them access and this was returned to its original position at job's end. The job took 5 days with final cleanup on a Saturday.

I experienced a crack in my footing of my home and required helical piers to raise and stabilize the failed footing. They failed footings caused my garage and the second floor of my home to settle and continued to worsen each and every year.. Repair of the footing was no longer an option but a necessity. Calculus Foundation was one of several companies who provided a estimate to complete our job per mechanical drawings. After meeting with Mr. Kaatz of Calculus foundation it was crystal clear he was the most knowledgeable and informed of the numerous companies interviewed. His estimate was very competitive when compared to other quotes. Upon signing our contract Mr. Kaatz did everything required per the mechanical drawings. No up charges or change in pricing.. The work crew was prompt, courteous and quite professional. Clearly they knew their jobs and each of the technicians worked quite well together.. Each night they cleaned up the work site. Upon completion of the job it was as though no one had ever entered our property. Our foundation repair came with a 25 year warranty. A very comforting feature.

Workers were prompt and courteous. They left the job site clean and safe at the end of each day. They communicated with us during the job regarding the status of the work being done and any changes that were necessary.

Came out and put piers under house and repaired cracks in basement walls. Crew was very professional and courteous and always on time. House and yard were left exactly the way promised like they were never there. Would defiantly recommend

My basement has been leaking for years and my basement wall was even starting to fall in. Calculus was one of a few companies that i had come out to give me an estimate. They were a lot cheaper than the rest so I hired them to do the work. It took them two days to complete the job. Im not quite sure everything they did, but they epoxied all of the cracks in my basement and put up boards to hold up the foundation in my basement from caving in any further. So far everything is great expect for one little leak I still have. I called Dave (since everything is under warranty) and he said he will take care of it. Just waiting to hear back from him. I would definitely recommend this company

Dave and Cindy were incredibly responsive and inclusive, particularly considering that we are in the process of buying the home and not actually paying for the work ourselves. They were professional throughout the entire process from getting a quote to completing the work. They fully complied with a structural engineering plan we provided and with city regulations. The work itself was done very well and and took only 3 days, exactly as long as they had estimated. Their prices are also very fair compared to other companies we got quotes from.

They did a good job. I was observing them through the job. I was quite satisfied with the end result. If you walked down in the basement now, you wouldn't get the idea that it had been repaired. It looks original.
