Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
This has to be the smoothest renovation ever for me. I've done two others in my lifetime. I needed an updated kitchen but could not afford all the new amenities, such as stainless steel appliances, cabinets with rotating shelves, wire baskets etc. We decided the least expensive way to go was to NOT change the layout of the kitchen. It was great as it was. Changing things costs more money. A kitchen representative came and measured my kitchen. George took me personally to the store to choose the cabinets. I started right off asking to see the least expensive ones. I was up front from the beginning about what i could afford and if George could provide it. I didn't want any misunderstandings. After all, he has to make a living. I was told the cabinets would be arriving in one month. They did! George said he would be here at 9am that day to meet the delivery men and begin the job. The first day the entire kitchen was torn out and hauled away. They cleaned up afterward and left no debris. Day two, new upper cabinets were installed. George had set an appointment for the counter top company to make their measurement once the lower cabinets were installed on day 2 and 3. Counter top company said it would take 2 weeks, which it did. Exactly 14 days later the counter was installed. I wanted to see the counter top with the cabinets before i chose my backsplash. Originally i had planned to have a glass backsplash but changed my mind after seeing the cabinets and counter top together. By the way, i had a laminate counter with a granite look. I asked George to give me a few days to decide the backsplash. He suggested i go to The Tile Shop. It happened to be Labor Day Weekend and they were having a great sale and i saved $300 on my total bill. I knew George was on another job when i called to say i had purchased the backsplash, which turned out to be travertine tile. He said he would be here at 8am at the beginning of the following week. He was here! He finished the travertine day one and grouted day two. I couldn't thank George enough for the great job he did, for being a man of his word and being here when he said he would. And, for not price gouging me beyond the ability to have my new kitchen. All that is left to do is flooring. I had already asked a friend to do my flooring in advance. Since im a senior and have some medical issues i had mentioned to George that i would have a problem lifting stacks of heavy dishes etc from the cabinets or bending over. He said he and his worker would do it. Not to worry about it. The upper cabinets were installed first and he suggested i might want to begin returning items to the new cabinets, which worked very nice. I could slowly begin dusting, polishing and sorting. I can't say enough good things about my expectations and the work i received. I would hire George again in a minute.
