We were awarded an insurance claim for hail damage from the April hail storm in Lake Orion. It took me a full month to research all the roofing contractors here on Angie's List, as well learn as much as I could about Owens Corning, GAF and Certainteed. I had multiple contractors come to my house to review what they offered. Every single contractor offered similar quality shingles and comparable manufacturer's warranties. However, Roof-Rite rose to the top for many reasons: 1) They offered slightly higher-end shingles right from the start without additional cost. All other contractors offered budget-level architectural shingles (which are still decent). This was easy to determine simply by visiting the Wimsatt site. Shingles were categorized from best to worst as either Premium, Designer or Budget. 2) They employed local roofers that have worked with the company for many years. Their roofers were not seasonal workers nor were they storm-chasers. All their license plates were from Michigan and they all spoke English. 3) There was no hard sell at the initial meeting asking for signature to kick off the process. At least two other contractors pushed a signature to kick things off. Chet Simpson did not. He was extremely patient with me for over a month. 4) Chet Simpson was available 100% of the time and answered all my calls and texts without delay. I really felt like I was his only customer. He was very accommodating and answered every question I had about shingles and specifics about the job. He went above and beyond. Overall, it was delightful working with Chet Simpson and Roof-Rite. I would highly recommend Roof-Rite to anybody looking for roof and gutters.

They get it all done in one day. It all looked good. They had a better price and I don't know the rest of it because that was a year ago. I would use them again in the future.

Maybe five or six people came to do the work and gave me new gutters. It took two days at the most with a decent sized crew. Prices were Reasonable, on time, stood behind their work.

Extermely professional in all aspects of the job. Quoted me within 24 hours. Timely and professional with all communication. Roof and gutters look fantastic. Wonderful clean up job. Will be recommending to friends and family.

Everything went fine (although they discovered an extra $2,000 cost the day they got started and I really had no way of knowing whether I needed the additional work done), and I am generally happy with my roof but over the course of the last year I have found approximately 40 nails in my yard/gutters/driveway. This is scary each time it happens because I have a dog. Otherwise, I would recommend Chet who was extremely responsive throughout the process.

My contact with Roof-Rite was Chet Simpson. I explained to him that I was getting 3 bids to reroof my daughters home, including the new addition I was constructing. His bid was in the middle of the three I received, and we worked together to finalize a price we could both live with. We set a preliminary date for install and as soon as I had constructed the addition I called to finalize the dates. Weather was a problem as rain was expected almost daily, which caused slight delays in starting my job because there were others booked prior to me, but we finally had some clear weather and the job was started only 3 days after our preliminary date. The crew that performed the work were very professional in their work methods. They worked the first day until it was almost dark. They returned the next morning and completed the job. The crew foreman, Paul, was very friendly and attentive to my questions. His crew was also very friendly and worked every minute they were on the job. The new roof looks beautiful. Overall I am very pleased with the work Roof-Rite completed, and would be glad to recommend or contract with them again in the future. Chet Simpson was a pleasure to work with and I'm confident that he and Roof-Rite will stand behind the work they performed. Thanks again Roof-Rite for a job well done.

Worked with Chet. He was the 3rd and last quote and I was ready to proceed with someone else and really did not want to meet with another vendor. Chet upstaged both of the competitors. Matched cheapest price, provided superior materials, was incredibly punctual, did fabulous work with short lead time. If you are replacing your roof you will short change yourself if you do not talk to Chet first.

We worked with Chet Simpson and he truly seemed to care about his work. I had over 6 contractors come out and bid the job and he was one of the few that actually insisted on meeting me and walked me through every step of the process. In the end it was between them and one other company. The only thing the other company had over Roof-Rite was the price, so he agreed to match it. They had a dumpster delivered on a Monday, and the roof of taken off and redone on Tuesday. The crew came in and out and left the place like they were not even there. I was extremely pleased with the service I received and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get a new roof done.

The re-roof project was performed as advertised. I couldn't be happier with the service and the crew. The storm damage repair proved to be the same. Excellent response. I'm totally satisfied.

From the estimate to the clean-up this company was top notch. They were very professional, diligent and respectful of our home and property. They were prompt and did the job in the timeframe stated by the contract. Pam, Shawn, and the entire crew, plus their contract personnel were all great! We love our new roof and will reccomend Roof-Rite without reservation.

A great experience. They came in the dead of winter to replace my roof in anticipation of my listing my home for sale. They were very professional and did a great job. Would definitely recommend them. They were not my lowest bid but one I felt comfortable working with. They even assisted me with filing a claim on the existing shingles which had failed.

I am very pleased.. Pam from Roof Rite was very easy to talk to and shared her expertise on the best solution for my very old Roof. The work crew seemed a little late on the first day but once they got started they were very efficient ( extremely fast and friendly. I think the job took about 2 days and the finished work was beautiful. The only reminder I would give is for the homeowner and provider to coordinate better with local bulding inspesctor to insure it is inspected in a timely manner before the shingles are applied. I think it has been 2-3 years and to date there have been no problems with the roof. I had excessive ice build up this Winter but I think that is due to sagging gutters.

Roof-rite was the only company that followed up on their original quotation (my salesman was Jim Brown). I had contacted several and received quotes from three. My actual purchase was delayed, and while the other company's prices had increased substantially Roof-Rite's did not.

I was happy with the work and services provided and will definitely being contacting this company in the spring when it comes time to repair the roof after the snow & ice clear.

They were on time and did a good job. It’s been close 10 years since they did the work and there have been no leaks or problems since.

After months of a promised, repair they never showed up.What a waste of time. I will never call them again.

The responsiveness was good. They came out when they said they would. They cleaned up very nicely. Everything was on schedule and I was satisfied. Everytime I had a question the owner was available.

Called Oct 31,2013.. woke up to water dripping on my bed.. Had to put towels on the bed to catch water.. We had a big rain storm. Roof-Rite came out the next morning. Their sales man Paul Whorf at 1-248-219-8243 came out and looked at our roof. We thought for sure we needed a new roof. We have a home that was built in 2001. But we also knew other people in our subdivision were replacing their roofs. We figured we too needed a new roof . Paul came and looked everything over. Then he came in to talk to me and told me all we needed was to have a our soil stack flange recaulked. He said he had extra caulk in his van if I had the caulk gun... He said he saw the caulk was bad and needed to be replaced.. He said for $25 he would fix it for us... He gave me a price on a new roof, which I thought was very fair... He said we had at least 4 years before we needed to replace our roof. I was very impressed with this man and this company... They could of sold me a new roof but instead they were honest and helped fix our leak for only $25.00. In 4 years, I will be calling them back... He told me the owner told him that their motto was to be honest and give the customer only what they need.

Went very well. From getting the estimate to followup, Chet was outstanding. Punctual, considerate, honest and thorough. I can't say enough about the crew. They worked their butts of for 2 days straight. I'm a diehard do-it-yourselfer, and I honestly had considered doing the job myself, but after seeing their efficiency, professionalism and speed, I'm considering this money very well spent. I was home both days and just enjoyed the heck out of watching these guys work. Chet also arranged to have gutters installed on the second story (which we never had, and probably contributed to the wear of the roofing on the lower level), and that was done like clockwork. The dumpster (trailer) arrived on time, and was gone a couple hours after the crew left. The crew cleaned up both days they were there (the tear-off of the old roof made a huge mess), and did a final very thorough cleanup before they left. We found very few leftovers on close inspection. They protected our plantings and bushes around the house while they were working. All in all, an excellent experience from top to bottom. Everybody showed up on schedule, no surprises on the estimate, and the job looks perfect. Buying a new roof is something nobody wants to spend money on, but if it has to get done, I highly recommend Roof-Rite. I had 4 estimates before I decided on Roof-Rite. The price was good, right in the ballpark of what I expected to spend, and we got the roof we wanted. Plus, they're certified installers of the brand of roofing we wanted, which is important when it comes to warranty.

Pam and Jim Brown of Roof Rite were awesome. They couldn't have done anything better than they did! They were professional and friendly at the same time, their price was the best and they were above and beyond our expectations. As you can tell, I can't say enough about their company and what a marvelous job they did for us. The roof is great and so were they!

We called and asked for an estimate on roofing. Their site says they service Wayne County. They do not service Detroit which is in Wayne county. We had two call backs from this company after scheduling an estimate. When they called back,one call a female and one call from a male, we were told that they did not service Detroit. It is false advertising to say on Angie's list that they service Detroit. They were very polite about it but very direct in the fact that they have no service in Detroit which is considered red-lining.Not to mention that their website says they service Wayne county and Detroit. and they do not.This is false advertising and it is illegal. Please watch using this company since they are using false advertising to sell their services.

All went well. Fast install and cleanup. Paul W**** gave a good presentation and answered all my questions. Would probably not go with edge vents in future. (Would have gone with soffit vents in hindsight as this gives a cleaner look (in my opinion). Gave a look that I was not really happy with at first but do not notice now. However this was my choice and edgevents probably proved cheaper? Overall I am pleased to recommend Roof-Rite.

Once I told Pam my problem she immediately gave me Greg's number to ask him if he repaired copper roofing problems. I called Greg and we scheduled him to come and give an estimate in a few days. He showed up on time and told me I needed a person with copper roofing repair skills. However, if I could not find anyone then give him a call and he would do the following steps. Unfortunately I lost my estimate from him but he was so detailed I felt I could go to the store, get the supplies and do it myself. He even showed me the fastenings he had and what I should be looking for. I would call back with future roofing problems.
