+ 0 moreThey were a day later then they said they were coming but that wasn't a big deal. When they were done I contacted them cause of issuses like.First There was a ridge on the second row of shingles and the edge is raised since it was all sheeted the roof should have been flat you would think. Next there're is a dormer on one side and they didn't shingle all the way to it so the nailer strip is exposed and now I will have to climb up there to finish it cause they wont come and do it. Next when they were nailing on the drip edge they used very long nails that came around and out the fascia boards. Next they were very rough on my siding and put tears in some of it plus dents and a hole where they hit it with the dumpster door. What I did wrong was paid them as soon as I got the bill for the balance due.. They seemed very nice before they did the work so I thought there would be no reason to hold the payment. lesson learned don't pay till everything is done right.
Description of Work: Striped all the old roofing. And install new underlayment and shingles.

Description of Work: The bid was to remove the old asphalt shingle roof, replace all of the flashing, drip-edge, underlayment and shingles in addition to covering the old dome vent holes and installing new ridge vents. Several weeks went by between accepting the bid and performing the work which occurred in late November during a week of rain. The quality of the work appeared "OK" with no evidence of "going the extra step". For example: the holes in the roof from removing the dome vents were covered by nailing flashing over the holes rather than replacing a section of plywood, none of the 25 year old flashing was replaced but re-caulked, the existing drip-edge was not replaced. The roof was cut/exposed at the ridge (for the ridge vent) but not temporarily covered at mid-day when it was raining the and the work crew was gone at lunch. Due to the cold weather and impending winter I was concerned that the shingles would not seal against one another and voiced this concern to the foreman who stated he was accustomed to installing roofs this late into the season and one good sunny day would do the job (I don't think we had a sunny day until after the roof was covered in snow that lasted for several months). I still question how well the shingles sealed due to the amount of dust and sand that blew under the shingles before a hot sunny day occurred. The "clean up" from the old roof and construction debris was quite good. The original bill matched the bid and was later adjusted (without a problem) when I pointed out to the business owner that the original bid included new drip-edge that wasn't replaced, with the owner stating his foreman never communicated this to him. Overall it appears as though the job got done in a very methodical fashion from a big company without any "extra care" or communication provided. I hope they're correct in not having to worry about the shingles sealing and not needing to replace the flashing and boots to prevent leaks in the future.
