Terry is great. Answered all my questions, showed me how it all works, gave advice, and obviously tuned the piano nicely. Turns out he also plays piano beautifully.

Terry was quick to answer phone calls and it was easy to set up an appointment. He was friendly, gave me his fees right up front and described what he was doing and why, like what was wrong with the broken pedal. He showed me the different parts of the piano and told me about some work I could do myself, so I did. I vacuumed out the inside, top and bottom, after he took the white keys off, and I used some steel wool on the strings to make their sound clear (who knew you could do that?).
When he returned with the fresh white keys, he tested each one and made sure they didn't rub, and if they did, he filed them down until they were right. He adjusted the height of each key, a painstaking job.
Our 1939 piano looks great now! It's all cleaned up and the sound is much clearer. We'll be calling Terry next time we need a tuning.

At first, I was going to get rid of the piano due to its poor condition and sound. However, Terry was very responsive and offered quality work at a competitive price. Furthermore, he completed the job in a timely fashion. Thanks to him, my piano sounds great and has been transformed into a beautiful music piece.

Terry was wonderful, indulging my constant questions about how the piano worked, his personal history, etc. As he tuned, he appeared to be and quot;in the zone,and quot; and watching him was fascinating - I would rehire him in a heartbeat!

Overall, things went smoothly. There were no surprises anywhere along the way (Terry moved the piano from St. Clair Shores to White Lake, in addition to the above-mentioned services). He showed up as promised, and performed the expected work in a timely fashion. He originally thought he would have to do two tunings (the first just to "bring it up to pitch"), but when he started tuning, he decided a second one would not be needed, and adjusted his original estimate downward accordingly.
