Hardwood Flooring Service
Amazing work. I do not give references easily however Mr. Kim Berg earns an A++++ in my book. Kim (he is a man not a lady mind you!) lives and has his office in Grosse Pointe - and finishes and repairs hard wood floors throughout the Southeastern Michigan area. My house is in Berkley at 11 Mile and Woodward - and the location was no problem for Kim at all. I actually found Mr. Berg by accident on the "Detroityes" web-site as I was trying to find someone who others had confidence in to do the job. Since I have a historic home - not just any person would work for me - I wanted someone with good references. The Detroityes site said (in not so many words) that "Kim Berg is a genius with wood who does all the houses in historic Indian Village homes - you HAVE to use him." I took a chance - I called him - they were so right.
I was impressed at the very start in that Kim is very mild-mannered and soft spoken - didn't try to push anything - was only interested in helping. Very quickly I learned that Kim is an old-school type of craftsman - someone without a web page or Facebook page or any kind of marketing or PR. Kim goes only by word of mouth and his reputation - he doesn't advertise - he doesn't have to!
Mr. Kim Berg beat every single quote I received - some of the quotes were up to $5k - Kim did it in more than half that amount! I had to do a living room, dining room , 2 bedrooms, hallway and complete upstairs that included 4 separate rooms and multiple closets in a 1925 Sears Craftsman style home. Kim did multiple floor repairs to my house - replaced boards - filled in cracks - and was someone who I trusted from day one...meet him and you will understand what I am saying. Kim was also honest that the boards he would use as replacements would not match my original wood completely - He was charming as he said - 1925 wood and 2013 wood - just don't completely match...he was right - but he sure made it close!
In summary - if you want someone you can trust at a great price - Mr. Kim Berg is your guy.
