Matthew Simpson and his CWP Crew, did a great job on our detail bay, came in on Friday evening to prep and painted over the weekend, and Monday eve. Worked well with our shops flow.

On May 13, 2017 we signed a Home Improvement Contract with College Works Painting Project Manager Mark Danks for exterior painting, caulking, and minor repair to trim around a door. We provided Mark with a personal check in the amount of $850.00 (half of the contract price). The check has not been cashed to date, and has NOT been returned to us despite numerous requests and costs for "Stop Payment" services to our bank. When we signed the contact we were advised the personnel who would be completing the work are painting professionals. When the "crew" arrived (over 1 hr late) on the first day of the project, it was obvious they were college students and NOT the professional painters as represented during the project estimate planning. One of our first indicator of non-professionals was when Mark Danks attached a rope to one of his assistants, threw the rope over the top of our house to the backyard side and tied the rope to a tree. One of the projects on our contract was to paint an exterior entry door. A crew member assigned to this task did NOT prep, clean or tape the glass, locks, or metal before beginning to paint. Caulking work as listed on the contact was NOT complete nor was the product used with the knowledge of the product drying time between application and painting. At this point in the project I spoke with the Project Manager, Mark Danks. I expressed my concerns regarding work being performed and the lack of professional skills. Mark Danks and his crew departed our house to begin work at another job site and said they would return later in the day to continue applying the first coat of paint. No one from the "Crew" returned to our house and we did not received contact from Mark Danks until after 7:30 pm stating they would return in the morning by 8:00 a.m. On the second day of the project, two of the "crew" arrived but were over an hour late. After observing some additional work being performed, we decided to stop the project until we could communicate with a College Works Painting supervisor in Lansing MI. I received a phone call from Aaron Sentofanti (517-802-7411) District Manager for College Works Painting. Aaron offered to meet with us at our home to evaluate the project and attempt to resolve our issue. Aaron never called or arrived at our home. I have repeatedly call his number and receive only a voice message. To date the project remains incomplete and unsatisfactory. We have not received our check despite our requests, we are unable to communicate with College Works Painting management. We would not recommend this organization, it's representatives and it's employees.

This was a positive experience from beginning to end!  College Works' local representative, Eli Miksicek, was awesome!!  He began by spending time with us introducing the company, the process, and showing examples of their work.  Not only does he know the company and the service he represents, but he did a great job listening to us and making sure he understood exactly what we wanted and gave us lots of excellent options -- very professional for someone so young.  The work was begun on time and he and his partner did an excellent job.  They were thorough, careful, and respectful of our property -- especially while painting around all the screens on the porch and shielding us from bugs while the front door needed to be open.  The house has never looked better, the 3-season porch has been given a new lease on life, and the front door is back to beautiful.  Can't thank them enough!!

Tommy Barton and his crew were excellent! I had my 3 story house painted, along with the trim and soffits. They spray washed my house, scraped, patched and painted it. They showed up when promised, finished the job in four days as projected, cleaned up every night and then walked me around to show me what was completed and what was to be accomplished the following day. Very polite and hard working college guys!
