I can't say enough about how happy I am with the Carpet Guys. I don't normally write reviews (because customer service and the quality of service in recent years has become pathetic across the board) but I felt compelled to write for these guys. They showed up on time, they were professional, and they completed the installation on time too. That never happens - ever- anymore! If you are sick of being jerked around by companies that over charge you, don't show up on time, or take forever to complete the project, call these guys...you won't be disappointment.

I was really impressed by the service I received. The sales person came in on a Saturday. There was no pressure at all. Since the carpet I chose was in stock, they were able to come the following Monday. I thought it would be cheaper since my house is very small (980 sq. ft.) and I was just getting carpet in the living room and hallway. So the price did suprise me however, I have never had new carpet installed so it may have been on par. I really don't know. The 2 men came promptly Monday morning and had it installed in about 2 hours. I was embarrassed because I have a cat that decided she wasn't using the litter box anymore and had been urinating on the old carpet. I apologized in advance for any smell that was there and I didn't hear them complain about it-but I am sure they have seen worse :) They cut and rolled up the old carpet and put it at the curb. They cut it to the exact measurements that are stated on the St. Clair Shores trash policy-and they are VERY strict about that stuff so I was releived when it was picked up. I love my new carpet and would definately reccommend them to anyone.

The Carpet Guys performed an initial site survey where the representative answered all of my questions and provided a quote. Everyone from this company that I interacted with was highly professional and communicative. The work completed was excellent.

The Carpet Guys were very good and prompt. I had a very good experience with them. The first time I called and scheduled an appointment with them, the guy was supposed to show up with the samples. He didn't come in or call. I ended up calling them back and the manager was very apologetic and he sent someone to me right away and made sure I got the appropriate discounts and everything else. They had a good amount of samples. The guys who came in to install it were very, very good. They were very prompt, very efficient and knew what they were doing. They did a very good job. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody and I would totally use them again, if I had to. I was impressed that the owner called me back and rectified the situation so quickly. They gave me a competitive price, for what they were offering. They provide very good service for the value.

Needed new carpeting in the master bedroom when I moved into my new house. Dan was professional and courteous. Installation was several days later, which went OK, except there was a minor delay in the delivery of the carpet (went to a different location). The installer spent time on the phone back to the owner, and they got the new carpeting installed within a few hours. The carpeting and installation were good, and it was outstanding to have the owner directly involved to get the carpeting to the right location. Great Customer Service!!

It was a great experience. Our salesman was great. Very informative, sensitive to our needs, and gave us what we thought was a very fair price. The installers were on time and when we had a slight issue after the vinyl floor was installed, they came out and fixed it quickly. The carpeting we bought was on clearance but seems very high quality. All in all, it was exactly the experience we wanted. We would use them again for sure.

Crew showed up in the morning moved furniture, removed old carpet and installed new. Installation was flawless and seems appeared to have disappeared . Was very pleased with the price,carpet quality,great pad and the professional installers. Will use them again when we are ready for the great room carpet replacement.

They were all right. They were punctual and got the job done. However, we had one problem with one of the rooms. There was a seam in the middle of the room that I wasn't really happy with, but they apparently said that’s the only place it could go and couldn't fix it.

Anytime a room exceeds 12 feet in width, there unfortunately has to be a seam to bind the two pieces of fabric together. In your particular case, the layout of your front living room in connection with your hallway dictates that there would need to be a seam dead-smack in your main walk area or else towards the center of the room. In either case the seam on a flat Berber carpet is never completely invisible just like it wouldn't be invisible on any other fabric such as a pair of pants or even the nicest quality dress shirts. They came to look at the job the next day after I called them. They did the job 2 days later. They were very professional. The job was done in a few hours. They did a great job and I will definitely use this company in the future. I have no complaints! The stairs now look better than they ever did. Thanks Carpet Guys !

I absolutely understand why this company has been nominated for the Page of Happiness. Having recently moved, I've had to have a lot of work done in two houses and this is one of only two companies who responded quickly and performed beyond expectation. At the risk of gushing too much and sounding as if I was their doting mother, these men are prompt, professional and dedicated to making the customer happy. The installers had to work around 3 painters and a plumber, but they were willing to do it and the quality of their work sure didn't suffer. The carpet looks elegant and the padding gives it the extra plush feel. Everything was put back correctly, and when they left, the area was neat and looked great. Through no fault of theirs (and I can't stress that enough ... it was nothing they could have foreseen or prevented). there were a few glitches in the flooring but they came back to address it immediately. The owner, Joe, came to inspect it, and Kenny, the installer, gave up a Saturday morning and made certain I was pleased with the result. I'm more than pleased, The three-man crew was so easy to work with, as well as fast and efficient, and very personable. They are all customer-oriented and there was no question that my satisfaction was a priority.
This team has the Old School work ethic, and I was blessed to have hired them. I even reqeusted lawn signs after the job was complete for both houses because I want to get the word out about them. We recently moved to this house, and shortly before Carpet Guys started the job here, I was widowed suddenly and was left alone with this house and one to sell. I never mention my newly solo status to any of the tradesmen I interview for the work I need done.. The experiences were not always good until I met The Carpet Guys. Two tradesmen were unscrupulous beyond expression, a couple were not terribly professional, and one said he would have to talk to the "man of the house" before "letting" me sign the contract. Most of them wanted me to buy extended warranties, more product, etc. I did a LOT of reserach on everything I was having done. The salesman for the Carpet Guys came in, did his job well, never pressured me, and it was a done deal before he left. The crew worked around adverse conditions and wanted reassurance that I was happy with the work. This is a no-brainer: these are the guys to hire.

We had recently bought the house and had no idea what was under the terrible carpet. It wasn't pretty. Lumped up, uneven, and just a mess. The crew tore out the old carpet and pad in no time at all. They laid down the new carpet beautifully in a large great-room, two hallways, several closets, two set of steps and two staircases with a landing in between. When they were finished it looked tailored to perfection. The crew was friendly, professional and worked h****** a day it was hitting 90 degrees outside. They definately earn their pay.

The Carpet Guys was one of three carpet companies we contacted. If possible, we wanted the carpet installed between December 19th and 22nd, when more family members would arrive to spend Christmas with my mom. The day after my phone call to The Carpet Guys, which was around December 14th, Don (one of their Design Consultants) arrived at my mother's promptly at the scheduled time to show her carpet samples, answer our questions, and give us an estimate. Don was very knowledgeable, professional, and did not pressure us in the least.
We chose The Carpet Guys from among the three companies contacted, largely because they seemed the most dedicated to satisfying the customer and because they always power-stretch the new carpet. We were very pleased that Don, in order to make it possible for the carpet to be ordered, received, and installed within our timeframe, offered to come back to my mother's at a late hour to write up the order, after what previously had been his "last" appointment for the evening.
We received a phone call giving us a "heads up" that the carpet would be installed on the morning of December 20th. The installation crew arrived on time, moved all the heavy furniture pieces, and did a very nice job laying the new pad and carpet. We paid the exact amount of the estimate.
Later that day I noticed marks on the baseboards, which occurred during the installation and which I believed would require that the baseboards be repainted, I phoned Don. He arrived within hours. I was shown how the marks on the baseboard could be removed relatively easily, without the need to repaint.

went well. found Carpet Guys in 'zine that Angieslist sends out. Contacted them. Their rep, Don, came out, measured and provided quotes for flooring. Don met me at their flooring warehouse to help select the flooring for the kitchen that i was looking for. he went above and beyond by going to Lowes w/me so that we could match the flooring to the countertops and cabinets i was using. install was professional and completed as described.

We called the Carpet Guys and they were able to come out the next day for an estimate, although we chose to wait until the following week. When they came out, they took measurements and gave us an explanation of services provided. We picked which carpet we wanted and they came to install it the next day. They moved our furniture, removed all of the old flooring and installed the new carpet. The men who came to do the installation were very nice and professional. We were pleased with their promptness and quick service and would definitely consider using them again in the future.

The color installed, when it was done, was not really what we expected, although this is partly our fault. Nevertheless, it is good quality underpadding and carpeting. The installers worked efficiently. The only glitch was that instead of putting the remaining furniture into other parts of the house, they put it out on our patio through the door wall. While they were working, it started to rain and they had to hurry and either cover or move the furniture back into the house. There was no damage.

The estimate went great and the price was in our expected range and comparable to competitors. Schedule the install was easy and was only a couple of days later.
I'm quite pleased with the carpet, especially around the poles (it almost looks like the lifted the pole and cut a hole in the carpet to lay it in, no seams at all). They removed the old carpet and pad from the stairs and replaced it. Overall, the job took roughly 6 hours. We had about 800 sq. ft., a dry bar, 3 poles, 3 drain cleanouts. They did a great job going around the obstacles.
Initially the installers were going to carpet right over the old ratty carpet that was on the stairs. A quick call to our salesperson fixed that problem. After laying the new carpet, they showed it to my wife and proceeded to walk on it with their wet shoes. I'm surprised they didn't wear booties, but not no dirt on the carpet.
Even with that (relatively minor) issue, I would definitely use them again. I'm going to need some floor refinishing and/or carpet in the near future, and they will be my first phone call.
Update - We discovered that when laying the stairs on the carpet, the installers inadvertently cut the wire that went to the interior garage door opener by our back door. Joe (who I presume is the owner) and the installers came back out, apologized, said they were having a bit of a rough day (it was a lousy, rainy day on installation day), and fixed the problem.
Initially, I had professionalism at a B for the couple of minor issues on install day, but because of the prompt fix and professional apology and follow up for the cut wire, I changed it to an A.
I would highly recommend them and use them again without hesitation!

Within minutes of going online through their website to request an appointment, I received a phone call from The Carpet Guys. We arranged an appointment for that evening (Monday) and had our carpet installed on Friday! I've purchased carpet for a few houses over the years, but this is the first time I've ever had anyone come to the house with carpet samples. I'll never go to a carpet store again! Our salesman, Don, was very patient with us. Although we are usually quick decision-makers, we saw so many beautiful styles and colors that we just couldn't decide. Don hung in their with us and offered no pressure whatsoever to decide. He gave advice and asked a lot of questions to help us narrow down our selection. Ultimately we picked a style and color that are just perfect. The Carpet Guys pride themselves on their installation. I know first-hand how important that component is. Their installers were friendly, professional, courteous and quick. Even though I only had one room carpeted, it was 45 square yards of carpeting with several cut-outs. They moved the furniture, cut the old pad and carpeting into 3' sections, and secured them properly for trash pick-up. They installed the new pad and carpet, put the furniture back and vacuumed. The whole job was complete before noon. The next time I need carpet, I will be making ONE phone call. I would not hesitate to recommend The Carpet Guys!
