McLean Construction

From start to finish McLean Construction was a pleasure to work with. We had received 5 different quotes that were all over the board. Jim came in around the middle price-wise, but his professionalism and knowledge of the work quickly established him as our contractor of choice. The job took a little over 2 days. The crew was very courteous, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I would HIGHLY recommend McLean Construction to a family member or friend.

They did a great job on our roof.  The completed roof looks great, and the crew did a good job of cleanup.  Jim was very helpful and easy to work with. 
Due to the size of our roof they worked in sections always tearing off and fully completing each section before the end of the day, because of some evening rain forecasts they spread the two day job over three days to play it safe and make sure we entirely missed any rain.  
We are very happy with the quality of the work.  I would recommend them to friends and family, this is also how I heard about them, they did a great job replacing a family member's roof a few years back.

Jim, replaced my roof back in 1998 and did an excellent job. Tear off was professional, assistants had the shingles picked up off the ground before 10am, they started at 8am.. The roofing crew continued to work.  Corrected any issue with the drip edge, and under lying problems with the wood planking.
in 2008 had a small leak around the chimney, Called Jim, he came out and re-flashed/ tarred and caulked.  Did not charge me, took him about an hour and it was a quality job.
Current work.. Had issues with the nails popping out of the gutters, some of the gutters where loose, seems some water may have run behind the facia and rotted some boards.  
Mr. Mclean inspected and gave a fair quote. Time frame was extend a few weeks due to storms we had and they were busy, but my Nov. 2014 the facia boards were replaced, facia trim was replaced and ready for the gutter person.  
 The Gutter person spoke with me about the down spouts and I asked him, with his experience do place them where he feels best.  They are now in better locations to handle the run off. They used clips and screws instead of the old nail system so no more nail pops due to ice and weather change.
Our 4 porch posts had been rotting, we talked about replacing, then it was suggested to aluminum clad them for protection and durability.. They saved 2 , rebuilt 2 and took a bit off the original quote.
It was a A++++ job like the roofing.  
We spoke about the roof and he said we have a few more years, it was 25 year roof. No pressure. 
Every thing was cleaned up and the only thing you noticed was a nicer gutter system with no disruption elsewhere.
Honest person and great company, and I am a stickler and don't like the fly by night companies out there.

Jim is extremely easy to work with. There was no sales pressure. He simply provided the requested estimate. The work was completed on schedule and the quality was excellent. I used them to replace the roof on my house a number of years ago and the quality was the same. Overall, dealing with McLean has been a professional and pleasant experience.

McLean Contructions was absolutely professional. They showed up on time and completed the job a day early. These guys worked from 7:30 am to 8:00pm. On the first day, the completed the roof on my house and the prep work for the garage. If you hire McLean Construction, Jim will personally contact you and provide you with project status twice a day. I was so impressed by their work, they will be back to update the siding on my garage.

Great! Contractor was professional and timely. Inspected work upon completion.

Overall I had a good roofing experience. The owner is the estimator. The estimate process sucessfully resulted in fulfilling my needs for value: qualtify work at a fair price. The installers acted courteously protecing property adequately during installation. The clean up was satisfactory. They did complete the roofing project on time and on schedule. They did immediately follow up my post installation concern. They met my expectations. I would recommend this company to others. The weakness of the company is a common one for small business owners: administration. The was a problem in the scheduling the of the dumpster was and the completion of the warranty process was delayed. These weaknesses did not detract from my overall good experience.
The gutter installation was performed professionally by a long term subcontractor of the company. There was some confusion with the color of the gutters. Ultimately, God smiled upon me and the color of the gutters turned out great. The new gutters were installed differently than the old gutters in what appears to be an improved system.

I called Mclean Construction in Sept of 2011 to get an estimate to tear off and replace my roof and replace my gutters. Jim Broecker came out and I told him what I wanted to do. He went up on the roof to take a look around and to measure how many squares the roof was. I told him the roof was 17 years old. After inspecting the roof he told me the roof was structurally solid and had about 2 more years of life left. He gave me a detailed quote on replacing the roof and fixing a sag that was over the garage area. He gave me a separate quote on the gutters in case I wanted to replace them before the roof. He also gave me a brochure about the company and brochures about the shingles he would be using and the ice and water shield and the felt paper going underneath the shingles. I didn't have the work done that fall.
I called back in May of 2012 and told Jim I would now like to get the work done. He said that prices for materials and labor had remained the same so the price would be the same. I asked him about a different make of shingle and he brought over a book on that make as well as a shingle of the kind he was proposing for the roof. Whatever make of shingle I liked was what he would put on the roof. We scheduled the work for the middle of June. Jim said he would call a couple of days before to let me know when they would be starting on the roof. Jim called and the next day they started and finished the roof. It only took one day. Jim was there at the start told me what would be happening and said it should be finished that day. Jim stopped by a couple of time during the day to inform me of the progress and to make sure I was happy with the work being done. The vents were much better than what I had on the roof and color coordinated also. The crew cleaned up all the old material.
Jim said the gutters would be installed in a couple of days. 2 days later his gutter installer was out to remove the old and install the new. The work was done that morning and the entire job was now finished. Jim was in constant contact to make sure I was satisfied with the quality of the work. It was a great experience and I would hire them again.

The guys I had dealt with were very good.They did an excellent job and were easy to deal with. They even came out to expect it after the job. If I were to do the work again, I would check back in with them.

The man was very nice. He did a little inspection before he did the work. He went out of his way to be accommodating.

He has always done a great job. The thing that was really impressive was that last year we were getting a lot of banging on the roof of our house and we could never figure out where it was coming from, he came out and did a complete inspection of the roof and couldn't find anything. My wife asked him how much he was going to charge and he said that he wasn't going to charge anything because he wasn't able to do anything. This guy is great and very honest. He does his work on time and you can trust him.

I THINK THIS COMPANY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES REALLY WELL. THIS COMPANY WAS ALSO REALLY POLITE AND FRIENDLY. THEY LISTENED TO ME ABOUT WHAT I WANTED DONE.

THE WORK CREW THAT REPORTED TO MY HOUSE WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HARD WORKING. THERE WERE SIX WORKERS, AND EVERYONE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO DO. BELIEVE ME, THESE GUYS HAD A SYSTEM, AND THEY DID NOT ONLY DO THE JOB RIGHT, BUT THEY GOT THE JOB DONE IN ABOUT FIVE HOURS. I WAS AMAZED.
