AMERICAN CLASSIC KITCHEN & BATH

My wife and I are very pleased with the outcome of the remodel. We had no significant issues at completion (10/31/15) and 9 months out (6/27/16), we still have no significant issues. We worked with Chris Ehlen (owner of American Classic Kitchens and Baths) on the remodeling plan including cost estimates and design alternatives starting in early 2015 culminating with a written contract in May 2015. The remodel started in June 2015, stopped in September while we were on vacation, and finished up in October 2015. As the remodel progressed, we made changes and added items which extended the work time. Besides doing an excellent quality job for a reasonable cost, the following stands out about Chris:  (1) He was a pleasure to work with. He and all of his subcontractors were professional, competent, and generally just a nice group of people to have working in your home -- which is very important when you live in the home while the remodeling is going on.  (2) He was willing to work with me on a written contract, as oppose to some who don't like contracts and some who want to dictate 'take it or leave it' terms.  (3) He identified a structural house issue (lack of floor support for an interior wall after subfloor demolition) which he addressed for a reasonable cost. Some may have ignored with subsequent wall sag.   (4) He helped maintain project timing by personally lobbying the cabinet provider (who he knew personally) to advance delivery even though we did not order cabinets through Chris.  (5) His attention to finish detail (carpentry, drywall, and painting) was excellent.

Chris was AWESOME as were his employees. He was so on top of everything. He is incredibly accommodating and pleasant to work with. He even brought me a loaf of his wife's zucchini bread! The work he did is absolutely top notch with very close attention to detail. I am an artist and I really appreciate his focus on the aesthetics of his work and making everything look well "finished".
About 2 weeks after he finished my bathroom I got a new Dryer. The delivery people would not hook it up because it was not the proper pipe. I called Chris to see if he knew someone that would do this small job. He came out and did it himself and found a glass block guy to put in my new vent. He is a terrific person and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any job that you might have. You will have NO regrets.

I will start with the fact that this was a job that involved fixing stuff that a different 'contractor' did horribly. Chris came out to see what they could do to repair the appeal of my bathroom. We decided to tile over the existing tile and add the picture framing that I had originally wanted. We also added a marble threshold to cover a weird slab of mystery material that was left sticking out from underneath the tub. The tile now looks beautiful! The grout lines are perfect, the pattern is exactly what I wanted and it really turns what was an eyesore into a feature. They also replaced a toilet that was super loud and not level... the new one is level and doesn't wake my baby. A great experience thanks to Chris and his team!

We were sure of our decision to choose Chris and Dean after our initial meeting. They were friendly and easy to work with. We first contacted them to regrout our shower, but soon learned we had water damage behind shower wall. There was no pressure to do any additional work, but we chose to have them do a total remodel after learning of damage. We are so pleased with how everything went. The work was completed according to schedule. They were neat and did a very professional job. They care that the work is done right. The bathroom looks beautiful. We would highly recommend them to any of our family or friends. We would use them again for any future work we might need.

American Classic Kitchen and Bath remodeled my kitchen in my previous home. When I decided to update both bathrooms in my present home I knew I wanted Chris Ehlen's company to do this job also. When we discovered the extensive water damage to the sub floor, I was glad that I had chosen American Classic for the job. Chris assured me that everything could and would be replaced or repaired as needed. Both bathrooms had water damage,but Chris and his crew were able to do the work in such a way that I was never without a toilet and therefore did not have to find a place to stay while work was being done.
The finished bathrooms are beautiful. I am so pleased with the way they both look. Chris has good taste and is helpful when making decisions such as which vanity, paint color, tile, etc. to choose. He is also sensitive to budget considerations. He does not try to direct you to more expensive options. He did not become irritated when I changed my mind on a faucet, even though he already had picked up my first choice. The work crew that came into my home were all very nice, considerate guys who got to work right away; they didn't even break for lunch! I was impressed with the work done by the guys from Quality Tile. The gentleman who laid the shower wall tile did an excellent job. He looked at the pattern in the tile and created an eye pleasing result. Chris and his co-workers are polite, trustworthy, and agreeable professionals to work with. When I renovate my kitchen I'll be calling American Classic Kitchen and Bath.

I can't say enough good things about Chris and his crew. They were neat and careful and very considerate of the fact that we were living in the house while they worked. They did everything we asked and more. We are thrilled with the job they did. I would hire them back in a minute!

Chris was referred to us by another Angie's List provider that is installing a new tile floor in our first floor bathroom. The pocket door had been an annoyance since we purchased our house. It would constantly get stuck and was very unattractive. Chris came out, discussed the project and returned the next week to do the work. He did an excellent job and my wife and I are very pleased with the service and the new door.

The demo team completed their portion of the job in one week and
the tile crew came in the second week and finished without any complications.
During the third week the glass company installed the glass and shower
door. Both Chris and Dean followed up with us to ensure that we were
satisfied with the job. That we were!

The entire job went very well and I am delighted with the results. We have known Chris and his company for more than 5 years, and he has done a variety of work in our home. Initially, we met Chris when we called him based on Glen Haege's referral to remodel two bathrooms. Chris and his people did a great job on that project and we have called on him ever since when we need reliable assistance with a variety of home repair issues. This year, we had a variety of projects that needed attention. Chris came out to look at the job, and then returned promptly to do the work. He is honest, professional, reasonably priced and great to work with. As always, we were very pleased with our experience.

The job went extremely well. We found Chris very easy to work with. He was there when he said he would be and moved the project along quickly. The craftsmen that he hires are not only highly skilled but also trustworthy. All work that was performed was excellent. When we have work done, we want to hire someone with integrity and knowledge, so that we know the job will be done right. If you hire Chris, you will find that his pricing is fair, his approach is open and honest, and his work product is high quality. We recommend him strongly.
