I had my gas fireplace cleaned. They did an amazing job!! Took their time and answered all my questions. They were knowledgeable and friendly. After they left I called with additional questions and they contacted me back right away. Great experience! Highly recommend!

They did an excellent job from filing for permit, quality installation and training on how to use my remote control gas log. Highly recommended!

At first, we just anticipated an inspection and cleaning of our fireplace. Upon Ace inspecting the project, it was discovered we had major issues with our fireplace, including mortar failures and the need to rebuild the flue. Over four days, Ace replumbed the flue, replaced eroded brickwork, rebuilt the firebox and created a beautiful center for our family to enjoy our Michigan winters. The staff was friendly and great to work with. Considering the amount of work done, the price was more than fair.

On January 10th Ed Kiing came to our house to measure and quote us a price on an inside mount fireplace door which was $900.00. A $600.00 deposit was required which was two thirds of the price of the door which we thought was high. He claimed his price on the door was $700 which we later found out was actually $335, that is the first lie that we caught him in. The following day we went into the store to pick out colors and design of the door. He claimed he ordered the door that day and said it would take three weeks maximum for our door to come in. Two weeks later he called and asked what type of door it was, also what color the glass was. Needless to say we were caught by surprise at that phone call as he claimed he orderd it on the day we were in the store. We realized that we never received a copy of the work order or anything saying we gave him a check for $600.00. I called him back to asked him if he really orderd the door when he claimed he did and why we never received a copy of the work or proof of our deposit. At that point he became very arrogant and nasty. I told him I was coming to the store to get the work order and proof of my payment and he calmed down. I was able to get the information I needed even though he wasn't at the store. It was then that I discovered the fact that he lied about his actual price on the door. On February 8th he called to inform us that the door should be in by February 11th and installed later in the week. I called him on the 13th to check of the status of the door. His reply was "I would appreciate it if you would talk to me with respect instead of a piece of dog s*** on the side of the road" I responded by saying " is the door going to be installed by the end of the week like you said" he claimed it would be. The door was installed on the 15th of February. I came across the shipper in the box the door came in and discovered that he did not actually order the door til the 24th of January, another lie. I not would recommend this man or his company to anyone.

We called him for the job, did not check with Angie's list, he promised us the moons and stars. He had us pay $1000 upfront for the work. After the first day of work we were disgruntled because they had left a big hole uncovered in our home. My husband had to call him back and helped with putting up a tarp. We tried to get a hold of him through calling and texting.  After we told him we were not continuing with him, he came out and then told us that he would see us at Small Claims Court.

We received a noticed that we are being sued for $6000 because we cancelled the $1000 under our agreement with this company we had 3 days to cancel the job. We did pay for the work that this company did @ $50 an hour, in which we thought was very reasonable and after that he has tried to get claims against us for not having permits for the jobs we were having done on our house. He is claiming that we hired him and then fired him because we had found a company who could undercut his price.

Be aware of this man and his company. In my opinion he basically started a job with the intention to sue us because he knew we would fire him from the job.

The quoting process went fine, he came out when he said he would and worked with me on different options. When we agreed to go ahead, he ended up ordering a different log set than he originally said because the other one was on back order. I didn't care that much, but it was an irritation. They were very approximate on what day they were going to install, I didn't actually know until about the day before, which was frustrating. One installer showed up and was very nice, however several times, he realized that he didn't have the right equipment and had to go back to the shop. The one time in the afternoon he stated that they didn't estimate the size of the flue and didn't order the right damper, so he installed a piece of flashing on the top of the flue until he could come back the next week to install the new damper. The install took ALL day, 9am until about 5:30pm. They called the following week and stated that the new damper would cost $100 more and wanted me to pay, that was an irritation. Basically, getting them out to install the damper took another month. They would say they would come out and wouldn't show, several times. I didn't end up paying the extra $100, but got a lecture in the end about what a great deal I got. The logs do look great and put out a lot of heat, I'm not too happy about how the chain of the damper looks and I'll have to do something about that. In the end, I wouldn't recommend them. I might have gotten a good price but the hassle with not knowing when they would come and wrong parts and the lecture in the end left me with the bad review.
