Mr. Branham is both the owner of the company and the installer. We did not have to work with a salesperson and then an installer. He was very helpful in providing information on how the egress window and door would be installed and what the code requirements are for Independence Township in Oakland County Michigan. He took careful measurements and answered all my questions in a clear and helpful fashion. The project took a few week because the window needed to be special ordered and a permit obtained.
On the installation date, Mr. Branham and his helper arrived on time just as he said he would. The work was done in one day. They placed plywood on the grass so the equipment would not disturb the landscape. The project required that it be inspected to evidence that the weep tile was exposed. He arranged for the inspection on the morning of installation so nothing was held up. The inspector said the excavation was exceptionally done and observed that the weep tile was exposed and properly fitted for the egress well. They filled the whole well with pea stone so proper drainage would be possible. They cut the cement carefully making the installation exactly fit the opening. They were careful to caulk around the window opening. The final product was exactly as he had said it would be. It, in fact, looked very much like the pictures he has posted on this website. There were no surprises and no cost over runs.
I would use this contractor again in a heart beat. If you're looking to install an egress window in your basement you can do not better than A J Branham. We are very pleased we did.
