The project was done in two phases. After completion of phase one, contractor estimated cost of remaining work and asked for a deposit. The work was never completed, and I had to finish the job myself. when I asked for the return of the money which had been overestimated, contractor admitted that the money had been spent, and suggested that the balance be repaid in the form of additional work. I was not interested in contracting for a second time with a contractor who couldn't finish the first job and who took my money and spent it on himself, not on the project. I then had to file a small claim against the contractor.
