"I contacted Angie's List regarding the inaccuracies in this review and was told by a representative that Angie's List does not verify information of any review from a paid member. My recourse is a response on this site and/or legal. The Simaskos landscape project was completed 2 years ago......a 2016 Parade of Homes project which was finished over a week before required. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] told me how happy she was with her landscape the day I finished. She, in fact, stopped at our business location a week later to drop off a check and told my wife/secretary, it was beautiful & she was thrilled. In addition, we received many compliments from Parade visitors telling us it was one of the nicest landscapes on the Parade Tour. As with all of our projects the plant materials were personally selected from our wholesale nurseries - all landscape quality Michigan grown trees, shrubs & perennials. We use Hunter Pro Series irrigation products - all professional/industry standard. The lawn was seeded and fertilized initially in early June and, as part of our standard procedure, we returned 30 days later and over-seeded & fertilized again. We provided customer care instructions for the plant materials & lawn upon job completion. I received a phone call in mid-August from Mr. [Member Name Removed] requesting I stop by and look at his lawn - telling me he had fertilized the lawn and it had turned yellow. When I looked at his yard, it was obvious Mr. [Member Name Removed] had applied way too much fertilizer, consequently burning the lawn severely. He was advised to try and leach the fertilizer thru the soil by flooding it with the sprinkler system. We contacted the Simaskos three times (twice by phone & once by email) later in the season to inquire about the lawn and regarding winterizing their sprinkler system but did not receive a return call. TWO YEARS LATER.....we receive this 'review' stating that this landscape was completed in June 2018 - it was not. We have no idea (or maybe a very good one) how the landscape/irrigation has been maintained or not maintained. We install landscapes, we do not offer maintenance services. We advise our customers, if they are unable to do the required maintenance, they should hire a maintenance company of which there are many in our area. Anyone who gardens, realized proper & regular maintenance is required for a lovely & thriving landscape. We certainly cannot respond to someone who does not return our calls or ask us for help. Yet TWO YEARS LATER, we receive this very inaccurate & unfair review. We have customers who have been with us for 40 years and we take pride in our work.
