Bay Area Pet Hospital

Veterinarians,

About us

Bay Area Pet Hospital is northern Michigan's FIRST and ONLY 24/7 Emergency and Critical facility. Bay Area Pet Hospital also does "General Practice" medicine with regular clients for routine health needs, but primarily operates as an "emergency referral center". This means that our primary business comes from OTHER veterinarian practices referring their regular clients/patients to our facility after their own facilities are closed for business, or in situations where the pet they have treated requires around-the-clock care. Bay Area Pet Hospital's General Practice and Visitation Hours are: Monday through Friday from 9am to 9pm, Saturday's from 10am to 5pm and Sunday's from 12pm to 4pm. Emergency hours are 24/7 365 days a year. There are no discounts or special packages offered at Bay Area Pet Hospital.

They got us right in and we found out he had pancreatitis. He was on deaths door. They told us to leave him there so they could try to get him better. Two days later he was good as new. We had to take him back again a year later and had the same experience. They even called a few times to check on him after we got home. I love this place and would never go anywhere else with my pets.

My dog is a special needs rescue, she had been hit by a car before we got her and Bayside did everything they could to save her hind leg but it was worse off then anyone had thought. They had to amputate her leg and they also found tumors which they had removed as well the same day. They kept her for a week to heal and learn how to use only 3 legs. I would use this vet again.

My beloved family dog of almost 14 years woke in the morning throwing up and lost control of her bowels. She was shaky and struggled to walk. I called our vet and they had no openings and suggested Bay Area Pet Hospital. I called them sometime after 8a and they scheduled us for 11:30a. The staff were very kind and gentle. The doctor was compassionate and most helpful. We wound up having to euthanize my dog and it was one of the hardest things I things I remember ever having done. My daughter and my parents were allowed in the room. The staff gave us as much time alone as we needed to make the decision and then gave us as much as we needed before the process began. They made a little comfy bed on the floor and we held our sweet companion through the entire humane and peaceful ordeal and then we held her some more - again, we were given the time that we needed. The staffed teared up with us. A couple days later I stopped by and they gave me a paw print cast with the name on it.
The entire sad and heart wrenching ordeal was made easier by the staff and I am going out of my to write this review as a thank you for all they did for us that sad day.
