We have a 1 1/2 story all brick home and a 2 story 4 car garage. This home is a 1/2 to 3/4 Million dollar home. The roofing shingles were installed properly but the flashing that was used where the brick meets the roof was improperly installed. First it was supposed to be a 1-2" flashing and they used chimney flashing approx. 6 inches. 1/2 of the house had the flashing glued in place with a black caulk. As the weather got colder, his guys NAILED this flashing the rest of the way around the house and all around the whole garage. Rather than cut the flashing at an angle at the edge of the house they wrapped it around the front side of the house and a garage about 3-4 inches and nailed it in place. The nailed flashing wasn't bad enough, it was beaten to shreds to get the nails pounded into the brick and didn't even match the brick color or roof color. When we called Ronnie and told him it was wrong and looked terrible he said he would look at it. All Ronnie said was it was done right, just have a trim guy trim over it and it will be OK. Well guess what - I shouldn't have to pay extra for a trim guy to do this. And furthermore, I don't want trim up that will have to be 8 inches to cover this mess. You can't take the flashing off since the black caulk will never come off the brick and it will leave a line all the way around my new home and new brick. In a few places I only have about 12 inches of brick, do you know how ridiculous this will look with 8" of trim. Everyone notices it when they look it over. This is so unacceptable. My otherwise beautiful home with it's stone and brick work was ruined by this god awful job. The kicker is Keyes has put on 5 roofs for me over time, I referred people to him and was a friend. The economy is tough I know, but don't take the money and run we work hard for it. As for the friends, not no more. We will be seeing Keyes roofing in court. I rate him with the fly by nighters and flim flammers. BEWARE!!
