John Starnes Garage Door Service

John was a little hard to get ahold of. I had to call twice over the course of a week to catch him and get a call back. Once confirmed, he came out the next day, he was five minutes early, he had materials ready to go, and did the whole job, including garage door adjustments, in an hour. A great experience overall!

He is really care about his job. Make sure, his customer is happy. He is a friendly guy.

Everything went very well. I called for a quote and left a message, which was very promptly returned within the hour. I asked him about replacing my garage door opener and springs. John offered to come out the same day to do the work, but due to my availability, we decided to schedule it for the following morning. He quoted me a set price for the springs ($130) and gave me a range on the garage door opener depending on what needed to be done ($300-$500). He ended up on the lower end for the total price of $515.

He arrived early and very well prepared. He was very efficient and thorough in his work. It took him about 3 hours to do the entire job. He even reused some of the components from my old garage door opener that were of better quality than the newer openers. This attention to the quality was very much appreciated.

I had left a message on the companys voicemail, and did receive a prompt call back.I did make an appointment, and asked the person if they needed directions. She said no, to just give her the address. I asked if they had GPS, she said yes. I gave her the address AND directions just in case.
Appointment time was for 3pm. John called me at 3pm, and said that he was having trouble finding the house. I gave him directions over the phone, and he arrived late, around 3:25. When he got here, he said the person that set up my appointment had given him the wrong street name, but the correct house number.
After he looked at the opener, we noticed that there was just one bolt and nut missing from the and quot;carrierand quot;. Not a big problem, just put the nut and bolt back ( which I had just found on the garage floor). It took maybe 5 minutes to fix it total. He did spray some WD40 on the springs, and greased the track. Maybe another 10 minutes total.
Use this company if you are not busy, and can afford to wait for him to show up. The service was good, he is experienced with repairs, and is friendly and professional.

Spring on garage door on Sunday. Couldn't get the car out of the garage. Immediately went to Angies List to find someone to replace it. The first few company's were not in our area. Saw John Starnes name next and he was in my area so I decided to call him. First thing on Mon. I called, got a machine and left a message. Got a call back within the hour and was told he could be there by noon. I was very pleased with that and even more pleased when he showed up early. He went right to work and replaced the spring then he tested it and noticed that the chain was very loose so he tightened it up. It didn't take him over an hour to do all the work. He was very pleasant and very efficient. I'm glad I called John.

John gave me a lot of information over the phone so I could determine what type of garage door opener I wanted. He was the 3rd call I had made and no one else took the time to explain the differences to me, but John did. We scheduled an appointment the next day and he arrived on time, put in the new opener, explained how it worked and it's worked fine ever since.

One of two door springs broke while closing door on Sat.morning. I called John Starnes Garage door Service ,I asked when they could be here and was told within approx. 1 hour. He showed up in about 1 hour and replaced both springs as per our conversation earlier and tested door operation. Everything seems fine so far.I

Called on Thursday. John repaired on Friday. Fair price. Quick service.

John walked into the garage and with just a glance he noticed the spring was broke also up in the the ceiling of the garage, which caused the tack and roller to bend. Since John was by himself, I asked if he would need any help on the ladder with the spring or the garage door as the door was a double door and heavy. John told me not to worry he would take care of it and within about an hour me to inspect the job. John had replaced the spring, track and rollers. I figured $115 for labor, material, and travel time was extremely reasonable.

We have had Mr. Starnes take care of our garage door needs for at least 20 years. He has always been prompt at replying to us and coming out to repair our door problems, which have usually been broken springs. He also has installed a new garage door for us and and a garage door opener. His prices have always been fair and the workmanship is of high quality.

The price was reasonable for what he did. He was prompt in answering my call and he called me back right away. He came right out and took care of things. He seemed very knowledgeable and got right to work.

John came to our house and bid the job. At that point we set an appointment for when he could come back and complete it (parts needed). John did a great job. He replaced our spring and repaired the bracket, and even went beyond that by tightening our chain which made a big difference in the noise of our automatic door. Quality work.

Very nice guy, very friendly. Very good work and didn’t charge a lot. No problems. They were prompt and here on time.
