We first used PMS in 2016 for a new patio. Then in August of 2020 we wanted to extend our patio. PMS matched our 4 year old patio perfectly. They were very professional and protected with sheets of plywood the part of our yard they had drive over in the bobcat. They made suggestions to what I needed and that made a difference. You certainly get what you pay for and we couldn't be more pleased.

Very professional service. We could not have been more happy with the work PMS provided. Friendly and courteous throughout the entire process. The work was quick and turned out exactly how we imagined. Thank you to the whole team, we will definitely be using them again in the future.

Kenny the salesman came out promptly to give us an estimate. He was very courteous and knowledgeable, and his estimate was extremely detailed and provided us with several options and prices to choose among. A few days after we signed the contract, the first crew came out to rebuild our steps with new 12 x 12 caps, re-level our walkway, and rebuild our patio stair planters. Their work was very meticulous and professional, and they completed the job by the end of the day. The next day, the power-washing crew came out to power wash our patio and walkway. The following Monday, a third crew came out to install polymer sand between the pavers. Everything was done as promised, and we are very pleased with the results--especially our front steps, which are now much safer and more secure to use than the previous steps. We recommended PMS to my brother and would not hesitate to use them again. As for the price, I'm sure there are landscapers that would do the job for less money, but I doubt most would provide the same quality of work.

I can't say enough, on how pleased we are with the work that was done! I first want to thank Jasen, the salesmen who came out to review the job & quote it. He arrived exactly at the time he stated he would be here! The first crew came out and redesigned the walkway & fixed an area that had sunk over time. They used the tapper to level the high areas that had developed. The crew was very professional & courteous! The second day another crew came out & powerwashed all the pavers & removed the old sand. Again, another outstanding crew! Allowing for the pavers to dry out, day three, another crew came out & put in the polymeric sand. The patio looks brand new! Again, another outstanding crew! The time stated that each crew expected to be at our job, they were here promptly at that time. I would highly recommend PMS Pavers & plan on using them if I need anything done in the future!

Response from PMS Brick Pavers
"We have looked at our appointment schedule data base and the name and address does not come up. If you would like an estimate for brick paver work please provide a contact number or call our office at 586-786-9500 (our local direct line), 1-800-Brickpavers (274-2572). We would be happy to come out to your home and provide a quote. We have received quite a few calls about another company in your area that is saying he is affiliated with our company. If you feel you may have happened to you, please call our office. Again, we would welcome the opportunity to provide you a quote. I have a rep in your area this Saturday, August 1st."

PMS has done this clean/seal for us three times now.  Every time has been excellent service.  Steve, the General Manager, came out to give us a quote within about a week of my first call.  He arrived right on time and prepared the quote quickly.  He then explained in detail what they would be doing.  He originally said it would be a couple of weeks before they could get to this job. But when I told him that we had a party coming up in about 10 days and asked if they could at least do the repair and cleaning, he said they could.  He sent a crew out the next day to do the repairs and clean the pavers, then the following day to do the sealing.  The crews were very professional, explaining what they were going to do and then verifying that I was happy with the job.   My patio now looks brand new.  It's beautiful!

Cost wise, they were middle of the road and the work they did was good.  However, their responsiveness was poor and backing up the work was worse than poor.  They dumped all the stuff that they didn’t need on the underlayment for the pavers into our canal right alongside the boat.  They damaged our sprinkler system by putting in the paving bricks around one of the trees and the only way we could get their attention is we had to stop payment on a check.  Then they got back to us and sorted out an issue for my wife.

Response from PMS Brick Pavers
"When I met Mr.[member name removed], the patio was deteriorating and pitched back towards the house. I, Steve Dhondt, had provided a detailed estimate for an aggressive wash of the pavers, rebuilding the patio and steps and sealing the pavers. I explained that when we reconstruct to raise the patio that it would eliminate a step or 2. Mr. [member name removed] elected to hired our company and put down the deposit. We scheduled work to be commenced by each specialized crew with the first phase of the aggressively wash. Our 2nd crew, who has been working with me for over 13 year’s, began repairing the patio with taking care to preserve the original brick in the tear down phase. This process provided a savings for the [member name removed]’s, as they did not have to purchase new pavers for the patio. The crew spent over a week prepping and rebuilding the patio and steps. The patio was rebuilt using 4 steps as discussed. Once we finished the steps, the [member name removed] called and wanted me back out on site, I was there in less than 24 hours. Mr. [member name removed] said that he wanted 5 steps not four, and insisted that we rip down and rebuild the steps and the patio. I listened and was courteous as he belittled my best builder, who was not present. I could not understand why he was complaining. The project was beautiful, rebuilt better than the original build and we had fulfilled all ends of the contract at that time, with the exception of the sealing, a $600 item. Mr. [member name removed] refused to pay for the services rendered, which left the company no other option, but to file with the courts. After hearing both sides, the magistrate sided in favor of PMS Diversified. The [member name removed]’s appealed the magistrate’s decision and our company had to retain legal counsel and asked for a trial. On November 21st all sides were presented to a judge and 3 legal panel members, which again decided that PMS Diversified completed all work according to contract agreement, discussions and to industry standards. A judgment was awards in favor of our company, instructing the [member name removed]’s to pay for services rendered. As of January 29th 2015 PMS Diversified still has not been paid and our lawyer is again involved. This review took us off guard do to the fact that the courts awarded in favor of PMS Diversified. PMS Diversified does not make a habit of suing clients and we believe that there is always a better option for both parties involved. This scenario truly left us with no other option. If the [member name removed] had been reasonable, I gladly would have worked with them. With over 20 years in this industry, I have had only two clients that were extremely unreasonable with resulted in a legal outcome."

My sales guy (name escapes me) came out and I really liked what he had to say and proposed - he wasn't just a sales guy - he knew how the work was done.  He was totally cool with the fact that I was building the retaining wall and benches myself and even offered some tips and pointer.  I should note that other companies stated that they need to have total ownership and won't work with DIYers.  The proposal price was basically the same as all the other contractors, whether for pavers or stamped concrete.  PMS also didn't caveat anything with their warranty, like some of the others; not that I expect any issues with 18" of gravel base.
The crew was professional and fast.  Amazingly fast.  I was replacing a raised deck so they had to bring in a semi-load of stone.  They used a bobcat and tamped the stone done every few inches.  They installed a drain (other quotes just had the water flowing off the steps or through holes that they wanted to cut in my wall ).  The foreman suggested a bit of added pattern on the steps that I hadn't thought of that was very nice.  When the mainarea  pattern wasn't quite right (due to my design being off), they simply pulled and moved pavers to make it to my liking.  Not a grumble or a complaint - as if customer stupidity was a matter of course - which it probably is.  It turned out beautifully.  All in 2 days flat.

After 22 years, our brick paver patio had heaved and warped to the point that it needed to be reset. The retaining wall had sunk to the point that there were displacements of as much as an inch between the retaining wall and the paver bricks, which had become a trip hazard. Also there were low spots that collected water from rain and melting snow. We contacted several contractors, including Paver Maintenance Specialists (PMS), to give us a quote.
Steve came out to quote the job and after looking at the patio and listening to what we were after, he described in detail the work that PMS was proposing (see description above). We decided to go with PMS because the work he described most closely fit what we wanted done, including replacing the old worn retaining wall cap pieces with new pieces and building new steps to the patio door. Steve impressed us with his knowledge of patio construction.
Because it was their busy season, and because we had a lot of rain, it was somewhat longer than we expected between putting down a down payment for the job and actually getting the work done. The office staff was very helpful when we called to inquire about a start date.
The job took a couple of days to complete. The crew worked very hard, even though it was miserably hot those days. One issue that arose was that when they dug to expand the size of the patio, they exposed a sprinkler line and head. Steve came right out to assess the situation, and they moved the sprinkler line and fixed a leak also. They were very responsive and took care of the problem.
The only rough spot was that there was some initial confusion over whether they were going to re-use the old wall caps, or put in new ones. In fact, they started re-installing the old caps. When we called the office, however, to ask about it, the office staff was very accommodating and helpful, and basically said however we wanted it done, they would do it that way. When we said we wanted new caps, the crew pulled of the old caps that they had already installed, and put on new caps as we wanted. Possibly the delay between the time of the quote and the start of work contributed to the confusion. We recommend going over expectations for the entire job with the crew foreman, and if necessary the quoter (Steve in this case) at the start of the actual work, to make sure everyone is on the same page.
The patio looks great, they did a good job and the patio is smooth, level, and correctly pitched for runoff. They cleaned up the entire area. We are very happy with the result.

They arrived as scheduled, based on the weather, which was the time where it rained every day for nine or ten days. The worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. The restored patio looks beautiful. Our alternative option was stamped concrete, but this was less expensive and made use of material we already had.

They are very professional. Provided a prompt estimate with three options clearly indicated and priced. We were not home when the work was done and discovered when we returned that the crew had done the wrong option and made a minor mistake on the front entrance. I contacted the company the next day and they came out the following day, fixed the problem in the front and redid the work to the specifications in the contract.
All of my contacts with the company personnel were friendly and professional. I took photos of the locations prior to having the work done and this turned out to be useful when explaining the issues to the company as I was able to send the before and after photos via email.
Overall a positive experience.

Salesman did not want any questions, as soon as I asked legitimate questions, he had an attitude. He looked at the job and promised a quote the following day. I had to call back three days later, they e-mailed an illegible quote three days later. We reviewed the quote and negotiated a new price and gave a verbal okay to go ahead with the work without a new paper copy, my mistake. After the job was complete, I called PMS to meet with the salesman to review the job, and to bring paper copies of all of the final estimates and invoices. They came while I was not at home ! When I called back, they told me they reviewed the job, it was better than expected and I should be happy and to pay up. I finally got the salesman to come back to critique the job, he was not at all receptive to any of my comments and spoke in a very irritated tone. I was concerned that the pavers would have a sandpaper finish when they were done, I was ressured that this would not happen. We are now living with a sandpaper finish. It took me a half a day to clean up all of the excess sand around all of the sidewalks, it turned to cement after the application of the sealer. When I addressed this with the salesman, he referred to the small print in the estimate. I never received the paper estimate and was not discussed at the time of the estimate! When I finally met with the salesman, I asked why he never delivered the estimate, he just told me he never wanted to do the job in the first place !
Based on many of the other reviews on angieslist, I would not go near the contractor. When I suggested that I may review the work on line, I was threatened with a law suit. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience.
