I had McQuade company to replace the furnace and additional ducts work. When I was email the sales man Scott, he was agree that he would do Duct pressure test to verify the unit is able to move sufficient air through the duct. But when the technician finished the work, and after I paid them with the credit card, he said the company did not ask him to test the system. I called Scott the next day, Scott said, the company had no tool. I realized that they took my money, they would not perform the test any more. They took full price, but they would never test the system as we discussed in the email. I would say never hire this company any more.

Called to get quotes on a new A/C since my current unit is 27 years old. Barry came out and was much more thorough in the process than several competitors who came out (also noteworthy that the ultimate price was comparable as well). He was knowledgeable, took detailed measurements, and considered any possible complications that could affect the estimate. Ultimately, chose McQuade over the competitors for two reasons: 1.) As stated above, I was more impressed with them than competitors in the estimate process, and 2.) Trane is a quality product. McQuade was able to come out within a week of my acceptance of the quote. Two individuals performed the installation. They were right on time, respectful of my home in terms of laying down drop clothes, etc. I am not a technical expert, but the install has a very high quality appearance (everything is level, ductwork is sealed properly, etc). The crew removed the old A/C, patched up the brickwork, and made sure to remove the old cement pad (but not without asking first). They did all of this, installed the new A/C, and a new humidifier (old setup was improper) all in a matter of about 4 hours. The crew cleaned up after themselves and was professional and courteous. Would certainly recommend McQuade to others.

I had never used McQuade before. I was surprised and very pleased to be able to call them on a holiday weekend and receive prompt, expert service. The technician clearly explained the problems he found, and got the system working again. He also gave me good advice about maintenance and replacement.

Terrible. Our service window was from 8am-12pm. The plumber called at 12:45pm to say he would be another 20 minutes. I understand that a job might run long, but at least have the decency to call and say you are running late BEFORE the service time window is up. The service fee to show up was $89.95 (which seemed fair) but to charge another $145 for less than $5 worth of parts and 10 mins worth of time is ridiculous. It's companies like this that unfortunately give honest tradesmen bad reputations.

It has worked out well. We have them check out heating and cooling every year. In fact they will be coming on Friday for the A/C. It is an annual fee for doing 2 the A/C in the spring and the furnace in the fall. So I think it was about $180 for both of them. It is a service contract which saves money. Just one person came. I liked their service, they explain things well.

When I called McQuade, I was pleasantly surprised to reach a real live person on the phone. I originally called to have someone install a new thermostat as I thought that was the problem. When the technician came out, he inspected my furnace and said that my heat exchangers were cracked, and the problem was not my thermostat. They were a bit backed up in scheduling, so they put in a temporary unit until they could install the new high efficiency furnace. On installation day, they arrived on-time, were professional and courteous. Before they left they cleaned up everything, and showed me how to use the humidifier. They also walked me through setting up the thermostats and did not leave until they were sure everything was working properly. As a nice touch, they left me with an extra media filter and two promotional acrylic cups with straws. I plan to hire McQuade again to install a backup sump pump. Oh, I almost forgot, they submitted my paperwork for the energy rebate without my even asking.

They did a great job. The price was good. They were very responsive. They were on time. The customer service was excellent. The person who answered the phone was really courteous and really helpful. I also liked the professionalism from the guy that actually did the installing and of course, the cost was great. We've had a couple of people come out in years past just to do furnace checkup and tune-up. I don't think we've used them in the past.

The service was excellent, but the two times that they were coming they had to cancel and reschedule it. So that was inconvenient. Both times they said they were short staffed and people were out sick. They were very good overall. They explained carefully the details of what went wrong with the motor on our furnace. They were really good. My husband is an engineer and was with them on the second visit when they replaced it. It was exactly what he thought it was. They were honest. What stood out was their honesty, professionalism and technical skill.

McQuade's team was very professional, highly competent, trustworthy and honest. Each technician had 15+ years with the company. They provided a few options, explained them clearly, allowing me to make the best decision. They thought ahead as well based on the age of my second AC unit, proposing a solution that will save money down the road. I ultimately decided to install a new AC unit and repair the other. I highly recommend McQuade.

We had been warned that the age and condition of the furnace indicated it could fail. McQuade quoted us prices for replacement. When the furnace did fail a few months later they honored the quotes although lower than what they would usually charge. They replaced the furnace ASAP so we could run the AC in the hot weather. They came to install the AC later. The installers were pleasant, conscious of protecting our home and privacy, and did a great job. They company sent flowers thanking us for our business!

I initially contacted another larger company on Angie's list, and was told the soonest I could be seen was five days. I chose McQuades because of a review that perfectly sums up my experience. The service technician was Barry, very professional and personable. It took Barry about five minutes to determine the dual capacitor was bad, and the unit needed a good cleaning, and would perform for a few more years. Everything was fixed and back in service in less than an hour. My condenser is over ten years old, and as much as I wasn't looking forward to it, was prepared to buy a new one. It was very very nice to have a technician not try to sell me one when it really wasn't necessary, though. I love Angie's list for the ability to use other people's feedback, and am more to add mine on McQuade. I would use them again, and be happy to recommend them to others. Oh, and Barry is a veteran; plus points in my book, any day. I can assure you McQuade will be getting my business in the future.

It was fantastic. We'd had another company over the day before, and they thought we needed a new unit for $2660. We wanted a second opinion just to be sure, and Mike Beard, the repairperson, found an electrical issue that he fixed on the spot. He did not need parts, so the cost was very low. He was here less than an hour. He did not badmouth the other company, and said the person who came here was probably still learning. Mike was very polite, responsive, and open about what he was doing. He cleaned up after himself, and there was no trace of him when he left. It is amazingly hard to trust companies when you don't know what they know. He could have sold me a new unit and I would have bought it because it was starting to get very hot. He did the right thing, did it very well, and his work is guaranteed for a year. I would not hesitate to call this company.

The worker (Barry Spivey) was dishonest. He tried to overcharge me and refused to certify my WORKING furnace. When he first arrived he glanced at the furnace and expressed doubt that it was functioning prior to inspecting. When he inspected he said the furnace was broken and I needed a brand new furnace. He told me I would need to spend roughly $2500. My furnace was working fine and I only needed certification.
I got a second opinion who tuned it up and certified it. No problem.

We do not condemn furnaces unnecessarily, but it is our obligation to keep our customer safe. When Barry inspected your Kenmore furnace, he found it to be approx. 25 years old with many potential areas of fatigue, fractures and potential cracks in your heat exchanger. These compromised areas could indicate a leakage of carbon monoxide into the home, therefore making the occupants susceptible to carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be lethal. We highly recommend that at the very least you install carbon monoxide detectors near your living and sleeping areas if you choose to operate this furnace after our company advised you of the safety concerns.
