We had several small areas of the brick on our house where settling caused “stair-step” cracks in the mortar. No big deal. I have no problem with the method the guys used in the repair, but I noticed right away that the color was much much darker than the rest of the mortar. They totally minimized it and said it was no problem and would lighten up as it cured. A year later, there was no perceptible change so I called them back. They still said it would lighten up. Well, over three years later and the mortar is still dark. Every single person that comes to our house comments on the mortar and assumes there is something wrong with the brick work. I’ve since found out that good masons can adjust and match mortar color by how much lime vs Portland cement is in the mix. The repair is solid, but it looks like crap. Maybe they’ve learned how to do it right since then, but if you hire them for mortar, make sure you have them match the color unless you don’t care about that.

We hired Brick Head Masonry & Concrete Specialists in Sterling Heights to remove existing 2 front porch brick paver steps and replace them with bricks and limestone caps for treads. The three man crew seemed to be in a huge hurry to get the job done in a day and it shows. They worked in the dark until 9:15 p.m. using only the lights from their truck to cut and lay the bricks and put the limestone steps in place. We were not able to see what they had done until the following morning. Because our pavers have been discontinued they used new pavers for the approach to the steps that didn’t come close to the color or texture of our existing pavers. Luckily, I came up with a solution to that problem. The limestone steps look very disappointing. They look like they are 100 years old. They are discolored and streaked and not like they looked when they were delivered to our home that morning. We went with Geno’s recommendation on the limestone steps not knowing the characteristic of limestone absorbing water and looking streaked. Perhaps if they were not in such a hurry they might have sealed the limestone before it was installed. Geno sent us a sample picture of limestone steps and our steps look nothing like that picture. Horrible experience. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I wish I could give 10 stars! This company is phenomenal! The workmanship and professionalism is second to none! Gino, the owner, is great! When he said he’d call, he did. When he said what time his crew would show up, they did! He never once wavered on the price. You’d never know the company was here other than the beautiful workmanship on my porch! Everything was cleaned up and hauled away..I had such a hard time finding anyone to replace my porch. Thank goodness we fell upon his add, because I would recommend Brickheads to anyone, for any brick work, or cement work. Call them today! Thank you!

It was dreadful, to say the least. Geno and his “crew” were not professional AT ALL. I also had politely told him that a few of the bricks on the front walkway were loose and he gave me attitude and was trying to tell me that we walked on it and he wouldn’t repair it. Terrible customer service and disrespectful.

I had crack bricks around my house especially one very long section which was right in front of my house and stood out. I had several people mention it to me when they walked by including my neighbors. The brick on my house had been discontinued for many years and I could never get anyone to match my brick but Geno was able to match the brick and did a fantastic job replacing all the bricks that needed replacing which was a lot. Also, the grout matches perfect. I am incredibly happy with the job Geno and his crew of workers did which was a great job. The job was done last summer in 2019.

Geno showed up once on time: the day he quoted the job. He is also particularly masterful at making invalid assumptions. For example, he never bothered to spend the necessary time with us to determine the shape and size of the limestone cap we wanted. He simply assumed that we wanted a flat slab of limestone. (We're currently in the process of adding a custom limestone cap to the lamppost now that he is paid and gone.) Two plus months after we agreed to the price he called and asked if we had decided on the style of stone we desired. In fact, we had emailed him the choice within several days of signing the contract. However, Geno apparently doesn't bother to read his email. Thus, by the time he placed the order with his supplier, the product could not be shipped in time to avoid winter conditions absent paying an additional $400 for expedited freight. That wasn't the worst of it. Notwithstanding the fact that for months he had our specifications and dimensions, he never bothered to print them out for his crew. Instead, he insisted that we purchase additional stone at a cost of $200 as he "thought" that the pier was 6' tall. (It will be 6' tall with the 20" lamp on top.) All in all, his failure to plan and his inattention to detail resulted in us paying $600 over and above the price originally quoted. Under the circumstances, it impossible for me to give Brickheads a favorable review.

Geno did a wonderful job him and his crew had the whole job finished in 1 day replaced around 120 spalling bricks and tuck pointed about a 1/4 of my house! Also replaced the chimney cap and put his custom brick cap on instead of the precast one, stands out as you drive by! Would deff recommend brick heads for all work!! Love their work!

The manager, Eugene Zaniewsk, presented the company capabilities very well. He said he would replace the steps and specifically insure water would flow off the steps and not puddle which would result in freezing and eventual cracking. The work was done late in the evening so I could not see the finished work. The next morning I saw the steps were not installed to facilitate flow off the steps. It was clear it would puddle. Also the clean up was abdominal. I attached pictures. I called Eugene right away. He said he would come out and repair the steps. He also told me I had to clean up the masonry residue with a diluted muriatic acid. Eugene never showed up to fix steps. I cleaned up the messy residue myself. The acid was toxic! Please do not use this company.

Excellent results. Chimneys have new concrete caps, sloping down with a nice stone overhang. The soldier course was rebuilt and looks fantastic. The owners crew went beyond what was originally quoted for the job and there was no problem from the owner. He stands behind his work. They even worked to salvage the top of a chimney whose entire liner had collapsed and built it up with a stop-gap until we can get the liner removed and an insert installed.

Austin and his dad were very responsive when asked to provide a quote, and provided a lot of detail about the planned repairs. The two masons who did the work were excellent. Austin and his dad were on site during the job, and many small extras were done as they came upon them at no extra cost. Cleanup was not perfect, but very good. Highly recommended.

They took out the bricks, lifted the top to make sure it was at the proper pitch. Then he reset the bricks. Everything came out great. Would definitely have them back to do other work.

After 2 weeks went up on roof to look at chimney top. Chimney cement already has cracks in it. It was sealed also, and here it is already cracked. They said using some sort of special cement, when it was a bag of Quickret. Cement guy is sloppy. Cut limestone on my front lawn, leaving a mess with chunks of cement. Edges not cleaned up around chimney top. Cement left to harden hanging off. Missed areas needing cement between bricks. Clean up was special. Found bucket left sitting on my roof for 2 weeks. Old guy swept concrete chunks into my gutters. Concrete chunks left on ground. Also replaced a few bricks on furnace chimney. Used ones they took from my yard, when I was charge for replacements. Way over priced for the job that was done. They were suppose to also replace my basement windows, however style was not in stock. So glad I didn't sign for that job. I don't plan on letting them do it. Very disappointed.

Everything went great. They used a higher quality brick than was already in place at no extra cost. Two neighbors asked who did the work after it was completed.

Brickhead Masonry is one of the best contracting firms I’ve enjoyed having done work for us. Not only is the owner very prompt in responding to quotes, but also very well-prepared.

First impressions are a big thing for us and it was apparent to me that Geno has a real passion in his work and pride in his company and staff as well as the quality of their work. Geno was very quick in getting the information and details down in order to provide us with an on-the-spot quote. Never had to wait. Brickhead Masonry was able to fit both our projects in both our timeframes.

Geno gave us a thorough evaluation and observation of our existing porches and provided his recommendations. I very much appreciated his readiness and ability to leave us a quote before he left and I could see he knew his stuff well.

It was also good to initially meet one of his employees prior to the start of both jobs and who happened to work on both our porches—to feel comfortable with their knowledge, expertise, ability, and thoroughness.

As work began, I noticed how focused they are and how they pay particular attention to details especially after the day’s work when all that hard physical labor is so exhausting. They have a system…their team works in harmony and complement each other well.

Quality and Pride in their work is definitely at the top of their list. Really appreciated Geno’s end-of-day quality checks.

At the end of the project, all I could think of was “what else could I have them work on.” They are certainly at the top of my list of go to’s and (I’m generally hard to please and very particular) I would highly recommend them to you and all my neighbors.

The owner, Geno, was quick to schedule an appointment and survey my situation. He answered all of my questions and scheduled the repair the very next week. During the repair, they carpeted/protected my roof and uncovered another issue with my flues. Without adding to the original quote, they went above and beyond to fix all of my problems. Everything looks great and I would recommend!

I had previously talked to this owner last year (2012) and was given a great price for the job.  However, it was too late in the year to complete.  Therefore I called in May 2013 to schedule a concrete job this year.  It took this company 3 weeks to call me back.  When the owner did call, it was at 3AM in the morning and he appeared to be inebriated.  When he called he asked who I was and then stated would call me sometime soon.  He never called back.  I do not recommend this company to others.
