The painters were very professional. They came on time and cleaned up each evening before they left. We are very happy with the job they did. They also made friends with our dogs which made the whole experience much smoother!

The job went very well. Terry came out a day or two after my initial call to give an estimate, provided us with paint samples so we could pick our colors and started the work in a timely manner. The job took about 3 days to complete and the results were excellent. A couple of minor flaws in the final result were fixed with no questions or complaints. We were very happy with the cost and outcome and would definitely use them again.

Terry came over on time to give me an estimate . He told me he would give me an esitmate the next day . As promised I received the estimate the next day . I hired his company to paint 4 rooms in my house . His worker shannon was very neat and professional and did a wonderful job on my project. He also dealt very calm with my barking yorkie . On day of inspection I was having trouble with my garage door and Terry went out of his way to take a look at it to see if he could help me fix it before the company came out . I was impressed by his professionalism and would def hire his company again for future projects .

The work was okay. The quote only came with one coat. There were some areas of the house that only got one coat that really needed two coats. If I wanted another coat, I had to pay extra. It seemed like the owner would always come in to tell us about additional charges towards things that were going to cost more. He kept saying he's been in the business for 25 years, but that was a red flag for me, because he figured out how to up the invoice. He quoted something that should be all inclusive. But he'd show up right before the work starts or right during the work and said stuff like the fence would cost another $300. But when we did our walk-around, I told him about the fence and what I needed painted. And then he came in and claimed if I wanted it done, it would be another $300. I didn't fall for it. I told him I wasn't going to add on money. He figured out how to upcharge, which upset me. The work was okay. It was good. It didn't say anywhere in the contract that it was only going to be one coat. Some of the doors and other areas are not quite as sharp as they should be. We actually ended up painting a couple of them ourselves. The work was fine and the house looks nice, but the owner was a little greedy. It's a year later and we've had to repaint a few areas because of chipping, but that's the nature of painting a stucco house. His crew worked really well and were on time.

"I am disappointed that [members name] was not happy with the service my company provided. As a professional contractor, my job is to ensure that the quote I provide for the customer takes in the entire scope of the project. In this case, the homeowner had not selected the colors when they asked me to quote the project. I expressed concern, because their possible color choice and its variance from the original color would have an effect on whether one or two coats were needed. Because the customer had not selected a color, I advised that I would provide a quote for one coat, and that if the color were too different from the original, I would revise my quote. After the color choice was made, I expressed my concerns to the owner about our ability to achieve good, uniform coverage with a single coat; I also communicated that the quote I’d given her was for a single coat and her color choice meant she would likely need two coats. She then stated that she did not care because that was the color she wanted. This statement raised some flags for me, so at that point I offered to refund their entire deposit and offer them a chance to terminate the contract. She declined. What I offered at that point was to put an extra effort into achieving a good, quality look with one coat of paint. In fact, we actually put second coats on many areas of the house at my expense in an effort to ensure customer satisfaction. After the job was completed, which was over a year and a half ago, the customer never contacted me to express any of the dissatisfaction she writes in her review. We value every Angie’s list customer. We go out of our way to ensure satisfaction on every job we do. Please review the feedback we’ve received from all of our other customers, and be assured we will do our best job for you."

We were very happy with the job. Terry was prompt and gave suggestions for products. Everything was clean and neat afterwards, and the porch and patio look good. We would definitely use this company again.

They did a good job. He was very helpful since we had some tough colors to work with. They had a crew of 2-3 guys and it took about a week to complete the job. A few days after they were all done, we noticed a couple of spots they missed, and they came back and addressed the issue right away.

I have never had a paint contractor contact me when the job was "done"
to advise that the paint did not cover well and would require another
coat as well as additional money. He told me he chose a different brand
of paint which was far better than SW paint I chose, but had all sorts
of reasons for the poor coverage. Off white over off white and over
fairly soft pastels? We weren't trying to cover red or dark colors.
He also told me he had maxed out his allocated man hours on that job. I
do not live in the state and while I had a surrogate agent open and
close the house each day, I cannot confirm that his crew was at my job
for all of those allocated man hours. He had me over the long-distance
barrel -- I needed the job completed.
I paid my balance plus a little extra (we compromised) when completed
and closed the book on this one. I am hesitant to write a less than
stellar review, but hope that others posting on Angie's List would be as
honest. I joined Angie's List specifically to find good contractors to
work on my mom's home and the reviews were critical to my decision.

"I am sorry about the confusion regarding the coverage of the paint. We talked about coverage when I was on site and I also have a line in my contract regarding coverage and what is specified in the quote. The rooms that required additional coats where darker and not the same as the sample areas. I called to get approval before we proceeded with additional work and get a verbal change order. I estimate my jobs based on a specific scope of work, and i cannot guarantee paint coverage over darker colors, so thats why we had to do an additional coat. We have always prefered to work with local suppliers due to the level of service we receive. Sherwin William does a terrible job standing behind there product so I choose to not use them."

Terry Bandstra and his painters were highly recommended by a local professional paint store; his references were impeccable and his estimate, both as to price and schedule, were right on. Terry painted the exterior of our fairly large home , and put two coats on the great room, dining area, and kitchen for the interior. The work was excellent, the painters professional, responsive to our questions and suggestions, and punctual. We were very pleased with the price and the result, and would certainly recommend Painting Services of West Michigan to other members!

I WAS SO VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR WORK. THEY CAME AND GOT THE WORK DONE IN NO TIME. THEY MADE EVERYTHING CLEANER AND LOOKING MORE BEAUTIFUL THEN WHEN THEY STARTED.
