When I first moved to Muskegon 3 years ago I was right around the corner from Clarke so I set them up as my vet.  They are professional and provide good care. Although they are on the expensive side. I have since moved to a different vet that charges much less for the same services.  I have paid over $550 for a yearly visit for shots for my dog and cat with 6 months flea and tick and heartworm for my dog.  They do not have emergency service though so you are referred to the 24 hour vet in Grand Rapids after 6pm and on weekends.  My cat got a urinary stone on a weekend and had to go to Grand Rapids and pay $1,000 just for basic flushing of the bladder and fluids.  I then had to come back to Clarke during the week and pay for more care to be done.  My cat was also recently diagnosed with a heart murmur at my new vet.  Clarke never took the time to get him to stop purring to actually listen to his heart well.  And he was last at Clarke 6 months ago before the recent diagnosis.  Overall they provide good care during the hours they are open, and I wouldn't have a problem recommending them to others.  But, I would rather have a vet that provides their own emergency care and takes their time with my animals.

When I first returned to Mi. I was sent to Clark with high comments. On the first visit I informed them due to the breed of dog i have and that they are not well known, that i did not want and quot;rotatingand quot; vets. I was told i would keep the same vet if i desired. This was False and for the services i mentioned above i received another vet.
I'm not saying my dogs are more important than any others that love there pets just as much. I'm disturbed of the high price for the service i mentioned ( I checked two other vets that day and were much less for same items). Also the fact that we did not get our and quot;normaland quot; vet as promised. In defense of our normal vet, was in non emergency surgery, but I check my schedule before i work. And i did not receive a call to even see if i would like to reschedule.
So, in short if you don't mind the high pricing here and also if you don't mine a different Dr. each time, then use them.

Good service, treatment of animals superb

Used an online pet pharmacy to order medication. Clarke animal hospital refused to give the prescription to them over the phone. So I called ahead to make sure a written one was written and ready for pick up before I drove the 15 minutes up there. I was then made to sign a waiver so basically saying that Clarke animal hospital is not responsible for the medications provided by an online pharmacy and that it may be harmful to my pet. Totally unnecessary. I did not appreciate this scare tactic and what amounted to a giant run around by this Vet Clinic. I asked that the script be modified for 100 pills, instead of 45. The vet was unwilling to do so. And cited that it could be dangerous for the cat. When asked why, she said that kidney problems could develop and the cat would need to be seen after 90 days and she was not willing to put her license on the line for this. Fine, I respect her choice. This experience was the final straw for me. Kidney function exams are upwards of $2-300. They have always been very expensive for testing and services. As it remains, I have to drive back again to get prescription and mail it to the online Pet Pharmacy.

I really trust their care with my dog. If I didn't I would definitely not bring her here. They are a little pricey but they are worth the price. I have used them for a while now and they have always been dependable and are great with my dog. I do bring her here for her annual check ups and her shots as well. They have always been pretty punctual with keeping the scheduled appointment.

They weren't expensive at all. We had called other places but we ended up choosing them because of their price. They treated our cats very well. I really don't remember exactly how much we paid to have this done.

THE HOSPITAL DOES A VERY GOOD JOB WITH THE ANIMALS. THE PLACE IS KEPT VERY CLEAN AND THE PEOPLE THAT WORK WITH THE PETS REALLY SEEM TO LIKE WHAT THEY DO. MY DOG SEEMED TO LIKE THEM, TOO.
